What is with the Yor? Oh cmon I didn't use cheat codes the Yor prob have somthing wrong! Mumble, I have too much respect for Stardock to tolerate this comment. The Metaverse wasn't born yesterday. If they say he cheated, he cheated. Cheating, per se, isn't the problem. He could claim he was learning but didn't. Instead of pla

Each planet in IG2 was a city which is pretty much how GC2 works. The cityscape was beautiful. Good use of audio. Planetary defenses that chewed up a portion of any invading fleet. 3D ground combat. It ended at 1.06 but it looks like fans built it up to 1.14. Bioware does turn based calculations in what appears to be real time. Knights of the Old Republic and Neverwinter Nights are actually turn based. You hit pause to stop the calculation of turns and queue orders. <

quiet with the lying. Lying about what? Your record on the Metaverse? Everyone can look at your profile. 4 games. 3 with the cheat flag.

Keep ignoring me while you read this: You're a loser. You have cheat codes on four games. You don't deserve sympathy or respect.

This would be the only way I think it could work with GalCiv2. Wrong. Know your history . Imperium Galactica 2 was a real time 4x game. Very well done. Could have been a lot better but the ideas were outstanding. <TABLE cellpadding=8 width="95%" align=center

One of the problems with declaring yourself Evil is, even the evil ruler can think he's on the side of right. He doesn't think of himself as evil, he's sees himself doing what he's doing for the betterment of his people. Else he's just a psychopath. People that are arrogant enough to see themselves as "very good" are the headcases of the world.

I am honored to have a thread dedicated to disagreeing with me. It's not the first attempt. That one got shut down . In the thread you're referencing, I was advocating that things merely make sense. Asteroid mines flipping on influence doesn't make sense. The political fallout would be too great in any age for any sentient

Can someone post a strategy? I think you're a troll. Read the Strategies section that you managed to post in. The game itself is loaded with charts and statistics on you versus your opponents. The minimap has several different ways to view what is happening as well. Difficulty levels below challenging will not teach yo

Real spies are dedicated to gathering information, nothing more. James Bond doesn't have anything close to a real life equivalent. I think Dread Lords got it right with spies and only needed counter-espionage spending. Spies aren't shutting down Ford or Boeing. There probably are, however, spies in both companies gathering information for their bosses. The pirates can be part of the already existing and under-developed random event of pirates. They are running spice from De

Also demonstrating improvement over time is far more important than the absolute level that you’re playing at. Agreed. Tiny/challenging was my first game. Large/challenging was my first game where I understood most of the game. Now Gigantic/tough is where I'm sure I know what I'm doing and I want to see how that knowledge stacks against the co

My games are setup as random as possible. Luck of the draw gave me a gigantic galaxy. Right before I was ready to bail, I found a class 26 planet and decided to stay. I'm into my third week at an hour a day. When I'm finished (estimating another week), I'll pickup the beta so I can offer specific criticism. I can win peacefully, I believe but, for the sake of time and patience, I am going to destroy the Drath. I'm building monster ships and I haven't logged a Metaverse military vic

I can't imagine playing like Mumble. I am on gigantic with two remaining opponents. All three have equal influence. I have 11 starbases and 4 large ships. After I spike the military chart with defensive capabilities on the starbases and get 15 transports, I'm moving in for the kill against the Drath. That said, Mumble's writing has been invaluable to my strategy. I value starbases for money and production. I'm smarter with the sliders and research in general. I'm a better player.

But joking aside, it's a game, it doesn't require a foundation in reality. In all seriousness, yes it does. Science fiction isn't about the future. It's about now. Ever wonder why historical games like Civilization sell more than science fiction? Ever wonder why normal people wouldn't touch Space Empires V with a 10 foot pole?<br/

Too much emphasis on spies. Not enough emphasis on improving ass kicking. Flipping asteroid mines with influence is ludicrous. What do you think would happen if a West Virginia coal mine decided that the US sucks and all coal is going to China? Spies are overdone. An additional slider for counter-espionage would have been good enough for a lot of players. Pirates are ignored. This game needs a criminal underworld between the fog of war. Space is big, right? Probably should have been clearer... whether or not to get DA in beta. When I finish this gigantic galaxy, I'm going to stop playing for awhile. Fixes needed on the current retail version are, understandably, ignored but, not understandably, drowned out by DA posts. P.S.: setup a character in the Metaverse so I can invite you to my empire... Empire of Standards.

Dark Avatar idea for starbases Really? Are you sure you don't mean "starbase idea for Dark Avatar", tardboy? Lots of people have written about reducing cost and increasing strength of starbases. As I haven't heard anything from the developers, I doubt anything will change on this subject for DA. Personally, I'm keeping my opti

1.4.53 This might not be a bug but it still doesn't look right... After convincing the Yor and Drath to fight each other, the treaty screen still shows them trading but in the details box, it confirms that they are at war with each other. Neither of them have the support or logistics to actually fight, I'm just wearing down their economy and social development. Why wouldn't they at least attack the freighter when it comes to each other's territory? I thought trading

One thing I'd like to see in GC3 is population by race. In the UI... the blue icons to the upper right of the map... second row of icons... Influence (default), population, industry...All by race displayed on the minimap... all this, in *GC2*... There you go. Amazing, isn't it? Don't go telling people I'm not nice.

No way. The Ebon Hawk minigame was _the_ most annoying part of the game. I wanted an rpg, not an arcade game. I ended up disabling or modifying the minigames in kotor. Kotor is my best gaming experience, by far. GC2 has a long way to go before reaching KotOR status. I think it can get there, though. To recap your question: Not only "no" but "HELL NO!"
