10. All American cars are hereby banned. They are crap and this is for your own good. When we show you German cars, you will understand what we mean.
Wow. I have a 1998 Chevy Lumina, and it has nearly 170,000 miles on it. It has been the most reliable car I have ever owned - especially including imports, which have been many. At the last smog check the tech said that it had the emissions of a car with around 80,000 miles. I guess it all depends

Rather dangerous to OC a dated system. The components are already worn, and pushing them beyond their specs will surely burn a few out. And all it takes is one chip to fry to make the entire system toast. In your shoes, I would be happy with what I have until I can get better.

Wow! Nvidia and Stardock teaming up to make sure video drivers are up to date, and to help that very complicated process along. Complicated? You download a file and run it, then reboot. Big whoop. ID, just how much was spent on this 'special edition'? Wouldn't it have been better to simply make a sticky post on the best way to keep your video drivers up to date, especially if you

The best way to mostly avoid the OOM issue is to limit the number of planets and ships. Lowering the graphics will have a minimal effect. Exiting the game every now and then, especially later in the game, wil

I don't know if it because I am on a wireless connection, or just variances in overall usage, but I get very different results when testing between different servers - or even my local San Diego server - back-to-back and one after the other. My upload speeds vary between ~1.1Mb/s to ~2Mb/s. My download speeds vary from around 4Mb/s to ~13Mb/s. My computer is using a wireless connection, BTW. I suspect I would see better speeds if I was wired directly. An

Wow. What a thread this has turned out to be. Personally, I find a lot of what Beck says to make a lot of sense. He asks questions that most of the media seems either unable to ask or are too afraid to ask. How about all these 'Czar's' that are not elected into office, and answer to only one man? How about all the lies that Obama has made - not out of context? Letting us, the people, have 5 days to read and comment on any bill before it is signed by him, for example. N
Right. 3% of a 6.6 billion dollar budget to cover only 45 to 60,000 people is extraordinary.
Let's see... 3% of 6.6 billion is around 198 million. Covering 50,000-60,000 people would be spending around $4,000-$3,300 each? Hasn't the White House come up with figures closer to $6,000 per person per year? Seems like SF is doing something right if they can do it that cheaply . But they are only average numbers, after

Still, you attribute those that are in jail are those that "choose to repeatedly detract from society intentionally." Many are not. I don't "choose to repeatedly detract from society intentionally.", but I may be in jail soon because I can not afford to pay past child support for children (one of whom is not mine) who are all now in their 30's. Would I deserve proper medical care if I go to jail? Or do I deserve to simply suffer and die in jail because she deci

I do. But one can turn from Job into Satan with but one thought and action. And that thought and action, has probably already been thought and done. Beware. Pride standeth, while humility falls.

yngmon When are you going to learn that nothing you have posted has any real meaning? Never fear. It will come. It will come when you do something so outside your own personal boundries that it will so disgust you to the point of rejecting everything that you 'hold so dear'. Mark my words, and remember them.
True but then I'd rather spend it on saving peoples loved ones than forking out millions every year to offer top notch medical care to inmates who wish to go out and actually detract from society intentionally.
And will this change, in any way, with this new 'health care/insurance' reform? No. The new stuff will only add to the cost overall. But, if you can point me to the part(s)

"John Sweeney, president of the National AFL-CIO, said that "despite all the hot air in Washington right now," he's confident real reform will pass soon. He said 250,000 union workers nationwide are being trained to advocate for reform to combat the right-wing push to fight it." Wow. A quarter of a million unio

Aleatoric, well said. HG_Eliminator, 4.4 million over a lifetime of ~74 years amounts to around 60,000 per year. If taken from the 18th birthday, it would be closer to 78.5k per year. And that is with a 'professional degree' (as you put it - something past a Doctoral degree) from the 18th birthday. And the number of people that make such a great impact that is only apparent after thei

So, why do so many people think that this 'high cost of health care' should be paid for by anyone other than themselves? What is the RIGHT!!! to have the highest cost health care, if you can not afford it? What is the RIGHT!!! to MAKE!!! someone else pay for you? This is such a stupid argument. Every 'right' has exceptions. The right to life, except if you have murdered someone - for example. E
