I keep coming back here. This post gets funnier and funnier each time.. like the rap chop!... I'm not talking about ESL either.. the whole thought process is back and forth. I am going with: you play Regulus and choose to lay mines to kill creeps but then get some flak from a teammate because you aren't saving your mines for enemy DG's (?). Apparently you don't want to run into a group of DG's for fear of death. I

Freezing bug has happened to me in multiplayer a painful # of times. My friend and I played 2 solid 3v3 games on Tuesday night with all human opponents. Following that we attempted to play about six additional games. All six 'froze' at the loading screen. We could see the map and the pulsing light/darkness icon as well as the "Conquest" label but we just sat there. Eventually someone would leave and we would hear the "A player has left the game" quote, but nothin

Very annoying. First game I tried to join today = stuck at loading screen looking at the map.. second and third games = great 3v3's with fast connectivity and no drops. Even had a 10 second pause in game 1 where a connectivity screen came up and had a player listed somewhere on it.. but then everything normalized and we continued. Very nice. After that = nightmare. every game I tried to play, whether I started it or not, locked up at the loading

The Bard's Tale: Tales of the Unknown. Had it on a series of floppies with no documentation or anything. Figured it all out and somewhere got a copy of the spells list (I was 11. In order to cast a spell in that game you needed to know it's 4 letter code.) That was back when you could save your party on a seperate floppy and keep disk-swapping characters back to your main group to farm them for gold/items...) Other titles around that time that I will alway

Heh. I played with a person the other day who was all over Ally chat every time I or our #3 made a move he didn't like. Ridiculous. About 5 minutes in he made an announcement to All regarding the skill level of his team and then /quit. After we lost that anchor we started doing well in the game. Apparently the less skillful/suicidal AI was a better option than an overly critical middle manager.

I do use single player to work on DG's I haven't played much in order to work out the skill trees and to see how they do in different situations. I'm not in a hurry to upgrade/push the citadel and I'm not too interested in winning as I find the AI to be erratic.. or at least very different than most players. So if I need to get up for some reason or I want to look closer at the skill tree I don't get concerned with what is happening in the background. Still, iI would r

Currently I play with a friend and we both use Skype. Very easy to download and set-up and has a great voice activated system. We are just able to talk back and forth well without any break-up or confusion. I have used both TS and Vent extensively in WoW and while they both work well there are definitely issues. Voice activation was always spotty and did not pick up well. Set-up can be technical depending on # of users and how uniform you want your sound experien

Last night was the first game I played in where one person (my second ally) was an @ss. They made many comments re: our decisions and how we were playing our DG's. Very annoying and not helpful in any way. Funny thing: he/she ragequit after a few minutes and as a team we actually did BETTER with the AI... :)
Quoting lambdaman, reply 22 Quoting WarlokLord, reply 6+1 . As is surrender, replay or map creation. Why would you need a surrender in Demigod? If you wish to end the game early its easy enough to sacrifice for the good of the enemy. I can understand if you just get into a game and suddenly something in the real world comes up, but beyond that I see a great potential for some to simply utilize this button/feature at the first sign of loss instead of pl

Running away at the right time is definitely a great basic strategy to learn. Every time I have died (other than a surprise teleport from an enemy DG while I am already fighting one) has been due to my own greed. When I think I can get the 2 hits I need to finish someone - I usually don't make it. Either tower fire or spit or a fireball or a snipe drops me. (Usually a combination) Whether I actually killed the DG or not is almost irrelevant at that point. Whe

Much better Chaos. I had to step away during my attempt to read your first posting ;) I also skip out on Raise Dead Ward unless it is end game and I need something to take. I find that Penitence/Shield/Divine Justice/Soul Power are all I need to make a very powerful Oak. Surge of Faith comes in handy as well at later levels, especially for weakening a mob surrounding a DG. I'll have to look closer at the second page of focus items. I really like t

Are there any servers on the list? Th original plan was to go P2P as I understand it. Only after release was there talk about proxy servers as a fix. How then would having 'hundreds of more servers' do anything? Should actually be 'hundreds of servers' since there were no servers initially. Steam is super! If you play TF2 or CSS. I have not tried many other games admittedly. I did try Deus Ex as it is one of my favorite games in recent pas

I'm not a Regulus player yet but isn't there also a disadvantge going stats/snipe in that you are usually farther away from creeps/xp? I would think this might work as a bit of balance. As an Oak player this thread made me realize that I needed to look at the stat upgrades closer. Lately I have focused on Penitence/Shield/AOE and the +hp/mana strike. I used to go Raide Dead towards the middle once I had my key skills down but I have been avoiing that altogether now.&
I love thsi game. The gameplay itself is absouletly awesome. I have no multiplayer problems anymore.
Count yourself lucky. I have yet to start a game in less than 15 minutes. Usually more like 20-30 minutes depending on getting the last spot filled and trying to convince every yellow ping they need to reconnect. I shudder when someone tries to get a 4v4 game going as I feel that is just asking for pain - you know someone is going to drop. 3v3

I voted Other... I was walking through our new WalMart Supercenter wit the kids, checking out the surprisingly decent PC gaming section (compared to EB which has always been a staple back to my C64 days but has now degraded into a more console-oriented store... and especially when compared to other big-box retail stores like Target) when I stumbled onto the box. I was actually checking to see if they had the new Star Wars game (they did) and end

Ezlbeth - I get the same I also get the 'Never' for time when I am clicking on Projects to see what I'd like to build.. when I actually select something and lay it down I get an accurate time. Otherwise I have seen nothing else wrong and am thoroughly enjoying this Beta..

This type of lookback requires that you suspend time for a bit and try to put yourself 'back in the day'. What game(s) REALLY had an impact on me? I have gone back in recent years and pulled out my old Atari 2600 and the large case of games I have packed away with it. I think I sat down for an hour and went through 30-40 cartridges. The only game I could really stand to play for more than a few minutes ended up being Keystone Cops. My ga

What a problem to have.. I have been on a WoW kick for about a year... not really deviating much to play other games, mostly because I was just not interested. Saw a retail box for GalCiv II. Went home and did a little reading...went back and bought said box and now finally I have something that takes me away from WoW (although the constant grind through BWL tends to wear you down as well... the focus has gotten fairly narrow now). Suddenly O

I have notuced that when I take over a computer controlled planet the AI has frequently built a number of embassies. I usually have rebuilt the planet to what I think I need but I have recently been thinking that there must be a reason for this. Do other players build more than one embassy and if so, what is the game effect? Also, I wanted to clarify something that I thought I understodd but after reading X # of posts I'm not o s
