Update 1.21 is now out. Any compatibility problems?

I have been experincing a hang whenever Impulse attempts to go into the Explore tab. Doesn't matter if I click on it myself, it opens new into it, or switches there because of clicking on "more info". Explore tab will hang, the little spinning dot circle hangs (stops and sits) with the view field blank white. System shows the processor at near idle usually, on some occation impulse will max out the processor however on both occations system is lagged heavily. If I right click on th
Ok, checked their maurader's. Neither one has a maurader cap with the special ability unlocked. one is level 4 and the other level 3... Going on with Overchargethis's information, I also have 2 gig of ram and an Nvidia Graphics card with 256mb ram on it. (only a 6300 series).
If you think about it, reducing the production rate is right. The carrier is no longer pushing everything into ship production as it has to divert much if its resources to defending itself, repair crews, and so on.. with the TEC ability, they are basically for a moment diverting ALL attention to crank out emergency fighters and bombers in a last ditch effort to save the ship. I'm glad they aren't trying to make it TOO real when this is done because then the carrier would also lose it's repair
Playing as TEC against 2 Vasari and 1 othr TEC. Game plays fine up until a little after 5 hours, 35 minutes. At this point crashes to save a mini-dump and then to desktop. Have tried several things in the game to try to determine what is causing it but have not found any one thing that seems to be the source. Have saved the dump file and the last game save if this will help. I believe this is a related post to the same problem: <a href="https://forums.sinsofasol
Similar problem after about same amount of time (5hours 35minutes about). Playing as TEC against 2 Vasari and 1 other TEC. SINS-E Crashes to dump and then desktop. Have not figured out what is the cause yet. Have tried different things in the game to see if it is something I'm doing or deploying but nothing seems to match up to the crash. Have saved mini-dump and last saved game from about 5-10 minutes before crash in case it is wanted for analisys.
I agree with you. The sova carrier is a useful ship to have in your fleet because of embargo, and missile batteries. But I rarely build the akkan. It is almost totally useless other than targeting uplink which only helps lrms and stuff. It is much better to build another martza than a Akkan.
I love the sova carrier but think it should have at lest 2 times the figher/bomber carrier capacity. I use the Akkan a lot
Going on with Zubaz and Sethbeastalan , programing is not an easy task. Things are still being added to the game and bugs are being fixed. There are ALWAYS setbacks in all kinds of work, programing not exclusive. Most companies will take "pre-orders" and give you nothing to show but an empty wallet until you get the game. Be glad you h
I have Windows Vista Ultimate SP1 installed. I've tried running the DX updates and everything that has been sugested in this forum to try to figure out why on start the program stops responding. Vista doesn't allow for the .net 1 or .net 2 instalations it appears only 3.x and 3.5. this is the error I get and a blank debug file... Description: Stopped working Problem signature: Problem Event Name: CLR20r3 Problem Signature 01: galciv2ide.exe Problem Sign
Ok, back again. Seems even with the new drivers, same distortion exists in the exact same spots... and if I run without the advanced rendering, the texture on the ships appear less vivid, more washed out then if the advanced rendering is turned on. When it is turned on, the jewelry seems to have much more color depth and detail giving it a much richer and more 3D appearance. I'm really wondering what the 'speed patch' does and why my system seems to have a more vivid rendering with it o
Nice bit of news! I have to run the game from inside stardock central and start that in Administrator Mode or the game will crash out or not even try to load... About to re-install my vid-drivers and found a newer version of them that I will re-install with to hopefully fix some issues discused in another thread. Everything is pointing to something wrong on my end with this issue... *sighs* had to install vista on my gaming machine... tisk tisk tisk...
Hmmm, if they are suppose to be the same.... something must be wrong on my end. :NOTSURE: Going to do a full remove using driver cleaner pro then do a re-install of the vid-drivers tonight. Will let you know if anything changes. *grumbles... had to install vista didn't I....*
True enough at that, Kryo... but there is a BIG difference in the quality of the ship textures and I would have thought an nVida 6100 with 256mb on board ram would be enough to handle it. *sigh* everything else works great... but maybe I'm just reaching the limit of my 5 year old computer that I just can't seem to retire lol! Yes, been running the game without the enhanced ship rendering... but you know. If there is a bell or whistle one has to try to get it to make a sound! <br/
I'm having a problem with GC2:DA 1.80e and the Enhanced Ship Rendering option. If it is turned on, I'm having random edge bleading from various points on ships. If turned off, they are gone. I've tried updating drivers, changing all the settings for texture and anti-alashing and texture clamping but nothing seems to solve it. Current version of system is as follows according to SmartException: Operating System : Windows XP Service Pack 1 - (6001.longhorn_rtm.080118-1840)<br/
It can also be due to stardock games like most games not recognizing the core speed of the AMD 64 chip, dual core or not. AMD has a driver fix for this that bypasses the windows checksum that is sent to the program and sends the checksum directly from the chip of it's max core speed. I found once that I had this fix installed, every game I had tried with XP64 that didn't work now works perfectly. <a href="https://www.stardock.com/products/sdcentral/" title="Posted via Stardock Central"
UPDATE Figured out a work around while poking through the prefs.ini. The line: PreloadModels=1 Change it to: PreloadModels=0 I haven't had an out of memory error or crash for that matter after this so it seems to have something to do with this... In addition, it only takes about 30 seconds now to start the game new or load from a saved game as oppose to the five to ten minute wait time as it preloaded everything for the game
I have had this issue only when saving 3 or 4 times during 1.1. Now that I've updated to 1.11, the issue happens about every 2 hours of straight play or every 3rd save. Watching system resources directly using task manager, i can watch the memory being ate up and not released after each save and now slowly over time. Reminds me of a memory leak. I've tried uninstalling and then re-installing to no luck. I've increased the swapfile from the variable 15
