I know the vasari starbase has colony, pods, tec have factory and advent have culture. Research colonies is also on my list to save up those logistic slots for trade ports and frigate factories. This idea is good, and modding could help take advantage of this. Reason being currently planets are so vulnerable to bombardment because of the lack of viable defenses. Don't be so quick to kill off this idea. I wouldnt be the first to think turrets without phase jump engines are needed for this game. You also mis-understood my point, i don't need the turrets to be ferried, i need them to have atleast some kind of propulsion system or better an increased range if there stationary. Since vasari get mobile starbases, why can't tec and advent get a mobile defense turret thats got 2000 hull instead of 3000? Let me know what u all think? The turrets will still remain planet bound. I'd really love this idea to be put in the game because i'm sure the devs can find a way of making it balance. In a more realistic world, no space defense platform is stationary from an engineering point of view and can be moved by ferrying it with another ship.
This would be very interesting because it could allow a steady increase in income,production and reasearch even if you loose planets to the enemy. Say population of 250x for each titan. It will also allow mobilizing fleets in a star systems without worlds that can support life..gas giants. Which is in fact more realistic. What do u guys think? i have had 7 weeks experience with trinity and i can honestly say its best they not make a campaign for this game right now. Its too epic a war to solidify something impressive as a story. It will take too much time and resources to even reach starcraft 2's campaign level.

The vasari rebels want to go to church and prey for the salvation of their race from the hands of an ancient enemy so start a religion- while the tec have had it playing defensive and being bullied so decide to go all duke nukem and adopt weapons of ultra mass destruction (titan:Planet Killer). Well solved my problem. The actual movement of the ships at x2-faster was chewing up my cpu-- i reduced the movements of the ships to below normal while playing at x2 -faster for everything else. The actual pacing of the game is faster due to the economy and ship production while not having to deal major lag during battles. I enjoyed a full game on my laptop with no problems. I guess for larger maps its possible to play on my pc.
