Furthermore, nobody yet explained why the alpha isn't distributed through SDC, are you avoiding the answer? Do you have a short term memory issue? Do you not remember me telling you that we are switching systems and will not be running them in tandem? We're moving to Impulse. We're not going to continue to release through SDC. Why is this so hard to understand?
What IS hard to understand is why, considering that Impulse isn't out of beta yet,

You can save your theme but by clearing cache you will also reset your sys tray tab images (if you have that tab) back to default ones.
Again, iVAN ....you cannot have it both ways. You may wish to claim I'm being pedantic but "I am not telling you how to do your job." precludes what follows. In fact it precludes most of what went before....as well....
If you choose to interpret it that way then fine. What anybody failed to address are why my suggestions/demands are unreasonable. Furthermore, nobody yet explained why the alpha isn't distributed through SDC, are you avoiding the answer?
iVAN WILDER it's probably wise not to contradict yourself. Either "that is true", or it is untrue.
If bugs are there then it's reasonable to expect and demand a fix. Whether they are in a form of a beta or a stable patch doesn't matter to me as long as fixes and updates are released.
Jeff is a very busy person as of late. He's lucky if we even unchain him for breaks or to go home. He's actually one of the main devs working on Impulse as well as some oth

My expectations of the product that I bought no matter how long ago (as long as there's no time limit or other kind of restriction) is supposed to work 100% is not absurd in the least, it's common sense. While it is at your discretion when and how to provide updates and fixes, it's not at your obligation whether to provide them or not. It's your obligation. I don't mind if you release the final tested patches, but the problem is that you haven't released them yet. When will you walk the walk?<br
Well, when it comes right down to it, I really don't care how you perceive our company compared to other companies.
I'm sorry, but that's truly pathetic. You allowed yourself to say that Stardock is better than most companies so it's only fair that I'm allowed to question that by drawing comparisons to other companies and making conclusions from that.
All you have done is complain that you don't like the delivery system for the alpha.
That
Technically, you can't have both SDC and Impulse. You have to uninstall one before installing the other.Actually iVan, I went on SD irc and asked to be sure. As long as Impulse is in beta, you can still use SDC. And for the updates.... SD is going to update the most popular software first. Unfortunately, that does mean some of my personal favorites (as well as yours) are going to be pushed lower on the update list. This in no way changes the fact that SDC is still more widely dep
Also, IconPackager doesnt work, you know when that comes for 64 vista?I've heard "soon" for IP. Nothing for OD
That's one of the reasons why, despite having Quad-Core CPU, I upgraded to 32-bit Vista and not 64-bit.
You know, I run OD+ every single day. With no problems. I have had no problems out of Impulse since I downloaded it. Updates? No problem... I just click the update button. In fact, Impulse works so well that I haven't opened SDC since installing Impulse.Oh, and as much right as you have to use software that works 100%, you also have the right NOT use it too. If you're that unhappy with SD, don't renew. Christ, you act like SD OWES you betas that work perfectly and updates once a week. Gue

@ KarmaGirl: Do you mind explaining why you've completely failed to address my point that there are company(ies) and individual(s) out there whom i do/don't pay for software, but they are still more dedicated and more customer focused than you are? @ Zubas: My apologies, I've confused you with Seabass. It's all very well saying that you don't set timelines and that demanding is the way to go. However, there is such thing as reasonable period of time when it comes to up

Since Stardock has many sources of revenue, it makes it easier to pay the license fee to Adobe. As such, part of my payment for OD+ contributed to the cost of the license for Photoshop. If you're aren't satisfied with Adobe's update policy then take it up with them. Yes, I paid that amount 2 years ago. Yes, it was good value for money 2 years ago. I didn't assume I was entitled to updates. I think it was Zubas from Stardock Support who said that he felt that it's a customer's right to e

So you're blaming the OS and drivers? Perhaps, instead of trying to pass the buck around, you'd work with Microsoft and driver developers to make sure that your products do work with all the updates. The problem is that for the past almost 2 years OD worked properly, but as you'd introduce more features it gets more complex and likeliness of problems is likely to increase. As such, problems arise and you need to solve them. So far, you've failed to do so. It seems that you're admitting

If I recall correctly, then one of Stardock support representatives said in one of the threads here that I also have a right to expect what I've paid for to work properly. How would you address that point? I'm not comparing apples and oranges. Just as you said, ObjectDock is a standalone product, but so is WindowBlinds. I can be part of ObjectDesktop subscription but it doesn't have to be. Since it's not a mandatory part of ObjectDesktop then why is it treated differently in terms of up
One pays for a released product. Not alpha or beta. That's what you bought. Anything else is extra. If it doesn't work . . ask for a refund and be done with it. No need to demand, no need to threaten. Express yourself with your wallet and move on.You have traded cash for product (and some services). If you don't like it . . discuss with sales what value you have gotten and what product you have received and try to find what you really deserve. This is a private matter and shouldn't be

Seabass, you see that's the problem: lack of information. You don't know why they are distributing it that way and nobody from Stardock who knows is able or willing to shed some light on the matter. Just leaves us to speculate that it's probably because Stardock is trying to entice us to buy/extend Object Desktop. You say that "many new releases, updates, and publishings are taking place" are made, but herein lies a problem. Those updates are stable releases or significant upgrades and Object Do
That is the call for the developers on how they want to publish the updates...
I'm afraid it's not their call. We buy the software = we sign their paychecks. I won't ask for them to put it on a DVD and mail it to me though. The SD Central is a widely-distributed tool with many more users than Impulse is at the moment. Therefore, it makes no sense not to make it available through SD Central as well. I'm not asking, I'm not suggesting, I'm demanding, because I don't see why
The code for the free version is older than the Plus version. You can wait for it to be updated, find a close city with weather data, or buy the plus version.
What I'm surprised at is that there's no indication on ObjectDock product page that the Free version gets updated less frequently than Plus version. Is that an internal assumption that people who use Free version shouldn't expect as many updates? In the comparison table on this page: https://w

To make my point even bolder, I did some digging. It's a little ironic that in a month and 2 days it will be exactly a year since the latest update (1.9) to ODP has been made. In stark contrast, people who are WindowBlinds users last year not only got 2 significant updates (5.5 and 5.51) but also a couple of betas of WindowBlinds 6, not to mention much hyped-over release of a stable WindowBlinds 6. What did ODP users get within almost a year? A couple of betas and that's all. What astou
