Don't RAID unless you have a specific RAID controller card, specifically with onboard DDR memory and four HDDs for RAID10... Bare minimum. Onboard RAID sucks. End of story. -DrGonzo
Shouldn't forget to get a second identical controller as a backup while you're at it. The main reason onboard is crappy a lot of the time is because a lot of times it is really software/driver based; another reason is if the controller goes out on a

RC installs fine from clean boot. I keep some spare swappable drives around specifically for playing around with stuff like this. I installed it over a VMWare ESXi setup I wasn't using. That said, I still don't think it is quite ready as a primary OS as not all the software I like to have is ready just yet. I installed the Kaspersky beta and get lockups about every other boot; I'm not sure if it's from the AV beta or if Win7 doesn't like me manually reorganizing the start menu.
I may not be too experienced in MP, but my every instinct cries out a great big NO. If their creeps are at your citadel, that means your main defensive lines are already down, and your creeps are being negated (either they are mashing your creeps or have taken your portals). When both conditions are met, even that nuke wouldn't help you comeback. (If it did, it should cost a lot more than 10,000.)
I am kinda burnt on AMD now. Last desktop I built, I spent over $400 just on the cpu and near $200 on the mobo. A few months later the cpu was 1/3 the price and the socket(939) had been discontinued. But yeah, AM3 should provide some future-proofing.
One thing I would say is NO SUBSCRIPTION. This is not an MMO, there is no persistent "world", heck your "character" state pretty much resets from round to round. To go further, think about making all future content free, yes that's right I said it free. Why? You can keep the price of the game the same, just keep adding value to it making it more attractive, and not make the people who've been with it from earlier feel like schmucks for not waiting for the super-duper-extra cheap colle
Seconded. (Edit: Ok, fourthed.)
Well, I am out of ideas...weird that it is the whole screen going black even when in windowed mode though.
Well, I wouldn't have bothered with the i7 965. I am pretty sure the performance difference from the i7 920 doesn't really justify the four-fold price increase; but, hey, if you've got money to burn, and it is worth it to you, then why not. (I would've used the money to get better/more graphics cards.)
I thought about that too, so I've been running the game in window mode with the same results.
So when you say same results, do you mean the entire monitor goes black or just the game window?
Not sure a map editor is possible. Those map have nothing to do like Wc3. those are modelled in a 3d program imo. But I wish I was wrong....
Well, they could create a "tile" based map editor that saves or compiles the tile map into an appropriate 3d model.
I was just thinking along the lines that some older games I've played seem to exit weird and my monitor doesn't seem to know to switch resolutions. I.E. Tried the old Majesty Demo last week and you can't even select a resolution (didn't check but it couldn't have been more than 800x600). About half the time, when I would exit out I would have to turn my monitor off and back on because it didn't know to switch back to my 1600x1200 resolution. Maybe there is some weird error that halfway kicks
Well, I think the first couple responses pretty much covered it. Freedom of religion, especially within one's own home should be respected. However, if the street is as crowded as I suspect with that many people, the neighbors might not be out of line complaining. Especially if the excessive cars hinder emergency vehicles from getting where they need to be. I don't know about you but if I need paramedics, I don't want them to have to "go around the block" to get to me because it is fa
1. IT IS NOT ALL ABOUT THE WATTS....YOU ALSO HAVE TO CONSIDER THE AMP OUTPUT. the same wattage can be configured to a wide range of AMP output.
I was under the empression volt*amps=watts; and since we really don't change voltage, more watts = more amps, and not a varying number or "range" of amps. Maybe I am misunderstanding how power supplies are rated? (Most outlets are rated for not much more than 15A, and the breakers their usually attached to are designed to fire a
Do you two have any sort of VPN (or Hamachi) connection between each other? How many connections to your local lan do each of you have? Even if there isn't a shared connection, are there any VPN\Hamachi connection at all in the mix?
So instead of posting to your original (only 3 day old thread) you start a new one?
Logitech MX510, its lasted me years....I bought it when they first came out. I had a short stint with that MS licensed Razer mouse, but the cord went out on me in under a year, and I am not even that tough on mice.
Nevermind, this is happening with all my games now. I've contacted XFX to see what they have to say... I certainly hope it is a video card error, and not something worse. If anyone has any general suggestions though, please let me know
It's possible that Demigod stresses a certain part of video cards more than other games, and that stress is causing the flaw in the card to get worse (i.e. noticeable in other games)
Just throwing something out there...what happens if you turn the monitor off and then back on while in this black screen state?
Sorry, other than the forums ..., I don't sit here researching the game.
Yeah, it's been mentioned on the forums...in probably the last 24 hours.

If its not a hidden blue screen it could be a flaky/weak power supply/power line. Power instabilities can appear to be reset/power button presses to some systems. Some systems also shutdown when temperatures exceed certain thresholds (may be configurable in BIOS).
I always have to laugh when I read about the pixel 2.0 shader crew appearing on forums (they did it with Bioshock too) demanding recently released games work on their very out dated hardware. Pixel shader 3.0 cards have been around since 2004 and it's been over 5 years now since that hardware was made available to pc gamers. Gaming on the PC means you'll have to upgrade to play newer games it's just something you need to come to terms with. Pickin
