Edit: What is with the forums today? This time I even reloaded this page to make sure that I didn't double-post, and only reposted after checking. Bam. Double-post. Bah!

FASCIST ENCHILADAS! FUCK YEAH!
Hahaha, seems I wasn't the only one getting "Forums go BOOM!" and kept going back and reposting. Everyone jumping the thread like ravenous wolves. [e digicons]^_^[/e] On a more serious note, though , I don't mind the way this sounds at all. I just really, really hope that they take the opportunity to take a step away from Good-Evil dichotomy. I've always hated Necromancy in most settings because it tends to be universally evil while re
The Kingdom of Luckmania isn't on that list either, it doesn't mean it won't make the game. (Hey, the Bear crusade is kinda over, I need a new thing) :p
Edit: Forum wickedness.
[...] Death and life mana generation could either be moved to a shard system similar to the other elements or be represented by everything that lives / dies . I’m partial to the latter myself but I would find shards acceptable. I’m not a fan of the current system where the Channeler always acts as the life or death shard but I don’t outright hate it either. <e

I'm really not a fan of Tolkien, but it has nothing to do with the elves and dwarves (even if an argument can be raised as to wheter or not he did create the current elven and dwarven races of fantasy at large). What I meant was that David Eddings almost exclusively had humans as
I don't even view the move as "gutsy". Just sensible. At most, ever, I'd like to see maybe 1 more species. Other than that, there's absolutely no need for dwarves, elves, draconoids, halflings and whatever omgthisissocoolIwanttoplayonelol-"race" you can come up with. It probably helps that my favourite fantasy author is David Eddings, not Tolkien.
The random map generator was reasonably good at making fair maps. It wasn't as good at making "interesting" maps compared to what the map editor could do. AoW had very pretty maps if you spent a lot of time with the doodads and such. I've never seen a map generator get that type of accessory right, in any game.
There's nothing like the loving touch of a creator.

Had a ton of problems with getting hold of all the patch files (for those of us with a fresh installation). Got some great help on the forums, since the official download servers for the patches appear to be down. Just felt that I should share in case the issue pops up for anyone else; http://www.thewitcher.com/forum/index.php?topic=25061.0 [quote who="woca" reply="9" id="23162
