An answer wont probably be forth coming this weekend, as I believe most SD staff are off til tuesday.
Of course, we're all allowed to celebrate Easter ;) Fingers crossed that when the answer does come (aka some time next week), it'll be the one we want to hear.
Having the same problem with vista ultimate 64bit...quote] ODP doesn't support 64-bit OSes (yet, maybe, who knows...)
Nobody knows anything these days, it seems. I would also appreciate 64-bit support because in less than a month I'm going to be upgrading my system and 64-bit stuff looks awfully tempting...
I've always been aware how people with the same setup can have different problems with the same software...who knows why...but I had no idea they would have that many. So I feel for ya bud...it would drive me nutz too. As far as the lockups...really not sure whats causing that...I have the same problem...but not all the time. But hopefully they'll get it fixed soon.
It's just it's been half a year since last update and that's a beta we're talking about, so the main releas
Damn iVAN WILDER!I had no idea people were having "that" many problems with ODP
I think it was about time someone summed up their problems in one message so those people who keep on saying that they don't have any problems will see the other side of the coin
As far as your one problem with files or folders locking up...I've had that happen as well....not sure if its from ODP...but here's a handy little tool you can try out that might help...
What are these "substantial" bugs?
Let the dissection begin...*cracks fingers and rolls up sleeves* 1. Start menu isn't rendering properly (using Stardock's own orb) 2. Moving cursor in start menu without clicking causes temporary no-response in side docks. 3. [Request] Being able to display items from system tray in any tabbed or normal dock. 4. Saving/packaging a theme doesn't save images for system tray icons. 5. Doesn't display nVidia's icon f
I run the most recent Beta. It works well for my needs. Typically when SD takes a extra bit of time get the newest release or beta out, it's usually for a good reason. Lets not also forget, they are working on it with a new platform, so the bits will take a bit longer as folks get used to trying to work within the new OS's capabilities/limitations. Especially if it is fighting the devs the whole way.I will say ive heard rumor that OD1,91k[a].024, has been seen for download in Impuls
Some times fixes and patches take time depending on the amount of extras and fixes they are including. Not to mention they may have other hotter fires burning, that need tending to first. I realize patience is no longer a virtue in the world, but please try to remember OD is not really broken, so the "rush factor" may not be as critical to the devs at the moment, as it is to you IMO the little nuances OD has are minimal and livable till they get the next killer release out
<b
Clearly you didn't see the build number of OD+ that I've mentioned. See that "[b]" bit? It means beta. I was so happy with the product that it occurred to me "Why not be a beta tester to make it even better?". That's something positive, won't you say? I'm never hypocritical. I always say how I feel. Fact is that forums are places where people can express their views about products and negotiate with people about problems they might be having. What also makes us different is that I did pay for my
Guys, please take it seriously. My SD Central is telling me that last time my OD+ was updated on 5th of October 2007 (version 1.90i[b].020). That's almost FIVE(!) months ago. There is not a piece of software on my machine that hasn't been updated in that period of time apart from OD. That's really bad. And we are talking about a beta, not a stable release. The current beta version of OD has many bugs that need fixing (that's why it's called a beta) but the clock keeps ticking but all we are gett
My apologies for the wait. While we don't like making people wait we are working on many, many new projects. I can say, for one, things are going at a feavor pitch around here. Please be aware that ODP is not even slightly forgotten in all of these updates and new releases.
If I remember right then it's soon to be 3 months since the latest beta. I was kind of hoping that it would be a continuous process. You know, we report bugs, you fix them and update the beta so we can
No there is no full ETA. Currently the main Developer is working on a very large project with OD+ update as well. There is also a debate going on into what will be going into 1.9whatever and 2.0.I am very sorry to tell you that it's still ASAP.
I wonder if that main dev is Jeff B to whom my reports of crashes have been emailed for many a week? I just hope that OD+ won't descend into the ranks of Duke Nukem Forever. Good start though, what Seabass seems to be sayi
Of course. Just so you know there is a beta update in testing right now. It isn't released to the public yet but should be very shortly. No set dates but very soon. Betas in this sense are more like "Here we think this works well... anything go bad?". Not in the sense that "Here this is broken tell us why". If that was the case all beta testers could demand a salary. You do however get our eternal gratitude. <img id="ImageResize_Image_2" onload="ImageResizer.c
Would also be nice to have a refreshed beta on SD Central. I know it's coming up to Xmas but the world doesn't stop because of that . . and OD isn't the only product that needs attention
Sure, it isn't. I also hope that just because it has lower userbase (I assume!) than WindowBlinds then
No tabbed docks I am afraid. That has been a well logged request. Sorry for that.
So since this has been requested so much then why not implement it? I'm sure I'm not the only one who get weather info for more than 2 places, so just as tabbed docks are great for storage of shortcuts for apps, games etc why not make it also a storage place for weather docklets? Many people have clocks in multiple timezones on their de
Just as I suspected...I still get timeout problems when it comes to the weather widget and I really hope you can make it flyout for tabbed docks as well please :)
OK, I've used the updated beta for a week or so and so far so good. All the probs I had gone away. Though it would have been good to indicate in the data for capitals of countries. For example: searching for Paris gives amongst the results Paris (capital, France) or something like that. Thanks very much and I hope the final is not too far away....
This is getting out of control. It's been 2 weeks and I haven't got a reply for my support ticket. If the relationship with Accuweather is suffering and it is impacting the users then how about combining or switching to another provider? OD+ is definitely worth the money, but whether you pay because of 1 specific feature or a whole bunch it makes this one problem the weakest link and people will continue to exploit it. We are continuing to remind the developer
I know it is beta, but you are supposed to fix bugs we tell you about and give us something that works properly Aren't we paying them to make our priorities their priorities? This might be getting too ugly for the forums and I don't want it to. Create a case for your bug. They'll take all the bug reports, prioritize them according to whatever matrix they have
Come on Jeff? Somebody? No feedback or anything? I know it is beta, but you are supposed to fix bugs we tell you about and give us something that works properly Our priorities are not always theirs. I'm sure it'll get fixed. Aren't we paying th
This is getting tiresome...why do i have to restart every time i want to get the feed back? Come on Jeff? Somebody? No feedback or anything? I know it is beta, but you are supposed to fix bugs we tell you about and give us something that works properly
A reply would be nice...it has been quite a while...
Jeff...it keeps on happening and it is really starting to bug me (hahaha, what a pun!) Please update on what can be done...Thanks
iVAN WILDER: I'll try and do some additional debugging with multiple weather docklets, hopfully i'll be able to see something! thanks You are a top bloke Jeff! Let me know if you will be releasing an update to the beta so I can try it out. Thanks very much in advance
Now this one should get Jeff and his team scratching their heads. I've been using FlashGet to download files and it's been maxing out my connection so much that all the weather docklets I have running (5 in total) have gone blank with a message "Feed not available...please try again later". So what I did was to pause the downloads and manually update each docklet. Guess what? It didn't work! I'm using the latest beta build of OD+ with WinXP Pro SP2. So how do we solve this one?
