Is it just me or is 2k making up some BS excuess just Lucas Arts because they didn't want their game to get pirated?
What do you expect? I dont think that civ rev would sell any good as a pc game. And it may even dampen the sells of the next civ game for the pc if anyone thinks its like the other pc games. Seriously, there are enough civ games for pc, play those if you want to play civ on pc.
You know how, as you use larger and larger hulls, the components take up slightly more space? Autodesigned ships aren't affected by that. All their components take up as much space as they would on a self-designed tiny ship.
That may be an explanation, since the bug mostly happens to bigger hulls.
You should stick to the auto-designed ships since I think the same bugs affect the AI and thus they would have much more powerful ships than you if you
This is also one more reason why the EU is such a horrid idea, and a step away from democracy. Praise the Irish and Swedes.
Read the topic again please. the EU REJECTED the law. but it did not stop any member from passing an own law either. So its up to the local democracy. I dont see how the eu hurt anyone in this case. And why do you praise sweden and ireland?
Why does anything have to be balanced? Don't measure it upon that. Measure it on the fun you're having, or the challenges laid before you.
If you are having fun despite of imbalances, you just dont know the game well enough yet to get frustated about it.
If the Horde is outnumbered so badly wouldn't it make dungeoncrawling as a Horde member better? You would be competing vs. less people for the loot? Is that not how it works?
No, its not a

Its a known bug since at least two partches but stardock didnt managed to fix it yet. The designer sometimes puts more compenents on a ship than allowed. if you upgrade such ships you should see at the upper right that the ship is oversized.
....although I did abuse it a bit during the sixties! The 60's?Where was Norton in the 60's????Where was the PC?And, how did you abuse it in that time period?
He was referring to his brain, you know, where you "save" what you have read in a post. :p
Holy crap, you guys pay the equivelent of 90 USD for console games? That is robbery.
The prices simply dont adapt to the euro to dollar exchange rate. the price for console games was at 60 euro (or equivalent) back in the 90's and didnt changed since then. same with the price for pc games. (roughly 40-50€ depending on the game) at least in germany. Thats why i buy most of my games at online stores since i discovered that method.

The plasma weapons are only visuell, belonging to the template the game used to design the ship. They do nothing, while the real weapons are invisible to let it look like the template. But the other thing is a bug.
Who reads EULA's? I certainly don't, they would probably stop me from buying. If you want to know what is wrong with the software and gaming industry, read the EULA.
I was just making the point that you can get punished only because of using a crack. Of course, this will hardly happen because of various reasons. But noone should illude himself by saying cracks would be legal in any kind.
Now what we really need is some sort of slight nerf to illuminators.. when a 2 to 1 ratio of assailants vs illums still loses, something's a little quirky. Maybe slower speed? Slower ROF? A more narrow attack radius?
Illus need 3 research labs compared to one for assiliants the tech cost 800/100/175 compared to 400/0/25 (cause of the higher tier) illus cost more to build assiliants have far superior range assiliants phase missles can bypass shields <br
I would make the exception that someone who purchases a legal copy of a game and then uses a pirated copy of that game (e.g. due to DRM preventing them say reinstalling their legal copy) shouldn't be punished (even if it is technically illegal) Thats a fair call, you make a good point, I had not thought of that angle, and I agree, it would be silly to prosecute.RegardsZy
Any Enduser license for software includes a paragraf which forbids manipulating the soft

I can only agree with maudlin27. The Irony is, if people do not buy some game because of the copy protection and it gets poor sales, the publishers will blame piracy for it and make the protection even more intrusive. Maybe they will learn someday.
. The main problem is in large battle where everone, has maxed out there Fleet logistics (for both fleet supply and capital ship), and there for have a huge upkeep that does not scale, with the real amount of ships, in your fleet.
If this is the problem why not take the obvious solution: scale the amount/power of ships you get from RA dependent on your fleet logistics. Just like normal ship production depends on our resource income, RA should give you less ships the h
So the game can still say "yes" to having a multiplayer , but it will probably not be a medium for getting skilled in a rts style community with clans , ladders and stuff .
But the topic said "single player only". Like GalCiv2. Obviously, he wanted to game to be so deep that there was no time for multiplayer.
While a multiplayer feature is far easier to add on top of an already designed game.
