Uhm, maybe you two (Raknor & GmOOmii) should read the story again about GalCiv. When the Humans introduced hyperdrive to the rest of the civilizations, those civilizations had already spend ten-thousands of years exploring the galaxy with probes and such. Removing prior knowledge of this would go against the storyline of the races.
I'd also like to see the possibility to play real time, shouldn't be hard to implement. That would actually be rather difficult to impliment: you'd need pretty much an entire duplicate game engine, AI brain, economic system, and GUI (pretty much a whole game).
I don't think it's that hard. You just assign an amount of units to everything and in turnbased a turn would be x amount of units and in realtime a minute would be x

All I got to say is: Imperium Galactica II A game from 1999 and it did a whole bunch of things better than any other space-based strategy game (including GalCiv2); fleet combat, invasions/ground combat, colonies, planetary defenses, espionage, diplomacy, gridless map, to name a few. Please, go play IGII before you even start coding GalCiv3! I'd also like to

@djcityscapes; you should read my post again, you misunderstood it. @tesb; In the colony's screen, under the list of improvements is a button called 'details' press it and you should find an option to destroy your colony.

One thing that bugs me is the fact that if you destroy a colony, the planet becomes uninhabitable. Perhaps there could be some branch of research the would reduce the amount of pq you loose?

Some more stuff; 1) When naming your custom civilization's homeworld the game also assigns the name to the star your planet is orbiting. Seems illogical. Our star isn't named Earth too now is it? Custom race's homeworld name should only affect the name of the planet. 2) Would like to be able to fight against all factions in a game. Right now I can fight all but 3 races. Though upping it by two would suffice because I'm usually using the Terran tech tree and thus not real

1) Hardpoints; have a look at all of them, a bunch are inverted or off by a few degrees (mostly applies to hulls but some extra's too) Some extras have hardpoints that hang below them, completely unattached to the part itself. 2) The 'box' hulls have the hardpoints pointing forward. I would like to see this changed to all hardpoints pointing away (at a 90 degree angle from the face it is on) from the hull. The hardpoint inside the 'box' hulls can be kept pointing forward. I would l

Valve has introduced local currency into Steam for the Eurozone and what they did is outrageous! All prices have been changed 1 on 1 from the Dollar to the Euro. That means that what used to be $19,99 is now €19,99. Combine that with the weak Dollar ($1 ~ €0,70 / €1 ~ $1,40) and it's pretty obvious that people in the Eurozone are getting stiffed. Now is the time for Stardock to launch an all-out media offensive and take a large bite out of the digital sale
Just to follow up have you had any troubles with downloading or installing? You are able to play the game at this time but you don't have the purchased titles, is that correct?
I haven't downloaded the game in a while. It worked fine back then. I assume with 'purchased titles' you mean physical media? I have not received that yet. And I've already emailed and got a ticket.

Both expansions are placed in their own folder and they each get thier own shortcut. If you want to play Dark Avatar, you doubleclick that shortcut, if you want to play Twilight of the Arnor, you doubleclick that shortcut. In DA you get all the DA content/options and in TA you get all teh TA content/options.
