I think that most games are trying to appeal to such a large audience that most of them will turn in to something like The Elder Scrolls or Fable. You create 'you', and play around in their world. Spore goes beyond that, and larger the sandbox a game has, the the more it will be purchased. MMORPG's have a very large sandbox, for example in World of Warcraft you create a custom hero and do what you want, for the most part it's up to you. In Star Wars Galaxies you have an entire planet to

I'll help out. I can do some coding stuff if you want.
I assume that it works fine with the full DA? EDIT: Oh, never mind. Main screen isn't right.
I should note that I work from home to begin with Well, that should help out in that area.
Class 0 planets are generally such that no significant population or infrastructure could be developed... but here's an interesting thought: you can still mine them, their moons, their rings, and whatever else may be in orbit! What if those class 0 planets were more than just eye candy, and instead acted like asteroid fields that you need a special tech to properly access?
In the late 800's, in another part of the galaxy, the Aloken Republic saw their sun prepare to live its last few months. Soon, it would explode, killing all of the Alokens on their small planet. Something had to be done, else the entire Aloken Republic would be destroyed. Two ships were made, the 'Karavali' and the 'Astol'. Both of these ships were launched, directed at a world that the Alokens had dubbed Meb'Ieni (Last Hope). They were both launched with 500 civilians and scientists on
The highest I can remember is 18, but I know I've seen larger.
I know there isn't a full mod, but has anyone even made just the ships?
I use AVG, but it does get in the way more then I would like.
Not neat comes to mind.
well maybe epilepsy mimicks a demon possesion then what i am saying is some people really are sick and some people may be possesed and the normal human wouldn't know Or the illness was first created by that. The point is, we don't know, and does it really matter if it was a demon or epilepsy? Either way, it was healed. Some things you don
Yep, that they did. If there ever is a BattleTech mod, I would love to help.
This really doesn't fit anywhere, so I'll just ask here. In the GFX/Improvements/icons, why are there two of the same thing, one being UpgradedStarport.png and the other UpgardedStarport.png?
1. Enhanced UP, I doubt they would always be voting against evil races and for slowing things down, having only ONE sports thing ever and so on. If that could be made to be worth bothering with, that would be great. 2. More things to do with colonization. It's great that in DA you have to research techs for certain kinds of planets, but I doubt that every single race can survive on the same kind of atmosphere. Terrans and Thalans would have different atmosphere needs, as would most races. If
Yeah, that part might be hard. Have you been playing Empire at War? All the features that you listed you want in space combat are in that game. Definitely not as good, but it has the features. The only thing I would want with the space combat is giving your fleet commanders some orders. Give them specific things to do and take out first. If they included destroying components, you could say which ones to destroy first. Or like another thread I read, you could set a certain formation and
It might be hard to do that. A major part of the tech tree IS the Alliances. I agree, alliances can get tangled up. It would be nice if they could make it so Alliances couldn't be made, and you still have the tech. At least with the major races. The minors wouldn't matter as much.
And that's your opinion. Anyway, I'm willing to bet whoever it was that thought up Gal Civ (wasn't it Brad?) had the Thalans before the Buggers were well known.
Yeah, that would be a good idea. Expanding the game after you 'win' for as long as you want. I like the extra system thing, it just makes sense for another area of space, it doesn't matter where, to exist. Then just assign it different pieces of the AI from the others and the expansion continues. That would be awesome.
That's what I thought. You get a lower level AI that doesn't kill transports, even though it can, easily. Then you get a higher level that does, and makes you think more. Those who don't like it don't have to use that level of AI. That's why there are different ones.
Yeah, the AI should try to win more. Sometimes they just do stupid things because we have a close relationship, but then my warships are attacking their homeworld. They should still expect that kind of thing, and even want to do the same to me.
I don't believe you can, but I've never tried.
One thing on the weapons point, I was in a war with the Korath and I had Graviton Divers, and after the war started they started on Laser 1. They had never come close to destroying any of my ships. That really needs to get fixed.
Yeah, most of the tutorials are actually from the version right before 1.0
Yeah, I saw that too. I began preparing for a war against the Korath, and not only did he not have anything in the way of military but he hadn't even researched any weapons. I think while I have the highest Singularity Drivers he had Plasma 2.
Personally I don't think you should be able to steal a tech unless you have its pre-requisite tech. I almost agree with this, but you can give something higher tech and teach them about it, and then they can improve on it. But yeah, tech stealing from conquest should be much rarer.
