How much of a speed boost did you get passing by all those starbases?

I think if you want them to guard ships you have to move the fleets yourself. Just build escorts with 1 movement and use the autopilot to send them along the same trade route. They'll follow right along with the ship.
IMO, the Star Wars program continued, but it got so good we had to let no one else in on it. So, if some of you on the west coast see a giant laser come out of the sky, Thank President Ragean. If Star Wars worked, it would be to America's advantage to make that known, the same way it's to Iran's advantage to let us know they're developing nuk
Sorry, man, lots of us have complained about that before. The good part is after about the third or fourth mission you get larger maps and they aren't so vulnerable to this before. The final mission in the campaign also plays like it was never playtested after the AI was complete. Just warning you.
I can see a little more Latin than the above poster, no expert though. The "w" sound in the singing is spelled "V" in Latin. Ok, that link broke the link code, here it is for copy and pasting. (In Firefox when I have to copy and paste a link I just select it and hit "Ctrl-C,T,V" to open it in a new tab very quickly.) http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=https://www.galciv.com/survive/docs/gfx/techtree_small.jpg&imgrefurl=https://www.galciv.com/survive/&h=415&w=640&sz=123&hl=en&start=5&tbnid=1fsZnp9GPkxuTM:&tbnh=87&tbnw=135&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dgalactic%2Bcivilizations%2Btech%2Btree%26svnum%3D10%26hl%3Den%2
Perhaps it wasn't politically correct enough, as far as it touched on evolution. While I was trying to remember the old techs, I found that the image of the full GCI tech tree in this Google Image search [link="http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=https://www.galciv.com/survive/docs/gfx/techtree_small.jpg&imgrefurl=https://www.galciv.com/survive/&h=415&w=640&sz=123&hl=en&start=5&tbnid=1fsZnp9GPkxuTM:&tbnh=87&tbnw=135&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dgalactic%2Bcivilizations%2Btech%2Btree%26svnum%
I'm really happy to hear about the customizable AI. I was afraid there wasn't enough reaction in the thread where you proposed it, but it will be great. Imagine trying to win a cultural victory in a galaxy where every other civ is trying to win a cultural victory . Imagine the prodigious Drengin AI turning its focus to industry. Imagine role-playing scenarios as you create small meek civilizations to protect from warmonger AIs. So Stardock never did think of putting weapons on a car
I don't use it myself but there is a GalCiv2 wiki [link="https://www.galciv.wikia.com/wiki/Galactic_Civilizations_Wiki"][/link]. I don't know if the users are keeping that documentation updated, but we know Stardock isn't, so at least there's a chance.
I use "F" to make fleets out of whatever ships are in the square. In the campaign you often can't research shields, unless you lose a mission and are taken to an alternate mission where shield research is becoming possible.
You guys have valid complaints, but they're not serious complaints that affect game play so I hope they don't divert resources from game play improvement. Maybe if you just build one really cool looking ship you can use the orbital view or the chase cam and the bobbing won't show from that angle.
If you cannot beat the mission without researching Shields or missiles, when you lose, there will be an alternate campaign opened up in a sector of the galaxy where research on shields is becoming possible.
Thanks for the update, I had forgotten all the bad buildings from this thread! (I wonder if this blue underlining in the posting box is going to show up when I post.)
Here's the Link to the thread where they were using government type in their formula for economy bonus, which was 31.5*sqrt(pop)*(sum of buildings on planet)*(racial ability bonus)*government form
I don't mind not being able to load saved games either (seems like I should, but I just don't). It just feels different when you give users the capability to create something. That needs to be lasting because they own a piece of it now, they built it and designed it themselves. Would people put all the time into the cool ships thread Link if they thought their work would all be undone next expansion? Apparently so, but I wouldn
I saw a thread where a guy very rigorously worked out the bonuses from the game itself, so I am thinking either they changed it or you are listing the tech bonuses and the governments do something else, or I am just wrong.
Similarly, politics scored very well and by that we meant domestic politics. We've always wanted players to have to deal with a cabinet and have more political party elements to deal with. In "real life" leaders of civilizations don't get to act in a vacuum. They have to deal with domestic pressures as well. You may want to conquer those Torians but your ability to do s
Holy cow, I can't believe they put out patches without backward compatibility! Don't they want people to upgrade?
Interesting post! Can you give a 1000% boost to Creativity, Courage, and Luck?
Given that the governments don't even provide the +25%/+25%/+25% production bonuses they say they do, (they give your economy +10, +20, and +30 instead), I don't expect them to have any far-reaching effects on things like population growth.
I wish you had it built like civilization 4, or at least make it its own screen big enough to look through it from end to begining easier. There's a "View More" button that lets you see and scroll around a little more at a time. <TD class="
It's possible there's some game mechanic you aren't exploiting. Like, are you banding your ships together in fleets? A fleet of several weak ships can often take out a strong one. Are you designing your own ships? If you've played the first GalCiv you know that this is not the kind of game where you can rescue yourself from ship inferiority with tactics. You have to build an economy that can compete in technology and ships, so a lot of the time the answer to "how can I compete" is
The petals are a means of sexual attraction via bees. A cooperative interspecies relationship. The leaves are "mouths" for energy; as well as the roots. Given enough time and the proper niche in evolution (via mutation, wich is the main aspect of evolution) could make a plant sapient. Larry Niven's Ringworld had a species of sunflower wi
Ability to disable trade goods and galactic achievements, or at least be able to create them if another civilization already made one bypassing the patent laws by dropping out of the united planets Hey, that's a brand new idea and I like it!
