'1.What's the maxium amount of planets within a solar system?' Five, as far as I know. '2.Are there any Ringed type plants? (Saturn)' Class 3 planets have rings, according to the image, but as was mentioned, it doesn't have any in-game significance.

I have no clue, but if I pulled out the modded files I used when poking at things during beta2, I could probably put together a table going as high as class 190-something. If I had to guess, that class 83 is probably going to have some serious problems that will make maxing the population nearly impossible anyway. The class 120 Earth I had during beta 3, when morale resources also improved planet quality, was perpetually plagued with morale problems once the population got up near 100B

26 is the highest a planets base class can start at, but there is one way for a planet's base class to be permanently changed to 35. (And for reference, that 35, fully terraformed (+145%, I think), would be around class 83. That should be the absolute maximum class a planet can reach, not accounting for future mods. A 26 would hit 63, and a 20 would go up to 48.)

'Or import custom music? ' GalCiv should handle custom music as long as it has the expected filenames. I'd probably make sure it was the same bitrate/etc. too, just to be same. The music may or may not be overwritten when you update GalCiv, though.

'The very highest levels of AI cheat though. I believe it was stated that 'Intelligent' is the smartest AI that doesn't receive any sort of bonus.' Only on the highest level does the AI get any bonuses (other than foreknowledge of the locations of yellow stars, which you can pick up rather quickly through research). 'I have seen posts by Brad that comments on how well the AI's take advantage of hyperthreading, which I gather is a form of multiple processors.' Hyperthr

'One thing I noticed is that the Serial number says it has expired at 01/12/2003. First, is that Jan 12th, 2003, or Dec 1, 2003? Also, will I ne able to download the full version of GalCiv when it is released?' That is probably Jan 12, 2003 (and it should change if you refresh your data). It's been plainly stated that noone's subscription will expire before the GalCiv GM release (and shouldn't for at least six months after, AFAIK). ~SDC~

'"the Drengin government may agree with your policies but the “Drengin street” may not and they have to consider that in their dealings with you" I was just curious as to how this manifests intself in the game? What does the AI go thru when it looks at how it feels with how it's people feel? Perhaps someone could give me an example? ' In the gamma, multiple invasion tactics were added, one of which is to subvert the native population instead of exterminating it.

General Kang tells us that the military class is much more than human. The super soldiers have taken control of seven planets and claim that humanities place in the Galaxy is as slaves to the master race. *insert flashbacks of Khan Noonien Singh and bad Shatner immitator here*

Both alignments have benefits and drawbacks through the whole game. Non-evil races tend to aid good ones, and good races will occasionally gang up on evil ones. Good races lose benifits from events, but get more benefits from research. Only evil races can be affected by a certain event (from appearances). At least one UP issue only affects evil races.

'Sounds like your AI is capable of doing that, so why not let it have a setting where it does it unfettered?' Keep in mind that while none of us (the gamma testers included) have seen all the options in the gold version's game setup screen, one of the ones mentioned were fine control over the AI's initial setup, and Brad just gave you the formula currently used to set the AI's intelligence-based bonuses. It may already be possible to set their intelligence to Incredible, then p

Heh. The last time I tried to trade for a colony, I ended up with about 1200 bc/turn tribute for the rest of the game (1100 turns) over one system.... I don't expect that game to last 100 years to get out from under the most expensive land-lease program in the galaxy. ;p

(Delmar II)'This is a very nice feature! Can I get such a report without loading a saved game? ' (Dearmad)'It seems like it's a yearly report too, no? ' The yearly reports are different from that report, but some of them do cover that information in more detail than the general 'so far' report.

'The future of Europe is a GalCIV like FEDERATION embodied in the European Union.' 'Some of you will point to America as an Economic powerhouse, and say that isn’t it because it’s a Democracy or Federation. Well the USA is a Republic.' A Star Federation, as the tech description seems to describe it, is a Republic on an extragalactic scale. Think more along the lines of The United Federation of Planets than the European Union. (And just to touch upon the problems you m

'Is it possible to add some sort of "Support vessel" in the game' One thing that was mentioned several months back as a 1.x improvement was fleet flagship type vessels, which would do things along this line. Alot of 'support vessel' stuff is already implemented as starbase modules, as well.
