Last night, I tried a full 5v5 on Brothers against computers. While the initial FPS was still a bit choppy, I didn't notice a huge degradation in quality by the end, which is what I saw before these patches. So what seems to have happened for me is that the game doesn't really run better than it used to, but it doesn't run progressively worse over a long game. That's an improvement!

If I run it with /nosound, I get a sim speed of 5 or 6 and the game runs very smooth. If I run it without the /nosound switch, I get a sim speed of 0 or -1, and it's very choppy. This is with the sound quality at Low and the reverb (I think the option is "System Reverb"?) set to off.

Any updates on the /nosound thing, yet? I've more or less shelved the game until I can actually hear it when I try to play it [e digicons]:([/e]

I had it on when I tried to play the game originally, and had slowdown. I turned it off while I was tinkering with settings to see if that would improve it (it didn't...), but left it off accidentally while I ran my DXDiag stuff. I guess it would be something wise turn back on, though [e digicons]:)[/e]

I am having trouble with this issue as well. Unfortunately, I don't recall all of my system specs, off the top of my head (and am not at my home PC), but I am just above the minimum system specs as listed on the box. The motherboard is a GA-M55 Plus S3G (rev 1). I am running with a 64 bit processor (which I have issues with constantly ), but I am running a 32bit copy of Windows XP. I am using the on-board sound card (whatever it is...). I saw a post abo

I think it'd be nice to be able to click on a technology that isn't currently available, and all techs leading up to it would be queued. Or the ability to enqueue a bunch of techs so that I don't have to change it every time I finish one.

I just bought the game the other day, and I had a few thoughts on things I'd like to see implemented in the game. First, on the ship designer screen, could you guys put a slider under the ship components? It's a pain in the neck to have to click a bunch of times to find different parts of my ship. A nice smooth sliding thing would be nice. Second, I'd like to be able to start a new game with an arbitrary planet. When I started a new game the other day, I played as humans. I'm able to ren
