I beleive all the calculations are made when the turn is ended. It's not like the timed computer chess games. The AI responds to what you did after each "end turn" ...I believe. -Wade

This game is great but... -Starting with a medium hulled ship with a survey module but not already having the appropriate technologies. -Starting with Imperial government; (with no way to spend points in race creation for a government "technology".) Imagination Reason : One might argue any number of possibilities but they just don't hold credence when compared to the fact that the imagination reason must apply to all the civilizations. <img src="sm
OK ROBO. I accept what you say. So the answer to my question is "both". Influence Starbases boost a parsec squares influence and produce their own influence. They do not, however boost a planets influence; as my experiment showed me. Thanks! -Wade
Yes. A parsec. The squares that bases are built in and ships move in. Each square apparently has an influence score bases on planets and starbases; from what others have said. -Wade
If there is more to it than this, such as the "They either boost a "squares" influence or produce their own influence or both." part please explain. -Wade
I just did an experiment. I noted my influence produced at my homeworld by moving the pointer over the influence score at planet view. I contructed 2 constuctors and built an influence starbase with an influence module added. I ended turn. Went back to planet view to note score again. Nothing changed. So... Influence starbases due not boost planet influence. They either boost a "squares" influence or produce their own influence or both. Thus,in general, they are best us

OK. Thanks ROBO. I'll accept this for the time being. It sounds legitimate. As well as some of the other posters. -Wade
Onikazi. I said that because maybe the original poster got embarresed. I was trying to be diplomatic. -Wade
Just type in the bottom grey box and push "submit". Or highlight a phrase with right click and click "Quote". "Reply" should work too. -Wade
Just click on "Everything" and you get to see all the most recent posts, bumps notwithstanding. I know but unfortionately if you want to maximise your comment potential from others then you'll want it in Recent Posts. It seems as though many people do not respont to posts in "Everything". Maybe some do not even look there.<br
Onikazi. I was saying that what you said about " haven't seen any further remarks from that individual. " was funny. A compliment to you. So what exactly are you trying to say to me? 2 is true. I can't remember the other thread but someone from Stardock said it. </T
Alright, I'll do that in the future. I wonder what happened to the original poster I haven't seen any further remarks from that individual. Thats funny. But we've all jumped to conclusions throughout life. -Wade
"Additional Comment"... The Recent Posts window is cool though because it's like being up on a stage. Doesn't it make you feel special? -Wade
So like I said. Player answers seem to be split. -Wade
Perhaps Stardock can make the "Recent Posts" Window three times as long, or longer and allow all recent posts to be seen on it without having a "bump" comment. Have the posts move down at a regular pace and not being pushed down by new posts. -Wade
Perhaps Stardock can make the "Recent Posts" Window three times as long, or longer and allow all recent posts to be seen on it. Have them scroll down at a regular pace and not being pushed down by new posts. This would be fine. -Wade
After closer examination I understand. That would be cool too. But I think it would be more practical to just put an additional comment. -Wade
So what if people just did thier post as a 2 parter. I'm not sure what this means. -Wade Edit: After closer examination I understand. That would be cool too. But I think it would be more practical.
When at war with an AI, destroy a starbase near its cultural boundary. Notice that the boundary sometimes moves. But was this influence from an enemy planet in the area of effect?
Ok.So if your starbase is not overlapping one of your planets is it eminating its own ifluence? If so, then is this influence as effective as if were instead providing a bonus to your planet? -Wade
Quote : "You do not need to reply to your own post to have it appear in Recent Posts. It just takes a couple of minutes." This turns out not to be the case. So how did you come to your conclusions that made you jump to ...conclusions? I would like to see people put an additional comment instead of the "bump" statements. -Wade
Influence questions for Stardock...If any one is there. Because player answers seem to be split. I nead a definitive answer so that I can continue playing . -Wade
1. Do influence starbases eminate influence themselves or boost the influence of planets or both ? 2. If the answer is "both" then is more influence produced by having a lone starbase in an opponents territory affecting its planets or by boosting my planets influence ? Wich is more effective? The written manual is unclear. It states as follows. Starbases : "...or the bonus it extends to nearby colonies or ships." "Play
OK. I guess I need to pay more attention. But do the influence starbases work better by providing a bonus to your planets in the area of effect? -Wade
