To confirm: When you purchase a pre-order game you are not charged until the next phase of the beta starts. Once it does you are then charged for the game and the beta will be available to you through Impulse (provided that you have clicked on the Stardock Orb in the top left corner > preferences > and checked the box "Show pre-release.."). As updates come down the pipe they are downloaded and installed through Impulse as well. Of course this is the same way you will get the

Another benefit to keeping the sig.bin is that retaining the file if you have to uninstall the game and then reinstall it again on the same machine allows you to not have to activate it again. This causes your account threshold to stay the same. All software can be activated as many times as you need. However if they happen too rapidly then the activation gets maxed out and has to be reset by support. It is a security measure to prevent stolen account information to be distributed.

Not sure what the protocol error would be there. Just to see use this program to uninstall and reinstall the Multi service: http://sd.stardock.com/mike/apps/reinstall_mpp_service.bat If that does not work try pinging the IP of the secondary to see if you can even make connection at all.

As it was explained to you through email support; the connection IP you supplied does not connect to Wincustomize.com. Whatever service you are utilizing is not connecting you to our service correctly. If there was something we could do for you on our end we would be glad to. If you wish to take further steps to make the connection please feel free to write us back through the support channel.

What they are proposing is pretty different. Every MMO of popular content freaks me out though. Can't help it. I could name a few......

You might have heard that term before: "Core Gaming". It suggests that table top, board games, and to a lesser degree card games are the core of original gaming. I often feel back and forth on that statement. I am willing to concede that it was likely someone doing the parents-basement-gaming-thing that came up with a majority of the ideas surrounding modern ga

Nearly all gadgets require Desktop X to run in one form or another. Here is the product info page to explain the software in detail: https://www.stardock.com/products/desktopx/ Some gadgets are self installing and running but most will require at least the runtime version of Desktop X. If you have more questions or questions about specific gadgets let us know!

Please know that Impulse must connect once online before it can run fully. If the machine that it is being installed to isn't online at all then Impulse can't fully start up. Once it connects for the first time you are free to use it in offline mode and it can be used to restore the archive of the game. Sorry for the trouble in this. Please let us know if you have further questions.

When you reinstalled the OS you changed the system information that activation uses to create a sig.bin activation file for that computer. Each sig.bin is unique to the user email address, the serial number, and specific OS information on that specific computer. If you simply go through the activation process again you should be all set. If you still have troubles you will need to contact [email protected] as we would have to verify all of your account information and that can't be done in

The free version of Object Dock does not support multiple docks I am afraid. That is a feature for the Plus version alone. Sorry for the trouble but if you use Object Dock often you might want to consider the Plus version. I'm sure you can find plenty of people here that will agree with that statement. If you have any further questions let us know!

The point I was looking to make in this article is that I have a much harder time trusting nearly any professional critic I read these days. This includes all media types that I have a interest in, not just games of course. It is just easier to trust the critic that has the least or nothing to gain due to their review. This isn't a new argument by any means and I have not attacked any one critic in this writing either. I have simply brought up my concerns and frustrations on a very general le

Wizard is quite right and you can have both installed. Stardock Central still provides updates to the Object Desktop series plus a few other skinning products as well. It also still provides the Wincustomize Browser where Impulse does not at this time. All games will only go through Impulse and Impulse has a lot of great tools built in to make it a great asset. It is also a priority development project so there are frequent updates and new features coming out all the time. If you h

I wonder if it happens to a minority of the users, or if only a minority of users report it?[/quote] We believe it to be the first one as we often test this out on our machines here and have had a very hard time ever replicating it. The developers are looking into as a priority though because even with it being a small percentage of people having this trouble it is reported well. Sorry for the trouble.<

There are benefits to Object Desktop subscriptions and separate benefits to Wincustomize. Several free MyColors suites have gone to Object Desktop users and multiple free Premium themes have gone to Wincustomize subscribers. The subscription is a very good purchase all on it's own. I do not make the sales decisions around here but I can explain the products some to give you a better understanding. Please let me know if you have further questions.
