I just tried to teleport to a tower on Brother -- one of the four towers of light in the central lane near the Celerity flag, on the Forces of Darkness side, on the left facing the Forces of Light. My Torchbearer wound up stuck between the two leftmost towers and was unable to move. Luckily I was carrying a second teleport, so I could escape. Would have sucked if I hadn't been.

I'm getting a bunch of different results when I try to start a Pantheon game with the beta patch. 1. Sometimes everyone connects almost instantly, the game loads, and everything is great. Unfortunately this happens only about 5% of the time by my estimation. Sometimes there's a bit of a delay and then it works. 2. Sometimes everyone connects almost instantly, the game loads, and I get "a player has left the game" and find myself playing with AIs and

Is anyone playing Skirmish or Pantheon with the beta? I tried a couple times this morning, and each time either it never found a match at all (i.e., the "connection info" dialog didn't come up), or I got a message saying I'd been kicked from the game for one reason or another, or I got the "A player has left the game" message at the loading screen. From the sound of the reports earlier, this patch works great for custom games, but it seems like it broke my Pantheo

Probably should of stuck with the normal version, but if your pushing this through on monday then it wont make a difference. Something is wrong because I have the ports open and I have the reactor set up to like my ports.
What he said. (EDIT: I should add that with the non-beta version, I
Personally, I think this kind of stuff should be built into the OS. As a game developer, I can’t even begin to express how frustrated I am that we have to do all this. If this were an Xbox game or a PS3 game, we wouldn’t have to do any of this. We’d simply hand the user off to the manufacturer’s already included super mega system and it would take care of it. I could rant for hours on (as you can imagine, I’m extreme

I've noticed that when I capture a portal flag, an image of a portal flies across the screen and lands on the portal building really, really quickly (as in, it's only visible for one or two frames). It happens when the flag becomes neutral, and again when I capture it. My system is a laptop with one of the embedded NVidia chips, and I run with all the graphics settings turned down to "low".
Is it that difficult for developers to program in an AI that can challenge there players without resorting to "cheating"?
Yes. Here's an example. It took something like thirty years for chess programs to get good enough to compete with decent human players. Admittedly some of that was hardware, but some of it was also software improvements. And chess is essentially the idea case: it requires a whole

Last night I got into a Skirmish match, then was dropped after a minute or two. I didn't feel like running the connection gauntlet again, so I played it to completion against the AI. Here's the fun bit: it shows up as a win in my games list, and as a loss in the lists of the other people who were in when it started. That doesn't seem fair to me. http://pantheon.demigodthegame.com/game/361072/player/11954/

Hmm, I'll remember that next time. It's hard to coordinate that in the middle of a fight, and I don't know if my partner was listening to anything I said that game (he never replied to my messages that he really should run now, and not fight them both on his own). I guess maybe the real lesson is that teamwork beats not-teamwork, no surprise there.

If you feel like you can't take them on, don't worry about them. Focus on creep killing, flag capturing, destroying structure, citadel upgrades, lane dominance, paving a pathway for creeps to hit citadel, supporting your teammates, etc etc etc. Just don't worry about them.
Like I said, I tried this last night.

I bought a copy of Demigod for a friend as a gift, but I forgot to warn him ahead of time that it was coming, so he tossed the email giving him his magic key or whatever in his spam folder and deleted it. Is there any way to get the key re-issued to him? I tried emailing sales@ like the email said, but we haven't heard a peep from them. Should I be emailing a different address instead?

The title refers, of course, to Sedna and the Queen of Thorns. Some of the other Demigods give me a little trouble, but none of them is as flat-out annoying as the girls. Most players don't know how to use them properly, but every once in a while I run into a player who does nothing but spam their heal / shield all game, and there's nothing I can do . Fight them? You're taking damage the whole time, and every seven seconds they negate everything you di

This really applies to everyone, not just Regulus. Last evening I got paired with a guy who died over and over, always the same way. He'd respawn and try to grab a flag, or start shooting at a tower from inside its attack range, then an Unclean Beast would show up and he'd start fighting it. Of course the Beast spit, then started swiping at him, then (before he could fireball it to death) spit again and ran away. Then he died from the poison. He never even grabbe

As far as I know, though, command latency is always the same in game-time. If lag gets bad, all that happens is that the game slows down to ensure that everyone stays in sync.

2. On the thirteenth day, Poya saw a light in the distance. It looked a great deal like a Leak, but the closer he got the farther away it seemed to be. He traveled in that direction for one day, then another. On the third day after spotting the light, he ate his last ra'qa nut. Now, he reflected, he had better not go back, lest he eat his own mother. On the fourth day, the light appeared brighter and larger than any Leak h

1. Poya was a young Person of the Void, born to a modest household. (ed: some variants of this story suggest a scandal around his birth, but the reports are too confused to form a coherent account) From birth he was the most playful and inquisitive child that his village had ever seen, and they loved to watch him chase the e!Kza in the evening as the Leak began to dim. Backstory, as promised. The legend of Void Blade: Translation and foreword courtesy of the University of Magic, Wellington. FOREWORD: The Void, known to scholars as The World Beyond The Worlds, is largely a cold and dead place, for there is no heat or light outside the Worlds of Light. But while it has no energy in the normal sense, the Void is bursting at the seams with Mana. This is no metaphor: th

I was unfortunately struck with a somewhat loopy idea today, and I had to write it down. Since I went to all that effort, I figured I'd humiliate myself a little more by posting it here! :-D There's also a somewhat whimsical backstory (I was trying to get away from the blood-and-thunder stuff that all the other Demigods have) which I will post in segments as replies. The last few abilities are a bit lame -- I was running out of ideas. [e digicons]:P[/e]

This effect causes the difficulty to appear higher than it would seem if you just looked at the rules for their stat increases + whatever smarter scripts they have over easy/normal.
