I'll provide more in depth feedback this weekend when I have more time to play, but here are some initial thoughts: On the Govern Planet screen, could you please add the industry and ship symbols on the slider bar (to mirror the Civilization Govern screen). <span style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: medi

Would love the option to modify these like starbases as industrial, hull, and military tech advance.
Like many of the others have said, I think this is the right decision. I always thought the original Alpha schedule was too aggressive. Very much looking forward to the next update!
I set out to create a very complex ship whose sole purpose was to crash the game. It succeeded. The ship is shown below (inspiration should be obvious). This ship has a full three rows of parts. The fighters actually launch at 45 degrees to the main axis of the ship using oscillate (impressive w
On multiple occasions, when zooming in on a design, parts begin to disappear. Turret there. Turret Gone.
When creating ships with lots of parts, it would help if the Parts bar (bottom) would show all parts instead of having the scroll the bar each time (or at least give the player the choice of view). Thanks
Would love to see a screenshot.
Done. I've tried my hand at a few more designs, but the more complicated the design, the more obvious the shortcomings of the Alpha Ship Designer. Hardpoints and mouse-click-on-tools are the biggest issues with complicated designs. I know you folks are already working on those, so enough said. I will still try to build a design complicated enough to test the li

I had to post images to Postimage.org (free) and then use the "Direct Link" to get the images to show up here. This really needs to be explained somewhere in the forum.
Yeah! I figured out how to post images. (Yes, I'm a dunce.) I used Postimage.org then linked to the URL with the image tool. This is the Colony Ship in the description above. <img src="http://s25.postimg.org/cv7wbx3e7/Colony_Front.png" alt="Colony Front"
Tried copy and paste of images. Didn't work (they show up in the edit reply area but do not load to the forum). How do I embed screenshots into the forum? (The image tool asks for a URL; not sure how to get images from my hard drive to post).
After providing basic comments yesterday (which I won’t repeat), I wanted to walk through in detail my experience of designing a new ship. The basic design is simple: a bridge section, a central spine, a drive section at back, and both static and rotating sections. <span style="font-size: mediu
Helps a lot. Rapid responses and listening to player feedback is one of the reasons I really like Stardock. Appreciate the hard work. Looking forward to spending way too much time with this game. [e digicons][/e]
"The artist are currently going through and manually placing the hard point, and so all these issues should be fixed in the next Big build. As part of this we will be fixing the way that placing things on hardpoints is done, which will make making ships look good fast should be leaps and bounds better." Thank you. Even with the opt
Also just discovered that we can type in numerical values on the Scale/Rotate/Offset menu. This is a good feature but wasn't immediately obvious.

As others have stated, ship design is one of the most fun things to do in GC 2 and I expect nothing less in GC 3 (no pressure). How will ship design in GC 3 affect combat? (Other than weapon type damage, defense type damage, and compone
I'm a simple guy and most of this debate is too deep for me. I want to choose the best option for me at that moment in the game. In GC 2, I generally chose a neutral path, but I did it by choosing options from all three categories. I like that freedom of choice. I am not so fond of having to always choose one path.
I guess because I play a lot of 4x games (and have a game of Civilization V going when I'm not testing GC 3), I am used to single queues. Therefore, I could live with it, though I miss the dual queue as many others have said. I would support the idea of adding starbase modules that could manufacture ships, but like a military starbase, such modules would have to preclude the starbase being used for anything else. And, the defenses of such starbases should be weak enough that they mu

If the planet dock is full with constructors and I build another constructor, the new constructor does not appear and there is no scroll bar in the dock. For starbases, will the 4-hex exclusion zone apply to other player starbases as well? For instance, if I place an "influence" starbase in another player's star system, does that prevent them from establishing their own starbase in that system (within the exclusion zone)?
First impressions. Please disregard anything that is an Alpha issue. I played on a three monitor setup with Steam on one screen, MS Word on another screen (to type comments as I encountered stuff), and the game on my center screen. Even with this, the game did not crash or glitch during gameplay. Very stable so far. One minor graphics issue (see below). (Note: I have an NVIDIA GTX 760 graphics card and Windows 7.)
For those having this issue, one other person who had it said that changing the SpecialID value for the Gravity Accelerators in PlanetImprovements.xml from 0 to 9 fixed it, so give that a shot as a temporary fix. Kryo, I tried this and it didn't make a difference. The game still crashed. The SpecialID values are also different for GCII and DA (SpecialID 3), and TA (SpecialID 0), so I only tried it in TA. I am playing as the Terrans in version 1.91.021. 3) Managing my empire in the middle and late part of the games took so much time that I rarely watched the battles. Over 95% of my time was spent zoomed out clicking and placing icons. You know I kind of know what you mean and I have thought about this. During combat, and combat is really very entertaining, alot of bells are ringing, technology is completed, things get built, so
