There's enough to do in GC2 to have to worry about tactical battles as well. I don't completely agree with you Alfonse. Yes, there is plenty to do in GC2...probably enough to warrant there never being interactive tactical battles. However, that is an element that many people find as

This might not be an *easy* tweak, but seems to be the only sanctioned "ideas" forum... I ran across an early post where a player described his own ships (gifted to an AI player) being used against him. It reminded me of a story I heard many years ago about a country using planes the US gave them to attack US Navy pilots. The US pilots essentially hit a kill switch that deactivated the missles fired at them, then blew the idiot
Reminds me of somthing I heard back in the 90's... The US had given planes and weapons to one of the Middle East countries. A couple years later that country decided it didn't like the US any more. There were two incidents where they used the gift planes to attack our planes. Our pilots essentially hit a kill switch that deactivated the missles fired at us, then blew the idiots out of the sky. I don't know if this was real, but find it a
It also makes for some interesting strategic choices. With a planetary defense fleet, do I go for something relatively static with high defenses to offset the fact that I know I'm going to be attacked first? Or do I create a more mobile fleet with wide sensor range and fast propulsion, that can get the drop on an invading force?
agree with Tototot. There should either be initiative rolls at the beginning of the battle. There should be tech tree options perhaps for modifiers to combat initiative such as stealth systems, pilot training, enhanced ship targetting computers, Oh and while I'm at it, what about manually setting target priorities? </TABL
1) I'm just a lurker at the moment...must wait until my birthday to play the game or wife will kill me. 2) While I somehow missed MOO2 and GC, I've played most every other strategy game until the most recent generation. 3) I've also played the FASA Star Fleet Battles and the Task Force Games SFB (and most of the computer games too) After a week of reading through the forums, journals, game examples, etc. I have the following few co
