I always play random enemies, and I invariably get stuck fighting the Drengin, the Korath, or both. One of them always becomes a super powerhouse. Only reason last game the Korath didn't become unstoppable was because the Thalan were so unbelievably powerful that they ate the korath for lunch. The Torians can be very bad ass also. Sometimes they start insane and drop off to nothing, but they can also keep being godly too. I can't recall the Krynn ever being ridiculous. They're usually n
Actually, soil evidence collected by one of our rovers revealed that Martian dirt is quite similar to our own, and that it could probably support many plants were it not for the lack of water.
Not to mention the lack of appropriate atmospheric gases and pressures, and extremely low temperatures.
haha yeah the idiot drath did the same thing to me a few hours ago. the terrans also bragged about extended support. oooooo +40 range. I'm crapping my shorts in terror!!
Haha. I was going to make a post about this type of thing. The Super Race. Every game, one race becomes this unbelievably dominant powerhouse that is stronger in every category than all other races combined, and I play with 8 races. This race can fight simultaneous wars against every other empire and not only survive, but flourish. How the sweet F does a race have an economy 5 times better than mine when they have less planets, and i have a bit more population, and i have 2 maxed out econ resour
Yeah I get that over a dozen times per game. I quicksave before I spy on anything. The crash also occurs if an enemy spies on you, you receive a notification in the right side bar, and you click on it. It's frustrating, but this game is so damn fun I just swear at the monitor and run the program again.
By that I mean it seems to me that the units of population are in trillions whereas income, military and tech appear to be in millions. One thing that correlates that is the "wrap" that occurs in the graphs of population at around the 6.4 trillion level. A similar "wrap" occurs in your military rating at about 6 million and then again at 12 million.
As someone who thinks playing a game on large is a big deal, I find having values that high mind-blowing. But I guess it mak
This is the only part I can argue with. I assure you, someone(s) at Stardock know exactly what formula is used to calculate a score. So it is not entirely unknowable.
That's pretty much what I meant. I knew the information existed, I just had no idea if there was a wiki I couldn't find or something. And yes I do agree the exact formula shouldn't be divulged to maintain some fairness. And hot damn is calculus cool. Mumble, how did you come to the realization about the scor
Interesting. You must have an engineering or math degree :) I'm glad I've taken calculus so I know what you're talking about. In regard to the points for income, it's measured by total revenue not net income correct? Also, with military, I'm guessing ships I build that are destroyed do not generate any points for me. Or is this also the integral area under the curve where these ships contribute to score for the length of their existence? Thanks for the info
This occurred again. Once more, it appears to be an issue with a ship construction. Default ship parts. I sent a SmartException zip to Stardock support with a brief explanation. I will send the log as well as my autosave to One thing though, my save crashes when used. Not sure if that will help, but I'll let the experts decide that. Wardell/Kryo '08
I've checked all over, and I can't find any information regarding how you earn the points in a metaverse game. What I mean is, let's say I win and get 30,000. What gave me the 30,000? Population, military power, influence, how do these factor into the scoring? Do you get X points for having Y population, etc?
The appreciation of past help can become a double ++ if you hook them up often enough as well.
Funny that you mention that, because I very recently realized the awesomeness of this tactic too. I'm up to playing on masochistic, and this has literally saved me from extermination. Quick story: Altarians were ranked like 7th out of 8 in military, then they EXPLODED with medium ships with lots of beams (everyone else was still using small). Before I could boost my military, they declared war on me. I was Terrans btw. My only chance was to sic the military powerhous

Hmm. I realized that on the turn of the crash, a contructor I was building completed. It said something in the log file about this being a problem. I'm using a normal cargo hull, no fancy skins or anything. I canceled the contructor building and there was no crash the following turn. I hope this was random, because that juicy econ resource is begging me to waste the Thalans and build a starbase on it ;P
Ok, I'm playing a metaverse game on masochistic. I'm doing AMAZING (IMHO). Then I click turn and the game crashes. I downloaded smartException and I have a log file from it that lists all the stuff that went down. I don't know beans about coding so if the problem is there, I can't see it. Do I copy and paste the log contents into this post? Also, does TA make it's own log file in these instances? I've checked tons of folders but can't find one. Any help is greatly appreciated :D
I've never seen that. That could be bad. Does anyone know what the selection criteria are for the techs that are automatically traded? It would suck to get like space mining II, and give out doom ray. Essentially, giving gold, and receiving pewp.
I like my women like i like my stardock Bug Fixes:"honey, i didnt know how to do a proper brake job, so i modded my skills with the correct info" "there was a bug in the 'i wont bug you while u play games' file. IMO, spying the way it is now isn't a viable strategy. Spies cost too much money for how quickly they can vanish. I'd much rather divert that income toward ship maintenance and conquer planets and score a stolen tech. The actual spying setup isn't bad. But the costs associated vs the ease with which they can be lost are unfavorably skewed.
I kicked ass in my Yor game. Try them again. I had tech trading on, and used some production buildings I traded for to fill in any gaps in my manufacturing. And I was vicious with starbase mining bonus things. I will go nuts on someone for an econ bonus. I love those more than the war ones.
I've been hesitant to play the Arceans for that exact reason. The minus to speed, in my mind, is a huge disadvantage. But as stated above, if they have techs that can balance it out, perhaps I will give them a try.
It's not the Drengin that uses spores, it's the Korath. That being said, they generally send the ship without any back up. I suggest placing ships between their space and your planets. That way, when those spore ships head your way, you can smoke them before they take your planet.
think they burn you at the stake in World of Warcraft for being a noob
I stopped posting on the WOW forums after 1 day of light posting. So many self-righteous, 'I think I'm the man because I have full s3' losers I just couldn't stand it anymore. The people on this forum seem a lot less psycho.

Yeah I've been having some crashing issues. Sometimes I will select an enemy planet, click "spy" and bang program crashes. It happens often enough to where i do a quick save before i spy on a planet in a new turn.
