Finally, after checking every few days, there are eight new screen shots for 'Space Empires 5' at Link The game is still in development and some of the screen shots are rough. The game is planned for June of this year,2006.I'm sure it will appeal to many here also. Galactic Civilizations 2 is great and I'll just have to take turns on playing both; and I'm eagerly awaiting GalCiv 2's expansion and Galactic Civilization

To recap; GC2 good, but not fantastic, expansions bad idea so is mp in current gc2 platform, instead patch it and work on gc3 with mp as part of core design. I now agree with this. Go Stardock onto Galactic Civilizations 3 ! -Wade
(though it would be nice to add some SP enhancements to the pot as well, make it nice and sweet) There will be a single player expansion. The poll is about one for only multi-player. As I understand it. -Wade
Specifically, does it increase linearly, or does population growth slow down as it approaches the maximum limit? I haven't heared of that information.I have read that in the beta version it's been reduced to some thing like 200,000 per turn.I don't pay much attention to that aspect when playing.
Keep the MP slider at 0. Push the research and SP sliders all the way up. They have said they will do MP in GC3...I have no issue with that as it would be budgeted from the start That is a good one! If this is what Stardock will do the
I never leave a square empty - they are too precious Yes; I know. What I mean is that later I add more plans. Only one plan at a time is built... -Wade
I would recommand that once a peace treaty is struck, neither side should be able to declare war on the other side for one year. And what magical entity would enforce this? "Q" ? Or the United planets? Laws can be broken by a dishonorable foe.You just don't trust them again.Think of Stalin's and Hitler's pact and how that turned out.
Maybe since theres so much interest just make it an option to Enable or Disable.. *Shrug* This seems like a great idea.Post it and bump it. "Attention Stardock". -Wade
its like 1.5morale-1farm to keep it at 100 I think. Yeah; It'll vary. After early game the 100% morale is not neaded as much as maximizing tax gains. -Wade
Saving spaces seems a waste to me - I'd rather use the tile for something until I need it for an imporvement relevent to the game situation I'm in at the time. OK; but do you fill every tile with a plan after colonization or do you leave some blank for later;like I do? -Wade
Stardock? Frogboy?...um...any of the others that I can't remember their names...My bad. -Wade
he means "in my honest opinion Thanks.I thought he was trying to mention some other game. -Wade
At first I thought "No" unless it included other treats; but then thats redundant because it would then be a traditional expansion. Well, now I voted yes. I might want to try this game in multi-player but it's not a priority. $20 bucks...mmm...I have a job.Sure.So,Stardock, what are your plans now that you're getting the results of this pole? -Wade
That is the most important reason IMO, and its really really lame. What's IMO? It'd be nice if people just typed a little more... -Wade
I never build them until my approval is dropping really low I agree with this. What I stated though is a generalization, a guide for how many to build;but save space for when you'll need them. The plan of upgrading a previos building works too. Check some of your well developed planets. You'll p
For each initial colony " base", farm, and 100% food bonus you should build one entertainment building. Your homeworld's capital produces twice as much food so build two entertainment buildings for it. This will seem like many tiles being used but a huge, happy population per planet equals huge amounts of cash, influence, security from "light" invasions, soldiers for transports, and colonists for colony ships or transports. You can ferry population between
The +100% tiles are very usable, just make sure you can put down 2 entertainment centers. Yes. For each initial colony " base", farm, and 100% bonus you should build one entertainment building. Your homeworld's capital produces twice as much food so build two entertainment buildings
You should probably get that planet. It has a potential population of 7780.340 billion. From what I've read the maximum population cap is 100 billion for the best planets. -Wade
Well said Metaphase. I agree whole heartedly. -Wade
Yes. The link by Marcathonas is all you need. It's from "Databanks" \ "Basic Strategy Guide". -Wade
it is only an option in the upcoming 1.1 version, which is currently in beta. Tony Oh yeah .I forgot to mention that. I'm using the beta 4. The betas can be downloaded after you download the Stardock Central site. This latest beta has many nice additions and fixes, including the leave components when upgrading option. A "beta"
Go into the game options menu place. There is a box you can check that will leave the components in place when you go to upgrade. -Wade
Cool. Thanks Rogue Metro. Some how I missed that obvious location in all my searching. -Wade
OK. Thanks Marcathonas and Quinff. That should be a cool upgrade stradegy. I didn't ever notice that speed does not matter once the route is established. -Wade
