Can anyone point me to some kind of tutorial on creating custom hulls in DA (with the new empty hull feature) I've tried it but they all end up looking like clumps pf junk. Thanks

As far as getting close relationships with other empires, I always am sure to build diplomatic translators and NEVER trade them to anyone, this gives you a pretty good bonus to diplo, which will increase you relationships. Of course trade helps as well. I usually concentrate on diplo research and trade and can usually maintain friendly or better relations with all empires. In the early game if you do this you won't even need a military, but it is a good idea to start building one so you don't fa
In the options screen there is something like view full battles and always watch opponents battles not sure if thats exactly how its worded, but that should let you watch what happens in other civs battles (don't know I've never turned it on) Don't know if thats what you're looking for, or if you mean you want to play in a spectator type mode where you don't play, just watch. Don't know if you can do that, but good luck.
I stupidly deleted my e-mail with the activation key for DA. Is there some way I can quickly get that number? I've already contacted [email protected] Nevermind, just realized that number is in my registration section of my account.
Is SDC required to download it, or can it be downloaded as a seperate file like the patches? I ask because the computer I run the game on can't connect to the internet, and the computer I connect to the internet with can't run the game. Nevermind found answer in other post, thanks.
So I've been hearing about the Super-Manipulator ability and was just wondering if anyone could clarify how it works. AFAIK it make you better at persuading other civs to go to war with each other. If any one could give me details I'd be very appreciative as I usually concentrate on a high diplo low military style of play, and have found that starting wars can be an extreemly effective tool. Thanks
Wow thanks a lot!!!
Okay so I'm trying to update my copy of the game (I'm still playing version 1.0) and I followed the directions for updating a computer without an internet connection and I just have two question: 1.) They said that I should get a response in 16 hours, is that bussiness hours? 2.) Are they going to send me a large file or anything like that? I ask because the e-mail address I gave them is at a university and I will reject anything in excess of 50Mbs or some similar amount. Th
Oh I must have missed that. Is there any way to change (the way I play a 25% soldiering bonus is useless) that and have it still be legitamate for metaverse play, if not thats something I really think they should include in later updates. I know you can change the default races to suit you're needs, but I want to play my race.
Yeah, the Altarian theme is a cheese fest. Haha
Anyone care to comment on this? (especially any of the devs who have time)
I was looking through the posts and stumbled onto this one. Be sure to at least read the bottom half. Link If I understand correctly, a player who plays a custom race is always at a disadvantage because they don't have an inherent special ablility? Is this correct, does anyone know? I mean I was planning on putting some scores on the metaverse once I got my internet situation sorted out, but if I ha
I don't know how they coded this of course but in general, when you generate a random number in a program its within a range of specified numbers, so perhaps it generates a range of possible difficulties with your selected difficulty being the value from which to diverge. Maybe, again I have no idea how they coded it so I'm really just mouthing off. Of course I'm sure they could have made them average out to whatever difficulty you chose, but I guess
I personally like that you only have the option of invading and taking over a planet. It forces you to commit to its defence and slows down your assault. This help to minimize the complete annhiliation of a race in one fell swoop. (Still happens sometimes though) As for the plaentart combat being more involved, I think that would be fun if done the right way. Not really sure what that way is though. Ernst
I guess that must mean the music is good (I enjoy it at least), if you or I can't tell if it changes it must be doing what it is intended to do, put us in the right mood for taking over the galaxy. haha Ernst
I'd also like to know if some other system for updating will be available to those who don't have an internet connection at the present time, like me. Ernst
Crap! Sorry I did it again, will someone please move this to Game talk, or is it there, I'm getting confused. Will someone tell me how to post in Game Talk if you reply to my post. It does say that I'm posting to game talk, or at least I thought it did. Thanks, Ernst Edit: Nevermind I think I figured it out.
Is it just my imagination or does the music in the game change depending on whats going on in the game. For example, in the beggining, before you meet any other races the music is more empty. Once you meet someone the musical theme becomes more complex. In a war the music is much more tense, if your losing it becomes ominous, if you're winning it changes to a tone more suited to smashing your enemies. Is this just my imagination, or has any
Oopse, would someone move this to game talk, I tried to repost it there, but foolishly double posted.
I wish people would stop asking for tactical combat in this game in posts about what people want for the updates/expansions. It seems like those people just want to play MOO/MOO2 in a GalCiv format. Don't get me wrong I love the MOO games and still play MOO2 to this day When I first bought this game I thought to myself "Its good, but it doesn't have tactical combat" and I wanted it to have tactical combat. But after playing it I realized that its curre
You can also pass the "w" argument (no quotes) to a shortcut to run it in windowed mode. I had the same problem as you and I only wish I had known about the fix Darth Kryo suggests as the pictures on the screen didn't match up to where I was supposed to click when that happened, it took me forever to fix as I had to randomly click around on the video options screen. Ha

You do need a good amount of cash on had, as well as good cash flow, to maintain a substantial armada of ships Are you referring to : Debug Message: Destroying ship Altarian Fleet 1102. Thanks, your the only person to respond to any of my posts so far ha ha.
I'd really like to see them add more depth to the good/ neutral /evil thing as I usually play a neutral race focusing heavily on economy, trade, and diplomacy. This lets me steer galactic events to an extent, but usually all the good and evil races die off, leaving only neutral, which as someone mentioned earlier is kind of boring. Well not boring really, it just seems to lack a certain character without the goods and evils. Ernst<br/
