Formations? 100 strat bombers don't need no formation foo!
They can claim until the cows come home that they are "not making this like DotA", but it plays just like DotA/AotS and it always will. I'm guessing that close to 40% of the playerbase for Demigod is coming from DotA or similar games.
I was sort of with you up until that point. I'm fairly confident that Demigod will be huge, and that the DoTA player base (even if they all moved over) will not be anywhere near big en
My mind just went 'rook figurine' -> 'big daddy figurine' -> 'big daddy mod for Demigod!'
They've put up some new artwork here: https://forums.elementalgame.com/333264 Any you know, after all that arguing, I think that perhaps everyone is going to be happy with it.
I only dabbled with the Sims 1, but have played a fair bit on the second one, and actually I really enjoyed it. It's a well crafted game, if a bit too easy. But once you've 'won' it a couple of times with stunningly attactive people, you can turn your attention to creating virtual losers and tormenting them with your capricious Exodus-inspired whims. I dunno, it's fun. Also I liked that I could seduce the single mother and then refuse to let her kids move in with us. Enjoy your childhood suck
It seems there's a bit of a wave of artistry taking certain elements of the computer games industry at the moment. I'm glad Stardock is part of it, and the look is great. I am wondering, would those (gorgeous) models go straight into the game as they are, or does the polygon count need reduction first? Additionally, will your engine be doing extra effects for DX 10 compared to DX 9? If so, I might consider upgrading to a recent graphics card.
ummm... are you sure about this? the only reason you need to ground something is when there is an electrical charge being circulated, unplug it and there is no need to ground... of course you need to relieve the static charge by discharging it and that is as simple as rubbing the case while you are grounded. Leaving it plugged in is not only dangerous to the machine but to you as well if there happens to be a short in
That doesn't seem to make sense. 1080i is interlaced, which means its worse than 1080p, but why on Earth would you have an interlaced computer monitor? Anyway, what I'm getting at: It is better to have a resolution that fits the size of a monitor than simply the largest resolution possible. 1900*1080 or 1900*1200 tends to be the standard resolution for 24", while 22" monitors usually have 1680*1050. It's not far out, so it'll probably still look good. More importantly, there's
I've only skimmed the previous posts, so this may not be news, but: Forged Alliance is stand alone, not an expansion, so you don't need the original Supreme Commander. You'd miss out on the original campaign from that, but the campaign is not the attaction of SupCom: the multiplayer is. On the other hand, a combined pack might be cheaper than either individually anyway. Edit: Regarding your question on the SupCom endings, the start of Forged Alliance mixes bits from all of the
I like it, and have been using it since it came out. It really needs an advert blocking tool though, Vibrant Media Intellitxt is driving my mad - that's the one that double underlines a load of words and pops up a video if your mouse happens to go near one of them. I did find out that you can kill flash from Chrome's task manager (shift + esc), which is help with some adverts.
So fantasy warfare, with significant scale differences between troops, plus a good physics engine. So, a dragon breathing flame on an army of spearmen, for instance, might look like...? A question that might best be answered with a video.
Well if that were to happen I would suggest the following: vampires have a small negative health regeneration, but a good life steal. So they have to keep hitting stuff (drinking blood) every now or then or die slowly. But I suspect it won't be an issue, because there are so many area of effect attacks in the game.
Well to be honest the combat doesn't work very well in KoToR or Neverwinter or Planescape Torment. Tactics just don't seem to be of us in any of those compared to spamming Force Speed / Isaac's Pleb Storm / That Spell Wot Makes You Shoot Blue Bolts. But I don't think that's anything to do with the camera perspective. Meanwhile Mass Effect actually is an action RPG and it works very well with a few exceptions (fighting in the Mako is too easy, attack of the floating tripods is dumb).</
Perhaps you should try looking up the error code? Other than that Microsoft have a debugger tool you can download to figure out what is happening when things in general go wrong. Having eliminated the software, the file, and the medium, you're left with drivers, firmware and hardware as the possible problems I would say. Does the drive play CDs and DVDs properly?
When I say only Halo 2 and Shadowrun need DX 10, I mean that they're the only games that don't support DX 9 at all and so won't officially run on XP (although I hear there is a crack to make them do so now). Sorry for any confusion there.
In situations like this you should post the error or at least explain the gist of it. Otherwise, there's really too little information to go on. Also, have you tested burning a different set of files?
Having a fixed camera is not what made Baldur's Gate great. Tactical party based combat that worked, combined with tons of great content (storywriting, interesting quests, varied area) is. I was fine with isometric viewpoint in its time, but I played Hinterland recently and I have to say that I really felt the fixed camera and rubbish resolution really brought it down. It's an arbitrary restriction (you can't see what your characters see, for example) that was implemented only because
Maybe there should be the options to abstract unit choices? So I could equip a unit with 'sword' and it will pick the best sword available (perhaps there needs to be a way to reserve weapons). Or I could equip a unit with 'flaming sword' and it will pick the best available flaming sword, and have priority getting it compared to the guy just picking any old sword, or I could equip it with 'flaming sword IV' and it will only ever be equipped with that, and gets first pick. (Obviously if
1) Think everything should work with XP, but you would get no DirectX 10 support. Not many games use DirectX10, only Halo 2 and Shadowrun need it, and that's just Microsoft being prats, not that anyone cares about those games on PC. 2) Chances of damaging your PC are low. Turn off the power at the mains, but leave your PC plugged in so that the case is Earthed. You can then touch the case to Earth yourself, or use an anti-static wrist band. 3) Graphics card (best you can affor
I'll try to explain why I didn't like winning spell books from nodes in MoM, but it's going to be a bit woolly. My example: D&D 3rd edition. You have skills, which are a numerical value that you can put points in to increase at level up. You also have feats, which are flavour aspects you can add every few levels. Which is great, except that many of the feats are +2 or +3 to a couple of skills. And that is just bad, because they confer little long term benefit*, and are no longer so flavou
During the first beta a lot of people argued that you should be able to upgrade skills while your Demigod is dead. I still think it's a good idea, as it would give you something to do. However, if that's not going to happen, then could we at least have the text descriptions of the skills available while we're dead? On a similar vein, I'd quite like shopping to be a death experience, but would happily settle for merely being able to look through the descriptions of the available i
I think it would be nice to see skill trees go a little bigger without changing the 25 level cap. Having to pick 25 out of 40, say, instead of 25 out of about 30, would be just the right amount of choice for my money, forcing you to think a little harder about what you're sacrificing with each choice. If they could think of worthwhile skills/upgrades to fill that space that is.
I think I shall have a go with The Count. "One smite AH AH AH AH AH! Two smite AH AH AH AH AH!"
I don't like last-hitting either. It adds in a weird meta-game where rather than trying to kill your enemy, you're trying to kill them at the right time so you get experience. This seems very arbitrary to me, I mean it's basically an exploit. I think continuity comes from a few things. Maintaining player base size feeds into itself for a start: if you can't find anyone to play with, you'll leave, so someone else won't be able to find anyone to play with. So, there needs to be strong i
The think with civil wars is that they can be very annoying. I did not enjoy the rebellion mechanic in the more recent Total War games, because it's simply inevitable once certain cities get beyond a particular size that you will lose and have to reconquer them.
