Jeeze, who let all the whiners in here?

Agreed. You guys make fun games. Somebody tell us more about the pending SD 'fantasy game'...
Good information about the universalists... I'll have to try that out... Or at any rate start burning a point on luck ability. Government generally depends on the strategy you're adopting. I used to make a super-producing Thalan race with massive military and social production (industrialist) and then I realised that all I was doing was providing a huge pile of industrial capacity with insufficient funds to actually drive it. Late-mid-game, I was still running industry at 60-80% capaci
I read in this forum that the latest patch nerfs the advanced government types to +10/+20/+30 Economic bonuses only, rather than the massive bonuses described in the tech tree. Can anybody confirm/deny this?
I believe that it's the tough level that the ai uses max brain power with no cheating econ bonuses...
https://www.galciv2.com/Journals.aspx Here it is... Nevermind.
I enjoyed you link, Spax. Very cute. Terrifying. China was never in the sphere of influence of the soviet union. Mao and Stalin had very little in common idealogically, and this set the stage for culture wars between the two powers. Pudinghead
I need a link to the release notes for the 1.1 v the 1.0 game. also, a link to the 1.11 v the 1.1. thanks Puddinghead
Woah! I dunno how to do your kool html ninja stuff so I quote from iztok... "AFAIK the only one bonus you receive currently (game 1.1) from governments are economic bonuses. And those are quite modest: 10%, 20% and 30%. No research and manufacturing bonuses whatsover." So the description of those techs in the technology screen is completely wrong?!?!? eek. Anything else blatantly lying that I should know about? Is there a list of inconstistancies somewhere? thank
I switch from Democracy to federation (if that's the one after it, I don't really remmeber), and my industry/research/military bonus goes from 50 to 75. But when I look at the number of hammers and sheilds being produced by my colonies, there is no difference. A colony producing 288 research still produces 288. What's up with this? Also, are these bonuses affecting capacity, or total production.... In other words, do they represent a bonus for the capacity slots that require a bc in
Okay. I build a dreadnaught. It advertises at 100HP. Later in the game, I see a bunch of my ships running around with 70HP. Or 115. WHat is the deal? I would expect to build a ship and have it have the same Maxhp for it's life. also, I'm not seeing the "hardned hull" techs take effect. Are there smoe circumstances for these techs I'm not understanding? thanks in advance...
Okay... I guess I can accept getting stomped by a random event... thanks for the info...
Just got rocked in a game on tough, Large universe 7 oponents. I've got the best military in the game with plenty of heavy fighters and military base support. So I'm chewing away at the yellow guy, and all of the sudden, these 2x 26x18 MassDriver Frigats show up out of nowhere... Class "Ranger"... anyway, nobody in the entire universe is going MassDriver. Nobody. Yellow couldn't have gotten them from somewhere else, because nobody in the entire universe had the tech. anyway, I shifte
title says it all. How can I start the game in a window, so I can keep track of other processes while I play? thanks in advance... puddinghead
