Yes, I know, First install Galactic Civilizations II Dread Lords, then the add-ons. But What about the Collectors Edition exclusive content? I installed it after all the add-ons and now everytime I start TotA, a message tells me I have to update Dread Lords first. When I click on 'ok' the game starts normal. So, what is the correct order? At what point do I install the CE exclusive content? I don't use Impulse anymore, I just download the latest versions from the S

Indeed, I was talking about measuring performance. Even in alpha it might be usefull to compare systems with eachother so you can more easily find out where your bottlenecks are. Or for fun; to try and find the worst performing hardware that can still run the game :D

Makes me wish I had a skillset you guys could use so I could work there. Then again, my schizoïd personality disorder and dislike for your country (government mostly) would probably prevent that from happening too [e digicons][/e]

Sad to say, I'm accustomed to forums behaving differently. Maybe I don't visit enough different forums, maybe Stardock is just being quirky. My main experience comes from the GalCiv2 forums and more recently the GalCiv3 forums so I'll use the latter one as an example. - Recent posts: I'm on the GalCiv3 forum, why am I seeing posts from other forums? I replied in a StarControl topic, thinking it was a GalCiv3 topic. If I want to see StarControl topics, I&
Is it me or do both ships look like faces? Look at the Yor and the Drengin they have white specs on the top equally spaced showing where eyes are and a middle hull that kinda looks like a nose w/ a small spit near the front appears like a mouth
OMG! They're Transformers!!!!! [e digicons][/e]

Mines are only usefull in small '2D' areas (land-based) and around small 3D objects (space-based). I'd just like to be able to issue an edict to other species (per race, to all major or minor races and to all races). If the warned races violate it, I'd like to be able to warn them and if they ignore it, destroy the offending ship/fleet without starting a full-scale war.

Some thoughts on the MINIMUM system requirements for GalCiv3. Please note that these are NOT official, it's merely speculation. GPU ATi/AMD: Radeon HD2000 series nVidia: GeForce 8000 series These are the first generations to support DirectX 10. They were released about halfway through 2007 (about 1.5 years after GalCiv2). Looking at the specifications,

I don't have intimate knowledge of GalCiv2's AI and as such I don't know what caused the behaviour I described. It might be something simple that finds it's way back in the GalCiv3 AI. So I do think this thread has a point. Also, a Ford Pinto vs a 2014 Fusion is not the same as GalCiv 2 vs 3.

I've been playing GalCiv2 again while waiting for the Alpha of #3. And there's one retarded bit of behaviour from the AI that stands out to me, it always has. I'm on a map with the Drengin and Altarians at normal intelligence and some others that don't matter for this story. The Alterians have a starbase (resource harvesting) in Drengin space. Then the Drengin declare war and send over a ship or fleet to the Alterian starbase. They park it next t

Well, I just found out GalCiv2 has a massive error! Apparently, green stars do not exist; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YlIJl2_ncJQ So, maybe not include them in GalCiv3? Also, will we be seeing binary/trinary etc star systems?
