Though I make no speculation on the Thalan I've had the idea that the Precursors are actually Humans and that it's a continuous cycle. The end of this war would result in all other life ending and the Humans becoming the Precursors and seeding the galaxy with life, including their own original 'forms'.

Might as well fill this space up with 'useless' topics [e digicons][/e] [e digicons]^_^[/e] [e digicons];P[/e] So what are you going to name your star and what's the reason for that name (if any) ? I'm going to name my star 'Emmen'. It's my hometown, lived here all my life and am proud of it even though most Dutch people would call it a dump. Edit; why is this topic showing up in the General GC3 subforum? I posted it
I meant, I want to ask questions/reply too :) Plus an IRC applet can be integrated into the site and use a similar login like the Fouder's Vault; Staff and Founders would be able to ask/reply and non-founders would only be able to read (or would not even be able to do that, NDA stuff and such).
The image and title/menu music seem to work normal with a direct click, the other two songs however are presented as GalCiv3-A.htm
Yes, but I don't want to just read ;)
I hope you do it on other media too. I don't have a reddit account and am not getting one either.
Hmm, the GC3 Menu Music sounds very "Star Trek Movie"-ish. And that's a good thing, don't change it! I love the music from the movies (1 - 10) [e digicons][/e] Also, when I try to download, it downloads as an aspx/html file and not mp3. Room for improvement there.
I was wondering if there is a possibility we founders might get a Q&A IRC session with the crew? And maybe post the transcript later on in the Journals section? Just thinking that it might save you guys some time from browsing and answering questions on the forums. Plus, it's a little extra for the founders, seeing as the alpha is still probably a few months away ;)
3D Colony screens.

Say no to 2D colony screens! Imperium Galactica (1997, and it's sequel IGII (1999)) already had 3D colony screens that worked perfectly. Leave 2D for the UI. Left IG1, right IG2:
Still would like an official statement from Stardock on this.
You already made Stardock happy by buying the elite founder package [e digicons][/e]
Have you ever seen a coastguard ship with those big-ass cannons from a battleship? Hullsize is a proper way to determine what and how much you can put on your ship. Powersupply is another; lifesupport, engines, weapons and defenses all need power. A nuclear reactor provides more power than a diesel engine but would also take up more space. So no, I don't think you should get rid of hull sizes. I do think other stuff should also affect what you can put on your ship an
Uhm, Windows Vista supports 64bit and DirectX 10. So if they support DirectX 10, they will go below Windows 7 ;)
From the FAQ: https://www.galciv3.com/game/faq
Q: Why don’t you support DirectX 9? A: DirectX 10 and 11 allow us to easily have multiple threads touch the graphics card simultaneously. This results in much higher-quality font rendering, makes it a lot easier to support advanced UI scaling, and makes the game less CPU-bound which will be important for giving the artificial intellige
I couldn't resist anymore (Darn you Stardock!!!) [e digicons][/e] Bought the Founder Elite package. And for just €75, it's a steal. Though I'll kick myself when the game plus all it's expansions are available for just $5 [e digicons]^_^[/e]
Haven't played that game.

If it was an event it would halt their progression seeing as they probably no longer have their original boot-up disc [e digicons];P[/e]
Something what ruins games for me is repetitiveness . It makes games boring and drains any will out of me to play the game. Galactic Civilizations II had this problem in big-ass skirmish galaxies; Colonize, develop, expand. And once in a while I'd fight with an enemy. But once you've got your empire functioning properly, there's not much fun in it anymore. I recently bought "Sins of a Solar Empire: Trinity" because the price was low, bu
Hardcoded stuff should be kept to a minimum anyway. Game-mechanics should never be hardcoded. But what's the possibility for events that give side-missions?
That's not really threatening. I'm talking about 'Gimme this or I'll attack you' threats.
In GCII I missed the option to threaten another race. Either just for fun or to get them to do something or give you (or someone else) something.
I could use fraps and make a movie from actual ingame footage, But I'm not that artistic to get those really great shots 'on the fly'. I'd like an option to record a game; not the output of the videocard but the data that is processed (what is where at what time and what is it doing?). You would import this in the editor and it would render the scene. You then determine where you want the camera to be at specified times (timeline editor as in Adobe's flash edito
