Build 20-100 tiny hulls. Research nano-ripper cannon. Upgrade them all to small ripper ships (costs something like 100000 bc or something). Next turn you're only 2000 bc in deficit and have fleets of small ships with 50-100 attack power. GG Please do not allow updates to extend beyond your -2000 bc limit, it is so abusive.
Forefall
You odn't need medium ships. Tiny fighters with 2 laser cannons and a high logistics ability will let you make fleets of small ships that can effectively damage the Dread Lords. However, on this mission I'd advise you to expand fast, use fast cargo ships with a laser to take out DL transports, and take over that planet ASAP, i.e. before the DL's wipe you.
*bump* Anyone?
What are the actual defensive techs a good civilization gets? What are the actual ones neutral gets? And what weapons do evil civilizations have access too? Is there some place I could find this information?
I played 3 games on tough and it has been anything but. This is without research whoring, but I do use scout cargo ships and single laser cargo ships, but that is so obvious it's hard to imagine it's really abuse. The AI needs to do a MUCH better job of protecting and escorting transport ships. I'm hoping 1.1 will up the difficulty because I hate games that force the computer to be given an artificial advantage in order to defeat them.
I had the same problem. With multiple civilizations, even the dread lords. I'm attacked by mass troop transports. In one instance I killed 10 dread lord troop transports with a fast cargo ship armed with a single mark V laser until it finally escorted the 11th. I managed to kill that, and then it preceeded to send unescorted troop transports to their slaughter. In another game the Torians declared war on me and set about 12 troop transpo
I've had a similar problem where the AI just masses troop transports. WTF? What type of AI is that?
