Wow Mek, Capturing ships was one of the most challenging feats in MOO2 ... An early game capture of an Antarian "Maurauder" ....??? Wow My whole MOO2 strategy was to capture Antarian Ships as early as possible. It's the ONLY way I ever played! After a while, you get good at it.

I never used this before. In my latest game on *tough I declared war on the Drengin and They were more prepared than I had calculated. One of my size 20 planets was deep in their territory from early in the game. I had only 5 "Home Defense" ships with particle beams, and one Destroyer with Harpoon II missiles in orbit. The Drengin fleet came and wiped out a fleet of 4 of those Destroyers on the way to my planet. When I saw this I rush built the Orbital Fleet Manager (which my spies sto

Considering this game was advertised as being low-end friendly... It is, since you can turn down the effects. Low-end friendly doesn't necessarily mean "for low-end machines only". Developers have a need to appeal to the broadest possible spectrum of machine owners. If the game only runs well on high-end machines, the the low-end

well, the idea i was putting forth was not defections in your ranks but voluntarily turning ships over to criminals. preferably when they are far from your planets the code for making the pirates would take all of 10 minutes to emplement, but making the ai have the option of cutting loose pirates in your rear areas would take a bit of time. and it prob should have allignm

Because you can't post games with mods to the Metaverse, perhaps? AH. I was not aware of that most grievous oversight since I don't metaverse at all. However, the OP did not say he was in MV games.

I'm sorry, but this is simply terrifying, and impossible to imagine any good turn based game to not have! There must be a noise when you press the End Turn button!!!!!!!!! Whether it is a crappy "Turn complete" to a harmonious chime! It might not seem like a big deal, but it has many perks! a) it makes it clear when a turn has been made, takes away the risk of no

Yeah, except avian flu varieties have always been extremely deadly when they break out... AGAIN: 128 deaths in ALL THE YEARS they've been trying to scare us...just for ratings.

heh, that's a lot farther than anything i had in mind. personally i'd hate identical races. i'm pretty sure you could level out their bonuses manually if you wanted in raceconfig.xml. their AI personalities would still remain, however. Again. A joke taken too seriously. /rolleyes

Hehe I don't think the AI will never win...first it's too easy, then when it gets improved to recognize legitimate threats it's too hard. Ah well, time to test v1.2...which it sounds like will be kicking my butt (since I'm the type to just go around killing races) PLEASE SD....*most* of us appreciate and like what you've done with the game.

Why do all the news organizations want us to be scared of the bird flu? Worldwide ther have only bee 128 deaths. If you watch CNN or Fox, you'd think we will all be dead by Christmas 128 deaths 128 deaths 128 deaths. Remember in the 80's when AIDS was gonna kill HALF THE WORLD by 2001? <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Laugh.gif" border=0 ALIGN="absmiddle

If you are lucky, you might be able to buy the starbase from them... Though, I've never been able to do it. I've done it. It cost over 10,000 bc though!

Hah...you think you got it rough with your fancy-smancy computer! Back in my day we had to sit twenty monkeys in a room with the support staff for a broadway musical armed with catle prods to get that kind of entertainment. I used up so much juice we had to keep the boilers stuffed full of parakeets, or any avian that was available...a chicken will do nicely in a pinch.
