Psycho, From GalCiv Wiki: Once the invasion begins, an advantage factor is calculated for both sides of the ground war. This number takes into account various factors, including quality of the soldiers, their courage planetary defenses, and technology level. The invading force gets a 5 point advantage due to air superiority. The invading force can choose

Yes, that goofy blur of spinning numbers is a major factor in an Invasion!!!! On my system they go so fast all I can do is "Click an pray " I admit to a little cheese here, SAVE first and try again if things go bad ... I have a dedicated INVASION save slot. Byram There should be a 'save random seed' option like in Civilization

for the most part Wal-Mart eats up all the little guys just about everywhere it's put..... Capitalism at it's finest...and I'm not being sarcastic. If it were a monopoly, wich it's not, then it would be the government's job to break it up. -Wade

They have stellar cartography; thus they know where the suns and planets are. They use auto survey; thus their ships go directly to anomilies. Yours will too. But...How about Blind Exploration? Does that apply to the AI as well? If it is checked do they still see the colors/borders of other civilizations on the mini map? -Wade

Think about the real world. (yes I know this is a game.) It should be near impossible to manipulate all the other nations to kill each other while you sit back and reap the rewards. While some argue that this is and has happened; I agree to a little extent. This also now can happen in the game to a little extent. The AI now "knows" the long term value of holding on to a resource as opposed to selling it away for short term gain. Think of the Alaskan purchase. I'd bet that many R

I understood Ken Kofman perfectly fine. It's called a metaphore for those who don't get it. (They probably won't quite know what I'm saying either because they played games instead of studying while in school.) I agree with you Ken Kofman. The sliders behave strangely. Try to move one slider's percentage down and it jumps up like 25 percent sometimes. You have to lock one and then move the other slider's percentage up to force the original slider to move down correctly.

Has anyone else noticed that when trying to Upgrade a ship in the shipyard, you just get the hull and have to start over placing all the extras? I find that rather annoying. Instead of making visually appealing ships, I'm just throwing everything on the basic hulls and letting them go - as it takes too long otherwise. This is an option

The Dreadlords option is on a drop-down spot on the left side of the screen, just below the galaxy "picture" window. It holds the Dreadlords on Parade, and a few others to choose from. If you are reffering to the custom list then I just don't see Dreadlords on Parade. Other than that I just don't get it. Please elaborate. -Wade

The initial click shows how long it takes to build it from scratch, not how long it will take to do the current improvement. I would like to see that and the buy-it-now listed on that immediate screen (after clicking on the improvement in the planet list). Just look at the blue bar with the time left to build in the list .
