There's a topic somewhere called 'TotA 101' or something like it. It has a great deal of information about each race it's weaknesses and strong point. With Ascension victory you have to mine special ascension crystals. In order to stop another player from achieving this victory, simply destroy their starbases which are mining these crystals. Or, as you put it yourself, beat the game in less than 999 turns (or whatever amount of weeks still left on that timer).

Another thing that I noticed in TotA; I'm playing on a 1680x1050 resolution and the race videos in the diplomacy screen get stretched, which looks awfull.
1) An option to set the maximum amount of planets that can be colonized per year (percentages of number of habitable planets or all planets). Would ofcourse be for every species. Why? Colony rushes go too fast at higher difficulties in my opinion. 2) Ability to set starting positions. Doesn't have to be that you can set in which sector everyone starts but 'evenly spread out', 'on the edges' and 'in the middle' options would be nice. 3) Galaxy Settings: - Star density; a
I've recently bought DL, DA and TotA and simply love it. There is something though that bothers me a lot. Thumbnail images, the url beneath them are for the larger images. (can't seem the get thumbnails and urls working) 1) http://tweakers.net/ext/f/6ne7pMluiPTbZSnwLmHmEvES/full.jpg Great, now who the hell are these 'Arcean' guys and how can I know about this achievement if I haven't met them yet?
Stephen King's It, when it was that damn clown. Scary clown...Also, the Succubus and Lochness Monsta from Southpark.
Pennywise :CONGRAT:
Don't you want a balloon?
One of my top favourites too. And the alien from Alien ofcourse.
Since the US is the only country I know of where they're being allowed to get away with this shit to start with, you could at least find out the local laws before trying to refute me.Germany is the only country I know of that has declared EULAs illegal - and that only because the buyer cannot read it before purchase. Some countries have passed laws to outlaw specific provisions, but not invalidating them entirely.
Same in The Netherlands. If the EULA can not be read befor
If you're gonna claim Sins was not the first of it's type and name the one that was, do it right. Imperium Galactica came long before Rise of Nations, as did it's sequel IG2. (Though I don't know for sure if they were the first.)
I don't see how simply adding more content to the game improves it. In fact I see no logical correlation in that. Why will 50 ship types with more types of stats attributed to them make the game better?! Why does a gigantic tech tree automatically mean improvement?
It's not about improving the game, it's about prolonging gameplay. It is my experience with different strategy games that once the research is done and you've still got lot's to conquer, the game gets boring fast.<b
Wow guy, some of us play multiplayer, and as appealing as an idea of a month long tech tree is to you, to me it sounds outrageous.
Yeah, I should've noted that I'm not much of a multiplayer-player. I like single-player campaigns and scenarios more. The techtree thing could be easily solved by having two of them, one for singleplayer and one for multiplayer.
Don't get me wrong here, I definately have the urge to buy the game, but it's not what the screenshots and reviews led me to believe it would be.
As for tactics in battles, forget them, a dreadnought and five heavy cruisers let me take out an entire pirate base. Yeah I lost the heavy cruisers but it just shows you don't need tactics. So why all the different ships? It just all comes down to who has the most firepower anyway.
As for this, perhaps there are some tactics
When I first read about Sins of a Solar Empire I got excited. Could there finally be a game that could match my all-time favourite Imperium Galactica II? No, after having spent a few moments on the official website I knew this wouldn't be the case. However, it sounded like a game full of potential so I stuck with it, waiting for the demo. Finally the demo came and I installed it. After playing several hours (the 90 minute time limit didn't seem to work in one of my games ) I removed it from
I'm a big fan of space based strategy games so naturally, this one got my attention. However, there is one thing that I'd really like to know: To what other game can SoaSE be compared? (which one does it come close to the most) Imperium Galactica II, Homeworld, Galactic Civilizations II or EVE Online?
