the game seems interesting. Also it will be much more appealing to the people who want to just get in the game and blow stuff up, which on occasion I am one. I wonder why they didnt mention GCII in thier review? oh well. I will buy it, but GCII will remain my space empire game, that game will become my blow things up in space game.
well it seems that what people are worried about is if everyone is gone but the guy who plays almost non stop that he will try to conquere everything in one night while no one is playing. i have an idea on how to stop this. If you attack the empire of someone who is not logged on you face massive unrest in your own empire. just imagine you attack a player who is not logged in and half of your citizenry take up arms against you. I know that there are probably holes in this but plz point them out.
I find your posts very engaing. You have on many occassions posted views that completel contradict mine, but I enjoy crossing swords. I actually see no reason why you would be banned

Thats funny. In my games the AI do form alliances but then they use that to make war between the large alliances. After the "Great War" has gone on for a while the allainces tend to break up and get smaller and smaller until it is one big every civ for themselves war.
It counts total attack plus defence. You had some powerful ships but their combined attack and defence was not as high as the other races. But when you go to war with them you are not taking thier entire military in one battle, so your few powerful ships are able to best thier few crappy ships. since thier entire navy cannot be in one space battle. See it makes since.
These are very nice maps and charts, but you also have to consider the ingame cost. Lets say your enmies have very good shield tech. Well you are going to have to reearch and use some other wapon type. It really doesnt matter much. The whole piont is not how fast you research them it is the applicability of the weapon, how effective it will be in battle. however these are very helpful charts. But in all it seems irrelivant how many turns it will take to research that weapons branch. It all depen
All you have to do is double click the building annoucement. It then takes you to the planet screen. When you exit out of that it takes you right back to news screen.
Well if it is propaganda it does not work. Have you watched CNN lately, very anti-war,anti-Bush,anti-anything that has any moral value. we are far from a brainwashed society. Also France has no right to say a thing about what the US does. We arent the ones with rioters in our streets.

I do not see the problem. He is useing his smarts to beat the game. You do it, I do it, we all do it. He has just taken it to the extreme. I see nothing wrong. It is a game. It is meant to be beaten. In my games the Snathi seem to take on the galaxy and win almost every time. Until they run into me that is.
The Snathi are always the most evil creatures in my games. they often make the Drengin and Yor look like preschoolers. In one of my games they stole the advanced Drengin's tech, and then crushed them under thier furry heel. They went on to conquer most of the galaxy before I allied them and made an awsome sneak attack that keft them in shambles. There have been several other similar scenarios. In short the Snathi are EVIL.
I was in no way demeaning the contributions of other nationsin in the world wars, now that i reread the post it does sound like that. All I m saying is that allies should support each other against common foes. Also our elections are based on the decisions of the populace. The only way a party could truly garuntee that they stay in power is by brainwashing millions of Americans.

A word to our Canadian friend, IF I was being spyed on by my government, I would have nothing to worry about. It is only the bloddthirsty terrorist who should worry. I have never had that problem, I always research xeno ethics then on to the academy thing and just upgrade them from there. I always have NLCs within a few turns of choosing my alignment.
so an 07 release isn't a possibilty? oh well ill just stick with GC2. By the way this game sounds great, truly revolutionary oyu and Will Wright have got it going on

Well I see I am definitely not by myself on this, please keep the forums. I check them almost evryday to read what you and others have posted. so there are some people who just cant be pleased, dont sweat it, they always get put in thier place by myself and athers who see such ungratfulness as rude and inconsiderate. Also the heart of this site is the forums if you where to remove them the site would dry up. so please dont close the forums unless it is absolutely neccessary.
I bet that is what the Thalan are mad about. Imagine this< A few centuries pass and the humans come out of the bubble armed with amazing technology. They conquer the galaxy and set up a human imperium. In GC3 the Thalans are the only hope for the galaxy. they must defeat the evil human empire and free the galaxy. that would be so cool.

Alpha Centauri was awesome. the way it pulled you into the game, you actually started to care about the goals of your faction. Like being the industrialists and wiping out the pathetic tree huggers. Ha Ha
I find the tech tree to be very understandable. In fact, at first it did confuse me only because I was so used to civ4's stlye, with this tech and this tech having to be researched before this tech. GC2' tech tree is extrmely comprehensive and easy, just research according to your current and future needs, the techs are fairly self explanitory
