Trespassing feature could be used like this : - When you have no treaty at all with the AI, both of you can pass each other teritory, and can attack to each other (of course, will impact to both parties relation), then you can have a non aggression treaty that both party can't trespass each other territory (just like in Space Empire V).

Champion is indeed a problematic case in Elemental Game. First, if they are too strong, they can become a one man army, then if they are weak, then they are pointless. Plus, to make the purpose of champion to become a pure magic user will make FE the Heroes Might & Magic clone (so why put the champion as a unit in battle if his / her role in battle is only to cast magic spell? At the end, they will become the same general as HOMM heroes - not a bad idea, but FE should be a unique entity i
I think having full-featured MP is the best option, though that depends on what resources are required for it. It shouldn't be heavily supported though. Maybe listing what would be cut if you did that , so the fanbase could see what the option is, would be for the best. FE would be cut before we re-did the entire tactical battle system to make it MP friendly. It's would require a total rewrite and add probably a

And I certainly don't have a bone to pick with you or anyone else for that matter. My specific bone of contention is with the RCC and Co. ... pure and simple. After a while (for me) religion blends into Catholicism as I have been 'chatting' with them for a couple of years. I appologize if there was a confusion ... I guess it happens when you comment on many diff
One thing about Noah's age and all time spans given before Exodus: I have no idea how the Akkadians measured time and distance and whether those words translate exactly into Hebrew. It is quite possible that Moses wrote down the stories using Hebrew cognates of the original Akkadian words but which really meant a different thing by then. For example, if you assume that the Hebrews counted years and the Akkadians counted mo
@Riddleking : Science can't neglect the existence of god and religion cant neglect science to explaining his existence. Its both super natural and science. The quest to answering the existence of god is too complex because we can't even explain why we exist in the first place and why god exists and decided to create the universe. Well, no one know the reason why God decided to create the universe. My logic can'

I'm curious : About the story of Noah Ark, Was it Noah himself who write the story? Or was it a folk Lore that been told from mouth to mouth for generations before it was written? I think it is not relevant for us today to discuss about this story as a historical material, or as a fact, but more of morale teaching that it offer to the readers of the story. Well, I'm sure the writer didn't aim us, modern people who have a lot of materials to deny such story. but, long or sh
an ancient Chinese philosophy, I Ching State / said : If you believe, then it will be real; but if you don't believe on it, then it will be nothing. It is better if you believe, because it doesn't cost you anything. Who know, it is true at the end. It came from the book of I Ching. A book of the teaching of Dao Tze Ching. So, at the end, this is our choice to believe or not. It doesn't cost you anything to believe in God. Well, unless you go to church every

Interesting old thread. After reading some old posts, I can say, once again : interesting. But I have some issues here : 1. The problem of whatever God is exist or not is... not the existence of the God himself, but more about the concept of the religion that tell us about the existence of God. 2. Religion is a knowledge that founded, expanded, implemented, and learned by the people of the past. If we consider Religion as science, it is a
yes, balancing is the most important here. Do the best you can! But, don't forget when balancing the weapons and armors, balance it so we (players) can apply strategy and tactical theory like Sun Tzu art of war or Clauzewitch "on war" here. You don't have to make "formation feature", but you can make that "battle formation" is important in both of tactical and strategy section. Well, it is not that hard programming, because you just need to tweak the "attack, defend, movement" value t
There are lot of obvious solutions to these problems. FE is quite a bit different than other tile based games in that the world is really REALLY dangerous. It's not like Civ or WOM or what have you where there's an occasional threat. It's more like an obstacle course of threats. The world is out to kill you hard. And since I write the monster AI too, I am doing my best to make sure they're really good at killin

Just want to say that not everybody love challenge. Some people hope for extreme AI, while the others just want to enjoy the game. If the AI is too difficult to the second type of people, they will consider the game as a bad game. You just need to make a standard but fun AI for Beginner, Easy and Normal AI, and give everything out to the level beyond that. Players shouldn't blame the developer for easy AI if they play in easy or normal AI; because they should go to the hardest one.
Like the title, I try to discuss about the problem that actually come from the WOM from the first place. Yes, we all know that EWOM is actually lack of focus. But, this thread is not about to blame the developer about this. We discuss, and try to understand about the core of our problem Let see. We know that EWOM have a lot of feature, it was the spiritual successor of Master of Magic, and (I think), a merge between Galciv 2 and MOM (this is my personal opinion). The problem is, non o
Ok, let's us count : 1. Universe is big, so how many planets that you think habitable? say in percentage as I don't believe someone can count it (please tell the probability) 2. How big is the chance that a smart lifeforms born from those planet? 3. How big is the chance that the smart lifeforms exist until space age 4. How big is the chance that the space age Alien able to create a starship that capable to move faster than speed 5.
Just because we don't know doesn't mean there wasn't anything extraordinary happening.Well, we can assume that Alien is existed somewhere in the corner of our galaxy. So what about God? You believe that God doesn't existed. But what if we can't find him / her just because we don't have the technology to find him / her? Like Amoeba or virus. We don't know that they are existed until we have microscope.
what if it work like this : 1st champion : basic payment gildar 2nd champion : basic payment gildar x 2 3rd champion : basic payment gildar x 3 4th champion : basic payment gildar x 4 ..................... .................... 10th champion : Basic payment gildar x 10
But the problem remain. People will tend to make a winning group contains of champions and forget about the ordinary unit. Instead of one unit of champions, they will make two or three or four, but units will still ignored.
I don't know about the city, but this topic remind me on of KOEI game that I played recently. The idea is to put defensive structures in strategic location, like archery tower, etc. And these structures will fire at the enemy before they come to the town centre. To avoid terrible lost, the enemy should destroy the tower first, and the defender can manned the tower with their soldiers to protect it.
Civ V expansions have nothing to do with him.
Well, at least it's still called civ 5 :P For civilization 3 and 4, I prefer civilization 3 to 4. Why? Because a lot of early units are useless in 4, as you can get better units before you can even make these units useful in combat. Civilization 5 is still better than 4 and comparable to civ 3. You don't agree? Up to you, not my concern :P
