Elemental not in the same company as Civilization 5? What planet you been living on? The real one? I would be amazed if elemental comes close to achieving the sales level of a civilization game, or having the same awareness or recognition levels at the moment as the civilization series. It might be a similar type of game, it might gain a better critical reception(+be a better game), but only the most ardent fan would expect it to sell as much as a civi
Quoting Mauxe, reply 202Right now it is Sins: Diplomacy and Demigod. Same here....and next month I'll be outta gaming funds cuz of FF13
I am a couple weeks away from picking up a PS3. I have not had a console for years.. PS1 I believe. Has not been my cup of tea for the most part but I am looking fwd: to playing many of the games it has to offer. PC versions will always be safe..I'd be very bummed if I owned Oblivion

Just played through a bit of Bioshock 2. I think that I don't dislike the story too badly. I was a bit apprehensive after reading some comments and while it just won't top the first game, it has some merit so far. They certainly throw you right into the story. At the start of the first game when you took that biosphere down from the surface and that splicer jumped onto the front of it... that set the mood. That game was very suspenseful for me.&nb
all for $50 if you buy by feb 19th. also great deal because you get co of heroes as well.
Wow! That is a great deal of gaming for $50. I will definitely look at it. I have wanted to play quite a few of those in the past but never got around to it...

Can't make the game today.. I actually went to work in all of this snow :( I'll look tonight to see if anyone wants to get a Sins game going. I'll look at DoW as well.. I have never played it but I enjoy RTS.
If we're getting a game this weekend what time will it be?
Tough to say this weekend. I will check on vent around 1:30 or so Saturday afternoon and "possibly" late night as well. Since it is valentines eve on Saturday we are doing the dinner thing then. A superb little restaurant in Mason, Ohio called the Wildflower Cafe'. This guy and his wife renovated an old house downtown into a small restaurant (seats 32). He doe

I am gaming pretty much at night only. 9 pm or later. I have too many commitments at home to get on any earlier. Saturday I may actually have a window at 2:00 PM though. I have been leaving myself in vent whenever I am on at night so feel free to get in touch. Even if someone wanted to get a small refresher game in I'm game.

I'll look for some DG games tonight but will also be open to some Sins if there is interest. Frogboy's summary write-up was very informative. I was thinking that there would not be many MP changes with Diplomacy but it seems that I was wrong.

I loves Bioshock and I am sure I will pick up Bioshock2.. but is it planned to be a MP game? Also - looked over Bad Company and I just don't know. Not sure another FPS like that is my thing. last one I picked up was Borderlands. Different genre but still.. I am going to hone my SOASE skills and my DG skills (need MUCH honing) for a bit. I was toying with SupCom but have not bitten yet.

Well, after getting schooled in a random CP game last night IO fired up Sins to try out diplomacy. Didn't get too far as I was pretty tired but started to get the rust out. Impulse gives the option to run either game and then you can opt to switch to an xpac at the starting screen - does that mean that if I load Diplomacy I am loading the base game plus both expansions? I have some plans with the family tonight and will be watching the game later, but I'll try to be on to

I just got diplomacy and am able to load it up and play. Do you get a BT just for purchasing the game? *edit - seems the 1.0 release went earlier than 2/9 :)
Sounds fun, though I'm weirded out by the name. Is Pacov just a name, like Clan Mikey or Clan George? just a name
Just curious about what is weird about it. Myself, I am not that fond of pet (dog/cat) names that are too similar to cultural people names that I am used to. Jim, Steve, Mike... if someone introduces a dog to me with a name like that I am instantly a bit wary. I suppose I should be wary of the owner more than

I don't have either Sins xpac yet but I'll pick them up for $20. The game is fun. As far as CP goes I jumped into the vent in order to try and get some balanced games going. I took a bit of time off from DG and my stats are all down to 0 right now. I'd say I am at an intermediate skill level. I have always enjoyed the balanced games that pacov and hedgie have hosted. I have no issue with being in the second-tier of membership if that is how things work ou

Um.. is that the part near the pool of water? I believe there is a tunnel down under the water...like 10-15 feet that bypasses the door/gate... been awhile though. Is this the quest? Ultimate Heist? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lx2g4vc5fhs

Well, if you don't want to actually listen to the entire conversation and only want to get to the last bit of information they share before your dialog option shows up you can just keep hitting ESC to bypass each scene of their talk. After a moment their last line of dialogue will display t the top of the screen. Useful if you reload and need to talk to an NPC again.. you can just ESC through and pick the dialogue options you want. Also good for talking to merc

Well, if you still have the game it is worth looking at it again with a few mods. There is one central project that brings a lot of other mods together and makes them play well together... the name eludes me at the moment but essentially it adds a plethora of new creatures, balances the world so that there is a cascade of difficulty right off the bat... adds random travelers to the roads and towns... new armors and weapons... other adventurers to contend with in dungeo

Well, the game is pretty solid on its own. NWN is a great game as well and while I enjoyed the MP aspect at times, it never really made the game for me. DA excels at storytelling and roleplaying. The combat system is solid and fun but it is the character interaction that makes the game. Trying to work MP into the SP game would be tragic I think. I'm not saying that the engine itself would not be fun to play with friends.. but the SP campaign would, in my op

Wow. I have been enjoying the game (albeit slowly) with a few exceptions.... ...but I just finished the Sloth Demon part and I must say that I am impressed. What I thought was going to be a little side quest ended up being an involved and fleshed out time sink. I was enthralled and, I must say, a little disappointed when it ended. Very much looking forward to the next corner...
Quoting Foogsert, reply 150Somewhat sad to see X3: Terran Conflict and NWN2 on so many lists, love em both. NWN2 was initially a horrible game, not for the content, but because it was so poorly programmed. People running ridiculous gaming rigs were getting at most 15 fps, and there wasn't anything particularly ground breaking about the graphics of that game. It took them the better part of a year to fix it all, but after they released a major patch (I forget what version num
