I've found they work quite well against minions - you just need to mine an area in advance, and put even spacing between those mines. And if you really want to play minelayer, you need to get the right items for it: Helmets that cut the cooldown, cut the cost and generally up your mana regen.

Demigods are the size they are for gameplay reasons. Regulus small size is one of his advantages, just like Rooks big size is one his disadvantages. All the other demigods are easily visible, and if you still have problems, check your minimap. Basic grunts are easy to tell apart (with the exception of the Priests) because they have radically different textures. Maybe you're playing it too far zoomed out?
He just needs to be damageable. If he has about 50% of his max health in Zombie mode it'd still be a cool thing for the Oak player, but not uncounterable for the other team.
My point is, Prison is varietyless chaos. It plays the same, everytime. Make it bigger and it'll still be chaotic, but there'll be more ways of chaos.
http://forums.demigodthegame.com/333453 Already suggested, along with some other General UI (pun) suggestions. [e digicons][/e]
On another bug, the "default settings" button defaults everything back to normal, not just the tab you're in.
Add another one to the "don't like Oak Voiceover" camp. It does sound like a placeholder though, so it'll probably change.
Given that I have a lot MORE examples (I'm going to add Deus Ex and Jedi Knight II to my list, by the way), and they qualify for the entire game, whereas yours is a subset of one game where I have an example for my side anyway and the vast majority of the game takes my side. Firstly, subclasses doesn't count for the same reasons as classes (which we are arguing on a separate point). Secondly, majority of korean mmorpgs.. hardly a specific example I can relate to or research, is it? Thi
It's a little too chaotic in my eyes. The semitransparent ground doesn't help either - it obscures everything even more.
Seeing as how there's been an influx of new maps with Beta 2, I think it's best to start talking about them. Of course, at this time, griping about balance is a little early, however, there's some things we can talk about, even without several play sessions: The map shape and distribution of flags and other structures. The map that inspired this is Prison: I think this is a horrible map. I have some opinions to back that up as well: It has no seperate lanes, thus creat
I can confirm this. It's not a huge issue but it is something that seperates a normal product from a polished product.
The UI has several things missing that are absolutely crucial for Generals: A ) One of the "Show Health Bar" toggle options has to show only the players own forces with bars, while keeping bars off for every other unit/structure/whathaveyou. Alternatively, display health bars for units that are currently getting hit. At the moment there is only the choice between no health bars and health bars over everything (enemy demigods, enemy units, your own demigods, your own units, your neutra
That mission is actually one of the hardest ones - and sadly the first non-tutorial RTS mission you get. I recommend going for pure rocket bots with range enhancement - advance the entire group outside the location you want to attack and then manual control your bots to take out turrets without taking any damage. If you get enemies, move sideways while hitting them, and stay in range of your AI bots. Strategy wise, I won by going for green, full steam. Bleed green dry right ou
If you get a new Darklands I want a new Aethra or Castle of the Four Winds.
I did address them. You can't because balancing 2-4 sides or 8 Demigods is easier than balancing 100 skills. This makes your choice of side or class infinitely less likely to be a game-breaking error. Additionally, in Supreme Commander and D&D, there ARE some ways in which you can change, you can dual-class under certain conditions, capture or trade engineers.
Your examples are not changes, they're additions - you can't change your side in SupCom, you can only add a
ehm you can destroy the mass extractors and power generators in supcom; you also can destroy the upgrades of control points in CoH and DoW (granted, they do give a bit for just controlling it). But how are the mass spots in Supcom different from the undestroyable crystals in starcraft, and then you also have workers which reclaim stuff which are an major part of the economy in supcom.
Mass Spots, Flags and Control points, are all infinite, workerless, stationary resourc
You can actually kill them???? in like a few hits.... how many RTS's have you played???? Killing whatever produces your income is hugely important. If its just a flag you can't destroy it. You need it to be a unit or a building thats destroyable. The player that got raided would have to replace the building/merchant so he can keep up with your income or suffer the consquences. Being able to kill something rather than taking it would cause actual
The game you're talking about is I've Found Her, and it's hardly "shit". It's 100% faithful to the series, which is why it's not a simple Wing Commander clone, but has newtonian physics. Not everyone can handle Newton, but that doesn't make it "bad". And it's not called "Shooter". It's called Space Sim, a subgenre of Flight Sims.
Well, their list isn't exactly representative without any indication as to what their source is. If they went by the NPDs (which is common procedure), they not only exclude large parts of the world, they also do not take online distribution into account at all. And that will skew those numbers quite a lot. Providing a top sales chart without any linking to what their source is - that's bad form IGN.
Well, we haven't seen what kinds of Flags there'll be. Not to mention that the new Demigods might have ways to harass more effectively - perhaps the General's minions can capture flags? In that case a sacrifical minion for a quick harass might be viable. Perhaps the added mobility of Regulus, cheaper teleport items or other abilities we haven't seen yet will make harassing easier and more viable. We'll have to wait and see on that topic I think.
It only decreases variety and choice. Once I pick Hammer Smash, I MUST HAVE HAMMER SMASH. How the hell does that increase choice, because now, I can't have half Hammer Smash and half Boulder Throw. Seriously, tell me how the hell this possibly increases choice and variety? You can't choose to spec multiple abilities, which MASSIVELY reduces the number of possible combinations. Either you pick once, or you pick repeatedly.
There are only 4 skill slots. By NOT having skil
Not the way IGN interpreted it. They're very much going for the universe. The fluff - which is a little wierd since there's so very little of it actually there (yet?). But seriously, FarCry 2 "most innovative"-nomination? Because they had pretty fire? IGN really didn't put a lot of time into their candidate list.
Yes, I'm eagerly awaiting Beta 2 to see what they did with the skill trees. And believe me, no one would be happier than me if it turns out to be great - I'm not expecting it not to.
It's just like picking a Demigod, except for you never pick the wrong one by mistake (or almost). Unlike choosing skill points.
It is just like picking a demigod - do you want people to be able to switch their Demigod mid-game? "Oh I don't like how this Rook plays, I'd rather switch to Regulus" - of course not. It's the same reason you can't just switch which side you're playing in an RTS while the game is in progress or, to use your DnD example, why you can't just revo
Best New IP is hardly something you can give to Sins - we don't have any actual backstory. Giving an award for what might be there is asinine. Game of the Year is semi-okay, given that their other selections are based purely on ad revenue. GTA4? Fallout 3? Both games that are complete failures on the PC, simply because the developer didn't spend a shred of time actually making it work on the platform. Most innovative should have gone to Spore, and there's not even a q
