Nope, there is no option to turn surrender off. It'd be a nice feature, but I wouldn't use it. As for being irritated by it, it usually means your not properly preparing your wars. You usually give the enemy enough time to try and counter, but when it figures out it's a deadend, it surrenders. These can usually be evaded by either preparing your fleet much better, or asking a peace treaty when the race is at its last 2 planets or so. As for Shock and Awe, I was able to utterly des

Yup, host it on a site. Photobucket.com or Imageshack.us is great.
I am not so sure, but if you unchecked the "Skip extra moves" box in the options, after you press the enter button, it will infer you to finish those leftover turns. The start button has disappeared on me before, on a normal map, only to find that a ship has 1 extra move left over from its autopilot... Though, correct me if I'm wrong.
As for stealing technologies, it isn't a 100% sure-fire. And even if you steal one, what are the chances of jumping from Laser I to Doom Ray considering all the extra technologies within the line heck or even the whole tech tree. Also, it wouldn't be really unbalancing. In order to steal that tech, you needed an enemy that already had Doom Ray, you're merely jumping to their height. BUT as for building production, I would like to point out the possibility of manipulating the superi
Actually, it makes sense to be able to steal a technology and not know the preceding techs. I can give an example that actually relates to the spoils of war! By World War II, the the best way to record a message for use of propaganda was by using a sort of strip of metal that is then used for recording. But this form of recording left its message unclear and a magnetized white noise. By the end of the war, a model of a new magnetophone was stolen by a soldier whos name I'm forgetti
I believe it also increases probabilities in many stuff in-game, even invasion.
I don't know a much as you, but I do believe if say, a ship has 2 beam and 2 missile, and a defender has say 2 shield, then the attacker would fire with the power of 2 beam against 2 shield and 2 missile against sqrt2. Then, the damage shown on the summary is merely all of that mathematics added together. To make it easier, I think each attacking type of rolled against the ships overall defence one at a time until beams, md, and missiles are all used. I doubt they want to hide the n
God damn it! Well, I play another game. This time I felt like isolating myself a bit. Which I should tell you... Is NOT a good idea. Well I had a rough start in the colony rush, I'm playing a good custom race in another normal map. The Yor and Drengin not too far away from me, but they must pass the Arceans. My influence, at first, successfully gated the Torians away from the outside world as well. But, sadly now, my influence is slowly being eroded by the Arceans. The majority of my tr
See download? See Stardock Central? Download that, hope you registered, and from there go to the games tab. Click Galactic Civilizations 2 from your purchased tab and begin the download.
You can open your custom raceconfig file in "My Documents". Opening it with notepad, you'll be able to theoretically change every thing but that Emperor Emperor deal. You can change their Race Name, Display Name, Alignment, Short Empire Name, etc. But as far as I know, they didn't work for me in the beta. I'll try it out in my next game, but as far as I know, cutomizing a solar system will take more tweaking than just one file. And I think the RaceLeader Name is mean
Yeah, its ranger. I know they come from special events, but seeing so much at such an early stage shocked me a bit. I have gotten 1-3 ranger ships in one game before, but to see 15+ ranger ships all from the same race? The ships didn't shock me as anything buggy, but rather the number. While I have ships with the newly researched Mass Driver II, these numerous Yor ships come in this multiple Quantum Drivers. Shocked as I was, I've been playing it, and I have caught up to the sort
Hi guys, I've run into a "bug"? While playing a game with all characters with the new 1.1 patch, the Yor, all of a sudden, gained 7 that's right 7 huge ships with 30~ Atk and 20~ Def each. I saw one and thought it was a special event, but then I saw the rest of them. This was quite early in the game so you saw the Yor military SKYROCKET overshadowing all other military as merely specks. While doublechecking the saved game, I noticed they also had ~10 ranger classed ships, I've managed to out
I use a laptop, so I don't have one either. Just click and hold both the left and the right at the same time.
Saves save, but to not appear in the load screen. The file seems to be made, but it just doesn't appear in the load screen. Oh, I use customized races if that is necessary. I'll try to say it the best as I possibly can... Say I change the racial bonuses of say... the Iconian race. When I play a game NOT as the Iconians, will I be playing against the custom qualities? This also includes the party, if I put Technologist for the Iconians, will I be playing against Iconians with Technologists or not? Thanks.
