... at last! ... someone edited the thread's abusive title and the abusive content of the OP ... my eyeballs feel better already ...
[...T]he argument is that by making such remarks as "CASUAL gamers who whine when they cannot defeat simple and bad strategies", take note on the "casual" name, you are immediately sending a bad message, by sounding like the other person is a moron who should keep his mouth shut simply because he is not a "competitive" player. [...S]ome people start using terms like noobs, idiots, stupid, whiners, which are really insulting. [...] Many players here have to simply step down from
I am even more amazed by the retards in this forum who aren't voicing the issue to the developers! Are you freaking douches just playing singleplayer or 1v1s? Or are you just that god damn daft[?...] STOP ACTING LIKE SHEEP
:SNIFF!:
AGREE 100% with Reply 1035 !
in a few days ... version 1.03 will come out : do it then, u must ! Stardock patches are rarely minor fixes : they are big events, with a lot of new, major stuff ... do it ! (u wont have to patch to 1.01 & 1.02 : version 1.03 will be cumulative & complete)
Thanks god this game doesn't appeal to Starcraft-type players
... and when Starcrack 2 is released ... no way they're going to hang around this forum or ICO ...
I just take off the side plates (yes, both sides) to my computer and point a fan into it turned on high.
my dad keeps the 2 side plates ... his reasoning is that the fan cools one side plate (the one near the CPU & videocard) and that this cold somewhat transmits itself to the nearby components ... his objections to your approach are that u risk blowing in dust + the too direct wind force of the fan might disrupt some components what do u think ? <
My dad pre-ordered that TA expansion, and I tried it (beta 5) this morning. I created a custom race with the super-isolationist ability, in an « immense » universe (vast, with a lot of « scattered » stars & planets), with 6 competitors (on « normal »), to have some space & time to grow without interference. Look what happened : The universe generator put 6 of the 7 players in the same half of the map (the right portion of the losange), and put only 1, totally isolated
i have not tried to play on ICO yet suppose i do not do any port forwarding on our home router (my dad doesnt want me to change the router's secure setup for any reason) : would i still be able to JOIN (only) games on ICO ? (do u absolutely have to configure your router to join ?)
... check out this thread if you want to follow a heated debate amongst elitist, hyper-competitive players : [link="https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/?forumid=404&aid=302588"]arMADa[/link] ... as a n00b(ette), i really enjoyed reading that whole thread : very informative & educative ... but i would not want to become like them ... i agree with 1Spartan (reply #12) : theres a « simple dichotomy », and i wish to remain on the relaxed n00b side of it ... <b
... you British Columbia colonists are late ... the April issue of PC Gamer was out here (in Quebec), retail ... 9 days ago ... ;p
I've got XP 32bit and Vista 64bit installed. SoaSE works perfectly in XP and hangs/crashes randomly in Vista. I can't run SoaSE for more than an hour ever on Vista.
Read reply #12 : it produces The Absolute Answer concerning your indecent Vista problems.

Craig Fraser of Ironclad recently posted in another thread (concerning MP game speed) ... It must have been posted around 3 AM (Vancouver, Canada time) ... PS > and now, he just posted over me !
that's great ... more markets >> more sales >> more investments in patches, updates, expansions >> more fun for us sinners + more jobs at IC & SD ;p
Version: 0.90.035 Type: beta « The beta of the application you are attempting to download is not available. » :(
Once the textures are loaded the first time, they're kept in memory if possible. So subsequent games in the same session will have greatly reduced loads.
OK ... but, in the context of the OP's situation ... does having the textures loaded up-front reduce texture loading delays during & within one particular game ? (that is what interests the OP author & me ... im not concerned about « subsequent games in the same session »)
Ironclad does the actual programming. Starock is the publisher. Starodck and Ironclad work very closely on the game development
TWO Freudian slips in a row from the CEO of « Stardock » !?! He wants to be a « rock star » ? A rock star with a « rod » d*ck ?!
i'm bumping my post up cause i really would like an answer to my reply #4 (linked to r #2)... kryoooooooooooo ... :)
My guess is, power-supply gone bad or not supplying something with the correct voltage consistently. Replace it
... a good hypothesis ... many gamers have average (or old) PS and they never consider changing it for a quality brand-name PS ... the Power Supply is a component that a lot of people take for granted and never pay attention to ... some upgrade their video card for a more powerful one ... which stresses the old average PS ... they put a lot of money
IsTextureBackgroundLoadingOn TRUE make it FALSE
OK ... but what positive consequence doing that might have ? (and i still dont understand what « « notable increase in the up-front load time » means ...)
... we must suppose that somebody, at Stardock, is already casting fishing lines towards the Old World, alluring sales figures and reviews set on the hooks ...
Has anyone seen any info about a class action suit against Ironclad...I'd like to join because It seems to me that thier actions and intentions are boardering on intent to defraud consumers.
Why not, rather, launch your rabid « class action suit » against Microsoft ? I visit many game forums, and many Microsoft Windows Vista users are experiencing big problems running many other games than this one. And also, Vista + nVidia drivers do not constitute, a
