Why are you looking for support to return the game or not? If you don't like playing in its present form or are unable to play due to connectivity issues, either return the game or sit on it while things are worked out. If you still need some type of consensus or support from someone else before you make a decision with what to do with your own money, I would put more stock in one of your buddies thoughts than random community members.

Router upgrade question in Demigod Technical Support Demigod Forums

I have been thinking about upgrading my router for awhile and my recent ups and downs with DG have spurred the process on a bit. The upgrade I have ben looking at is the Linksys WRT54GL - very positive reviews, especially paired with third party Firmware like DD-WRT or Tomato. Are you able to play any matches at all or does it happen every time? The internet dropping is an issue that has affected a group of people since the patch on 5/14. (another issue from that patch is large lag spikes for some which may or may not be related to the first issue). Are you able to move your computer temporarily to test it directly plugged into your router? My guess is that the issue is unrelated to wireless - something about that recent patch is causing

/renew doesn't work for this.. at least for me. Tried it a few times last night and the ip never resolves. Rebooting the computer fixes the problem though (and for me it is all network connections - I can't do anything online until I reboot). I first started doing modem/router reboots but found that a windows restart is all that is needed. Still - it didn't start happening until the 2nd most recent update. You are not alone Murazor. I first noticed this the other night as well. I played a couple games and during an attempt to join a game my game froze. I had to force DG closed and my internet was shot. Hard reset my router and modem to get them wworking again. Happened again last night while i had NetMeter running and it seems that I am getting a massive spike in UL and DL data which apparently my computer/network cannot handle.

I have a question for those affected by this: Are you running and VOIP software as well? I was just looking a little further into Skype and I need to do a little testing with NetMeter it appears. I would like to have some data as well from before this latest patch but once I get home and get some numbers together I'll put them up.

It sounds to me likethe actual requirements once in-game could not have changed as Frogboy's latest post states that SD deals with all of the connections up until the game launches and then passes off to DG (GPG). However (and I am just speculating - this is not my field) could thhere be some residual activity happening with the original connections? It just looked to me like my connection was throttling. Interesting. That happened to me as well daKillJoy... After my failed 4v4 I joined another 4v4 to see.. same result. Next I joined a 3v3 which played well. Not the smoothest game i have played but decent. After that match I tried to join another 3v3 and my game froze once I clicked the Join Game button. I started having this same problem last night! I hosted a 4v4/5v5 room and ended up going 4v4. When the game launched I checked connectivity and made a comment that it would be a good game as pings looked good and simspeed was all 9-10's. Then the whole game started lagging to the point of futility. When I looked at pings it looked like everyone was jumping from 80-100 up to 300-400. I would like to get some user reports on their upload/download speeds for 3v3, 4v4 and 5v5 games.
