I found the GalCiv II AI to be good, but did some odd things. One AI player would build only transports and then get slaughtered by another AI. it would find an anrnor dreadnaught and then sell it off because of the maintenance cost. I don't recall it making optimal building choices or specializing planets. delaclare war on me when it can't reach me. It had some good things going for it. If I built flee

I get the whole "rush" phase. It was like that back in GalCiv 2. My point is that I would like a peaceful way of dealing with it. It seems strange to me that the neighboring race, that loves me, would steal my durantium. Some AI tweaking could fix this. Culture flipping a starbase may be a viable way of peacefully dealing with obnoxious neighbors. But it doesn't take care of an AI stealing a relic from a mining starbase before the relic addon can be i

It always bugs me that the AI will grab resources my home system or relics in the influence of mining star bases. This typically happens in early game, before declaring war or United Planets referendums are practical. I propose a minerals rights rule. Preventing mining of resources in other races influence, with the exception of war or treaty. Conceptually, trade had intergalactic rules governing it. So it wouldn't be that much of a stretch. <

Bugs: Galaxy map resets zoom level to minimum after each turn. The zoom seems to be trying to keep only my empire visible rather than stay at the level that I set. "Distance Out of Range" Tool Tip appears over the Graph on the side menu. This seems out of place and does not provide me with any useful information Building/Project tool tips obscure the project details the cursor is hovering ove

GalCiv 3 .80 It is possible some of these have been addressed in .81, I haven't seen it yet. Here are my observations, feedback, and bugs found. Trade BUG - Trade Screen shows that I have 2 routes in use. 3 Foreign routes coming in. My trade details shows -1/4 trade routes. However, I have +4 trade from [Xeno Commerce, Designatd Trading Partner, Interstellar Trade]. When I cancel the foriegn trade routes then I can use the rest of my licenses. Launchi

I played GalCiv II and loved it. I still go back a play twilight of arnor every now and then. Just joined the beta and I am excited to play the next installment of the Galactic Civilization series. The interface looks similar to GalCiv II, which is a good thing. However some things are not intuitive or easily discovered. Ship Designer I absolutely loved this feature in GalCiv II. This and watching my custom made stars

4/2/2 I would switch my vote to 4/3/1 if this particular tile is next to a forest and river. Since these location bonuses are often better then the production bonuses from essence. More grain means higher city level, and the level up bonuses that are given to cities at lvl 4 and 5 are great even though your production is hurting. After reading some of the responses in this thread, I will start considering 3/3/2

I found a bug that occurs when a unit is moving between turns and is attacked by a monster. When "Auto Resolve" is selected from the pre-combat screen. The scout is defeated by the more powerful monster and the scout finishes moving and dies several squares away from the sight of combat. If the final square is one of your cities, the scout will survive with only 1 hp and will be immobilized and any attempt to go to the next turn results in the game hanging.&n

I started the "Hunting The Garrote" quest and upon accepting the quest a new quest location appear, "garrote tracks" or something like that. The bug occurred after moving my hero to this location to complete the next step in the quest. As expected an option menu appeared with the standard "continue or give up" option. Selecting the "continue" option started a battle (as expected) and the "give up" option exits the menu and the quest end (I assume this is expected, would be n

The Positive. I love the new look of FE, both UI and scenery. The hero/champion level upgrades give great dynamic to the game. The redesign of the city mechanics are wonderful. City development seems more simplified. The new weapons and armor make questing and monster slaying much more fun and rewarding. The Negative. The pace of the game, in the beginning, seems slow. What I mean is, it takes t
