Now THAT is what I call a change list! Absolutely amazing, and I'm really pleased I bought this game (and I bought WindowBlinds too ). What I love most is that here is a company that not only includes tens of enhancements, but actively work on improving the AI! That article on "why no multiplayer" just shows how well you understand the market, and just how important the ever under-valued AI is. Not sure why the whole tax thing

Another possible cause for the problem besides RAM (and a RAM problem would more likely result in a crash IMO) is a problematic background process, anything from Windows creating the File Index/System Restore Point/Quick Defrag to a mouse driver causing issues (as I had with Baldur's Gate II so long ago) or even a resident spyware program.
High population lowers morale IIRC. You're better going with Market Centres early on I've been told.
Like players who think everyone plays online, you're guilty of commiting the crime of erroneous assumption, in this case that the average player is anywhere near your level. Publishers really do seem to forget that 80% of their customer base doesn't go online and so having an excellent AI is going to be a selling point Publishers ar
Might I say though that having a "dumb" AI labelled as "Normal" is rather mis-leading, and is probably the reason that the didn't RTFM crowd would think less of the AI. Unless you're individually tailoring the AI levels in a sandbox game, there's no way to know what the various difficulties mean as I don't recall them being documented anywhere. I only know Painful = Top smarts, no cheats, because I setup a sandbox game like that and checked each AI opponent. I bought the game becaus
16. When in a team (which I assume means it is permanent?) the AI should gift you every tech it researches. AIs should decide amongst one another which research paths to follow and then share. If I'm wrong about teams being unbreakable, please ignore this. 17. Allow us to see on the colony manager which planet currently had which focus.
It appears that you cannot scrap a ship while it is orbiting a planet, but you cannot launch a colony ship while it is empty. In effect you have to load a person into it, before you can destroy the ship (killing the colonist).
Oh I think there's some projecting going on there my friend. I suspect it's a much smaller number. You have spending. Spending goes into 3 areas, military, social, research. You have 3 sliders. I don't think that many people are baffled. If they were, you wouldn't have the occasional post about it, it would be everyw
I have to say, this whole system smacks of the Ork resource system in Dawn of War: needlessly complicated. techn0mage's system really does sound like the most logical approach to tackling the problem.
Like in real life, the Norad treaty lets both Canada and USA share the same Radar coverage of North America Also you should be able to buy galaxy maps Real Life != Good Gameplay
Hmmm, don't most stores (ESPECIALLY Wal*Mart) expressly forbid photography of any kind in their stores? If you let that sort of thing stop you then you don't deserve to win
Then I'd ask for a configurable research speed option. 13. Ability to disable fog of war and shroud. 14. Option to see what your teammates see. 15. Option/treaty to see what your allies see.
Targetting the transports and allow ships to attack it first would make a nonsense of fleets. If you're flying with a transport do you a) Fly in a protection formation about it or b) Use it as a scout thus allowing it to be hit first. I don't think B makes any sense, and I'm sure the enemy fleet WANTS to target the transport, but I'm sure the fleet protecting it has other ideas.
That's the point, that you can't research them all so you have to make tough choices. Of course, there's a "flaw" (tech trading abuse) in the mechanics of the game which means it's relatively easy to get everything, but still...
If an anomaly is in the space ships would normally launch to from a planet, they just appear in a different space... unless they're a survey ship, in which case they share the space on launch and in the details window is listed the ship and a black box. Setting your ship to Auto Survey has no effect and you need to move the ship to another space before Auto Survey works (the ship then moves back to the anomaly and surveys it)
1. Ability to scroll with arrow keys, with a seperate configurable slider for speed. 2. when changing social and military spendning on a planet (the focus) I can see how that affects the relevant time. I would like my current research to be visible on the planet screen so I can see what affect, if any, changing my focus to research will have. 3. Ability to stop the game focusing on another ship/fleet after the end of a combat or move (and it doesn't always do this... wierd
The system as it stands is flawed, but disabling tech trading is heavy-handed. Having limitations like "only trade with allies" is silly because that's a very artificial limitation. If you only trade with allies it should because you benefit from doing so. In the end 4X is about looking out for yourself. Now, the question is, do you benefit more from a new tech or from the income you gain from it? The AI *and* the player should have good
It appears 2 is due to a problem I posted here https://forums.galciv2.com/?ForumID=162&AID=107990
Just got my hands on the collectors edition, but I've run into a few problems. Resolved most of them, but a couple remain: 1. I bought my copy in the UK. I entered my CE code to generate a serial number. I then entered both serial and CE codes into the registration page. For some reason it kept telling me my CE code was invalid for that serial, yet on the downloads page I found a download for CE content. Did it work?? 2. I at
I've found a couple of bugs which aren't in-game as such... sort of. Problem It is possible to create a password for your account which doesn't work in-game. Reason The site accepts symbols in the password, but the game doesn't allow them. Problem : Unable to post for forums even though logged in "You are not authorized to perform this action.
