Thanks for posting. :) I have been beaten up by Janook before. I have never really given Rook a try but I think I need to - if only to better learn why he beats me.

RAWRRRR has had the best advice so far....
There is a FREE public vent which you can hop in and tell your friends to hop in. chi05.hurricanehost.com, port : 4636 , no password
This is literally a one-time 5-minute set-up process. After that it takes anywhere from 3 to 4 seconds to launch ventrillo before starting DG. There is a "Waiting for a game" lobby available right on this free (thanks CalltheVoid) server. As people pop in they can s
This post is a really good answer for every player that is concerned about "Premades", "PuG-stompers" (two different things) and communication. For the cost of a free download and a couple minutes of set-up you can have instant voice communication with your entire team. I have used this server a fair amount in the past week or so and I would like to give a big thanks to CalltheVoid for opening it up to everyone. You do not need a mic to listen to the team chat
Not a solution to Pantheon games.. but the public vent server/balanced custom games have been going very well. http://forums.demigodthegame.com/365726 It is not always quick to get a game going but with everyone on the same page (i.e. being there for a balanced game) there seems to be more patience to get things set-up appropriately and you end up having both teams on voice chat. Every game I have played this way s
Check out this post: http://forums.demigodthegame.com/365726 Has been going well but will always benefit from more :)
Going to try and get insome more of this tonight. I had jumped on earlier last night and started a room with little luck. After the big 5v5 it was ~1:15 EST and I had to get up somewhat early :( I think that there have been enough ppl the past 2 nights that we can start to keep games going without pacov's direct intervention, although any time you have to give definitely helps ;)
I played in games 1 and 2. It definitely took a little time to get everyone on the same page. People would join the lobby, not want to deal with ventrilo and then drop. Amazingly the first burst of 5 people stuck around the entire time. Eventually we had enough for 4v4 and pacov/Bugger worked out how the teams would best be stacked. We moved around a little based on overall games played I believe. A few people had 100+ games while a group of us were around
Great job! I'll pop in when I am able to get on. People I have played with w/vent have stopped playing so this is great :)
The odds of playing with that purple gobbler do not look good... http://ycorpblog.com/2009/09/29/how-we-made-our-anthem/
Well, I would say that there are a group of players that seem to lose all hope of continued existence if they do not end up with a Win.. a group that has no hesitation about verbally and visciously calling out any mistake they might assume you have made.. a group that will comment negatively at each stage of the game if the choices you make do not line up with the ones they would have made if they were only able to multi-box and play with themselves... But, luckily there is also
Things like this bring to mind a post Frogboy made about lobby stats. I think he was talking about what he would like to see rather than what we will see (as of now). Basically just more info in the lobby such as: how many times has this player played in a game with players on his/her team, ladder rank, etc. Average sim speed would be nice to see as well. I hope this type of additional information makes the cut. Notes are nice, and handy, but there is some
eofefgh1989 has been known to setup accounts in order to discredit his arch nemesis Kevinabcd1988 sometimes playing upward of 80 games with the account to increase plausability. Frankly it is disgusting and Kevin I am sure the entire Demigod community is behind you in your fight for justice.
That's funny!
hehe...nice
9/26 6:30 PM Total of 2261 players since the reset. +309 active from 9/25 1 - 815 34,006 - 35,452 (=816 - 2261)
9/25 9:20AM Total of 1952 active players since the reset. 1 - 739 34185 - 35398 (= 740 - 1952) So if your rank is 34185 on the Top Players List you are actually ranked #740. I just took out the 33,446 people that have not played since the reset.
Looks like right now there are 633 active players above the mass of inactives and 952 after the mass. Total of 1585 active players. 1 - 633 34,394 - 35,346 So instead of 34,632 I am realistically #871
Yes, it would be nice if there were a way to remove all inactive players from the list. I think it would mean that someone who jumps back into the game would start at 1k.. so the first game would bring them either just over or just under 1000xp.
Quoting msnt, reply 7 most definitely not, i have a 233-55 win/loss record and dropped to ladder rank 35,000 essentially, from ~400. the hell is that? Well if 2 losses does that to ya ill be back to 30k + again soon enough..... Looks like the system is still good for shit because if you loose 100 games but have 300 wins you will still be 30K + from the losses.
Obscenitor answered msnt's post, and your concern,
1) Do we know anything about the weights yet? How many points you stand to gain/lose depending on that persons ranking? Also, how is a 4v4 or 3v3 calculated? If 2 opponents are ahead of me on the ladder and 1 or 2 are way below.. how does that get figured out? I'll read through the wiki link to get a better idea. Just wondering if people had better DG insight. 2) Aren't there plans to add more info to the lobby? I thought I remembered a recent
I did a similar backwards calculation after posting this and found that the range for Regulus is (base) 15. Light towers must be either 15 or 16 then. I started on this topic by wondering what the effective range of Mark of the Betrayer I was. It is listed as 8 but I wanted a visual reference. With Reg's default being 15 I can see what that looks like exactly by sending him up against a tower. Of course, with Mark you have no control over when it goes off.&nbs
I am wondering if there is a good location to find stats such as the range of arrow towers, etc. I looked at the wiki page for buildings but there is nothing very specific there. I thought I had seen a post about this awhile back but cannot find it. Thanks for any help.
