I just picked up TA, after been on a hiatus for such a long time. Love it. However, I don't understand some of the new (race specific or not) planetary improvements. I've read the description, but still don't understand the significance of say having improvement X and not having improvement Y on the same planet. What if I only have improvement Y? Or Both? Can anyone point me to a manual or guide? I can't seem to find one.

cari, no difference in gameplay. just to remind you how all my games go (only in DA): 1. things are OK at the beginning of a game. large map, randomness (that's how i like the game) 2. within 4-5 turns, graphics take a nose dive. 3. text labels are hardly readible 4. then.. blam! vector graphic city--tons of triangles fill my screen 5. or a vanishing point where all lines originate from the center of the monitor outwards. 5. nothing is le

Can someone clarify something for me? I am currently playing as Yor, and second most powerful civilization under the Drengin lords. We have had impecable relations, and all of a sudden they declare war on me. As I choose to speak to the Drengin, they are still listed as having the closest relations to me, and no "war" line is drawn between us in the foreign relations screen. Further, I cannot negotiate peace with them. They continue to attack me with ships that are

thanks for the update sean. i'm sorry it's not working for you, and really sorry that it's definitely not working for me either. i've updated everything and i cannot get things to run properly .
any update to this? changing the page file size did not help the plethora of video issues and general choppiness of the game, with graphics turned way down. this game is awesome. the only thing keeping it from being perfect are these bugs i'm experiencing that makes this game unbearable. I'm going to try to reinstall everything from the beginning.
Thanks Cari, I will try the page file size change. FYI, Some of the flickering and stuff went away after I turned throttle franme rate off and INCREASED AA to 1x or 2x. However, my regular games are still a little choppy; also, I have never had a problem with the original game (aka not Avatar).
I hope I am not thread jacking, but I am having the same problems. I am also getting low virtual memory. I was able to screen cap the sample video problem: http://img337.imageshack.us/my.php?image=imagegz4.png I also have the latest nvidia drivers. I hope this image helps anyone and everyone. edit: it has not crashed on me yet, but the frame rates are low, and images get all funky like the above link.
