I colonize them normally. The population doesn't matter, no matter how much they have, the influence from planet is always 0. Is this just the way it is for home system planets beyond the initial world? It seems the same happens to Mars when playing as the Terrans, or to any other home system secondary planet. Is it a bug, or an intentional design decision?

Playing TA, and I'm editing my home star system just for fun to start with a couple of extra good planets. These planets inevitably have very low influence, the breakdown on the planet screen always says "0 from planet". Any other planets I colonize in other systems get an appropriate planet influence. It's the same in the most recent beta.

Seems to be a bug in the planet quality code.. This planet was fought over a bit, I took it, lost it, and reconquered it a few times.. My custom race has a planet quality bonus and is neutral and apparently the PQ bonus is being applied each time I conquer the planet, increasing it's quality every time it changed hands, resulting in this class 97 monstrosity.

I'd like to see combat ships given the ability to bombard planets, not to destroy the colony but to soften it up for invasion by killing a small percentage of the population with each turn of bombing.. You couldn't destroy a colony since as the population drops the amount of damage would as well, but it would add a lot to the game since you'd have to be concerned about those non-invasion capable fleets reducing your population... Make bombing use up a whole turn, and cap the damage a

J Fishman, Yes exactly, I sent Cari a save game demonstrating that exact problem.. I had many planets where the PQ of the planet was greater than the number of available tiles on the planet. See the bugs forum post "Case of the missing tiles". Hope there'll be a fix in 1.3, currently it's the bug that annoys me the most. P

Runs like a dream on my Macbook Pro.. The ATI X1800 chipset in that performs better than my desktop's Geforce 6600. Plus you get to run OS X when you're not playing GalCiv.

Bump? This is a real bug, not a senseless complaint about a design decision like most of the other posts in this section... Anyone? Anyone? Bueller? Bueller?

I believe there is a bug relating to planet quality and the number of tiles available on a planet. In story form since I don't know what's significant: Once upon a time, playing the current 1.2 version, I conquered an enemy planet via invasion. My civilization was aligned neutral, and the planet was a class 12 with no soil enhancement/terraforming performed on it. After conquering the planet, it increased to a class 16 but still has only 12 total tiles available for building. This
