Chapter 4: Darkness incarnate After many weeks our constructor vessel reached its destination, and we finally learned our task. Out of the portholes we could see an immense shard of crystal. A crystal that glowed with light, as if alive somehow. Our masters wanted a starbase built to harness the energy of this crystal. We were told that this starbase would be of great significance to our creators.

I've gotta say this story was a cracking good read. I thought a bit of thread necromancy was warranted.
Chapter 3: Toil, toil, and more toil Being pleased with their latest creations the Korath soon put us to work. The scale of modern research facilities cannot be overstated. They are cities devoted entirely to research. There is no other way to describe them. It was into one of these facilities I was transferred to toil for the benefit of my creators. I worked on social technologies, economic technologies,
Chapter 2: Evaluation After my birthing, and my ordeal with the neural imprinter, I was cast into a chamber with a multitude of beings who looked a lot like me. In fact exactly like me. They were my siblings, from the same clone model line as me. We were the initial batch of 100 clones based on our particular genome. The test batch if you will. The Korath like to tinker with different combinations of genes when they design their research slavel
Very glad you guys are enjoying the story. This story is loosely based on game yes. My main motivation is story telling though, rather than a precise game description. I'll talk you through the game this story is based on once the whole story has been completed. Too much detail about the game at this stage may just give a few too many clues about the storyline I have planned.
Any comments or suggestions on this story are very welcome. Also for anyone who was reading my previous story, A Twisted Reflection, the ending has now been posted at long last. ************************************************************************************ Chapter 1: A rude awakening The first few seconds were the worst. My apologies this has been so long in coming. Thank you all for your patience. ************************************************************************************ Chapter 6: The path to redemption Lindis could finally rest easy. The escape from the IAS Nightblade had gone off with barely a hitch. The crew and guards had been caught completely by surprise, whilst the Drath computer v
Chapter 5: The enemy of my enemy Lindis was getting really bored of being imprisoned. He was being shipped back to Altaria for a hasty public trial and execution. All so an inconvenient state secret could remain under wraps. And ironically one of the judges that had condemned him was also shipping him off to his doom. It made sense though. By having Captain Dein tran
My apologies for the delay in producing this chapter, it's been a hectic week. ************************************************************************************ Chapter 4: Justice of the Empire Finally. Lindis had been kept in the starbase’s prison for what seemed like days. Now the guards had come to take him before a tribunal.
The main problem I have with the colony rush is maintaining a decent economy, which is very difficult when your pumping out colonies as fast as possible. Newly founded colonies are massive cash sinks until their populations grow to a decent size. The Drath are particuarly bad at this stage of the game because of their population growth penalty. When playing the Drath the solution I found was two-fold. Firstly don't build anything apart from a recruiting centre on new colonies until th
The Torians are quite good for this kind of strategy owing to their Super Breeder ability. You can quickly grow your population, and thus your economy. This is useful as your research ability is ultimately dependent on your economy. They're also very good at the colony rush phase of the game, so can help you gain a good cluster of colonies before you switch into development mode. Just be sure to trade for the other races research structures, as the Torians' ones aren't that go
Hazzah! The undisputed master returns. This is a cracking story themocaw.
Actually the text is there, it's just black for some reason. You can read it fine if you highlight it with the mouse. Good story by the way as well.
Chapter 3: Digging for answers Lindis yawned. He had started work early this morning. He had been given use of a small office in the starbase’s Intelligence Centre. He had a lot of research to do proving or disproving Lt. Darue’s story. Some of the pieces had fallen into place though. Firstly a full analysis of Lt. Darue’s secondary gen
All I have to say after seeing that trailer is oh dear. With the possible exception of Zachary Quinto the cast looks completely out of place. Most look far too young, and just look like a bunch of feckless "edgy" teenagers that have been handed the keys to the Federation flagship (as if that would happen). The inclusion of an old American car just seems plain bizzare and yet another redundant American culture reference like those that littered Voyager. I am a big
Glad your enjoying it guys. I'll try and keep the updates coming as quick as I can. ****************************************************************** Chapter 2: The Invisible Hand Major Lindis had just arrived on the Devoa system’s military starbase. He was tired and irritated. He had just journeyed across three sectors to follow up a lead o
Gotta say the Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan is epic.
I should quickly explain the premise of this story. It is based on the game's Mirror Universe scenario. For those of you unfamiliar with the scenario it basically exchanges the moralities of the Drengin and the Altairians. In the scenario the Drengin stand for peace and justice, and the Altairians are evil conquerors. Any feedback on the story is very welcome. Chapter 1: A defiant prisoner </stro
You write well BKam. I must say I'm enjoying the unusual perspective of this story. I don't remember reading any AAR's written from a Korx perspective either, so I'm looking forward to reading that one when you get to writing it.
I hope everyone has enjoyed reading this story as much as I have enjoyed writing it. It would be good to get feedback from people on what they thought of it. I do do plan to start another serial soon, using the lessons I learned writing this one. I have a few plot ideas but suggestions are welcome.

Glad your enjoying it Eidolon. I think parts of it could have been written better, the dialogue turned out a bit weak I thought. Rest assured the next chapter is coming (next few days hopefully), its just been delayed by real-life concerns. I'm in the middle of writing my masters thesis at the moment, which is rather time consuming. I'd love to get feedback and comments from anyone reading this AAR, especially on how anything I could do to improve it.

I should also have mentioned this post, TA101: https://forums.galciv2.com/310907 Its hands down the best strategy post i've read and should get you off to a good start with the game.
