I just kill the torians asap

yeah but who needs defense when this game is based on who shoots first?
the graphic never showed for me about the bird eggs, oddly enough.
Try this: Right click your loader icon, go to properties. Where it says "target" at the end of the target line in quotes, press space then add in nointro (similar step to add the cheat tag, you can have both the cheat and nointro just type space then cheat after nointro). This disables the intro movie, which is what seems to be causing GalCiv to not boot up properly. Your target tag should now look like this: "C:\Program Files\Stardock\TotalGaming\GalCiv2\GalCiv2.exe
LOL thats not even a gal event... I should know, went through em all to try to mod the frequency. Good photoshop though.
nointro works better, i uninstalled and am reinstalling the whole game plus patch right now.
Reason I ask this is because thanks to 1.11x patch, I now cant load galciv. At all. I revert to the older patch, and it loads just fine, but if I use the newer patch, it says something like lib3d.dll is not a valid windows image file. Edit: Exact message i get after updating: The application or DLL C:\Program Files\Stardock\TotalGaming\GalCiv2\Lib3d.d
Not sure if this belongs in modding... but you know how you add the cheat tag right? is there a way to turn off the intro movie? I hate how it keeps getting corrupted or something and takes forever to load just cause of the movie alone. like maybe -nomov or something where -cheat is?
For the mixed ships (white star and excalibur, etc etc) just add to ethical aglinement tech... if you choose evil, you get the shadow/terran mixed hybird ship with associated armor/weaps, if neutral, you get excalibur, if good, the whitestar. Might be easier that way, and makes sense, really.
Normally I just choose based on this: 12+ land planets = manufacturing centers with 1 happiness generator, 1 farming 10-12 planets = NORMALLY research only (after buying the first two factories, then 1 entertainment) All the rest, OR if one planet has population booster tiles on it- 1 farm (or more, depending on how many pop boosters) and 2 entertainments per farm, then the rest is easily stock markets. I often end up with only needing 33% tax rate, as if i was at 80% (the c
Evil gives you free upgrades for your starbases. it also opens the oppurinity for free invasion tactics, so you can use say, mini soldiers, each and every time for free, saving you a lot of money which would be better used developing planets or buying out techs from the neutral races. As for good, I never played good... (choosing the good ethical options are just too... well, its like stabbing yourself in the leg ) <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Mad.gif" border=0 ALIGN="ab
or just scroll with your mouse wheel... it zooms back in haha...
U kidding me? Evil pwns. Free invasion tactics, uber weps, free starbase upgrades.... those stuff alone boost ur econ so you can spend your money on more importiant things, like buying gas for your car.
Just post it.
Boogiebac: Easy. We'll just do it one by one, in full sight of you guys while at work in your cubicles... excellent motivation, right? (Yes, I play evil choices every time, all the time) CariElf: Actually, I do defrag once a month at least. But since the new patch, and boosting my pf, over this past week my drive somehow became HEAVILY fragmented. Concidence?
Or the expansion. That I'd definitly like... (plus less buggy release of the expansion, i swear, if they release the expansion with this many bugs as well, someone's gonna PAY)
I did indeed find my hard drive heavily fragmented, but to me, the save/load times are normal. It's the ending program that causes my computer to freeze up, sometimes to the point I have to control-alt-del to end the process prematurely. I do notice the problems especially when A: fleets of large ships are on the screen (more than 2 fleets) and B: The ai has a large number of ships, and spends a lot of time moving all of them. Hope this helps. (EDIT: boogie, you wouldnt be
Well the way I see it, A troop transport should be destroyed in 2 cases. 1: Said toop transport fails an invasion. (ie, you attack, fail, nothing to stop the enemy from destroying the landed troop transport) 2: Shoot it in flight. In the event of a SUCCESSFUL invasion, the troop transport should NOT be destroyed, but instead, parked in orbit. Thats the way I expected it to happen, so seeing it go poof I was like GRR, wtf?! It shouldnt be eliminated, and i honest
I'd love the ability to not lose troop transports, as well as if I choose to not upgrade all at one point, but then decide to the next turn, I dont have to do it ship-by-ship, but can choose to upgrade all.
Everyone on the internet is a software engineer, lawyer, or doctor. Where did he say he was an engineer, lawyer, or doctor? He was just venting his fustration, which I second... the file isnt that big, it's the RAM leakage thats annoying me, so I have a ram cleanup program running and boot it up every single time the game crashes.
My tech stragety: in a large galaxy, have at least 3-4 prod only planets, with 1 farm and 2 entertainment centers. (for troop transports) Have said few prod planets crank out ships Rest of empire: only stock market, only res centers End result? insanely fast techs, ie, I once had no techs in armor tech, and finally decided to click on it, next turn, i was over halfway through that tree, and it was still going to take 1 turn to advance further. (By the time it took
I know that the reason this is in place is due to not sending millions of troop transports out on a rampage, but WHY does the troop transport screen say 2000 troops, when it takes up 2b of your population? You should reduce the population numbers to max on 5k on an non-farming planet instead, or increase the troop transport capicity to more accurately reflect the amount of troops that your transport takes away, ie, 2b for 2b, not 2k for 2b. (Unless you want to explain this away as soldiers being
Soldiering also works based on your tech level. IE, if you mopped up the rest of the civs, I'm sure you had a higher tech than them, and if your at all like me, You leave the weakest civs for last, or the overwhelmingly powerful for last as allies. If your tech level is way higher than the weakest civ, then no duh that only 3k soldiers can take out well over 12k.
Thats your playstyle, and that kind of design would suit you well. If I put one of my battleships alone versus endless fleets, it'd die pretty fast. With My playstyle, I cycle out the ships that may die in the next battle, replace them with a new ship, send the damaged ship to go defend a world, thus making their high hp bonus an armor unto itself. As thus, I often end up with level 50+ fighters, level 30+ battleships, etc, with insane amounts of hp. Who needs armor when your ships ha
Try the ai on genius the AI in your team goes through the roof, and they end up way stronger than youd think. But be prepared to bend over backwards in trades for techs...
