we don't know what race will be killed off yet. although it would be cool if there were scattered remnants (say less than a billion scattered around the galaxy, remnants of an empire with 300 billion people) of the two races that were destroyed because even with tons of invasions, etc, theres bound to be some members of that race elsewhere. I haven't done the campaigns, so I don't know much about the background story of the various races.

I always send them to the stars closest to me and just keep going outwards, having the survey vessel go around looking at the star systems helps too.

maybe it was on the plastic covering of the CD? sometimes they are. I have no idea what could have happened with the serial number unless its elsewhere in or on the box.

Bought a copy today. Can't find a seriel number anywhere on my case either a new or used copy? and I don't know why you wouldn't be able to find the serial.

hmm, you're right, I haven't seen them do those hyperion buildings, I do normal difficulty though. but even on that difficulty they should build a few. I've seen them build those spin control centers a few times but I don't think thats a Hyperion building.

I've had the browser crash thing, but it was very rare and seemingly random, hardly any effect since I could jump back in. although with the new forum setup, the performance is better. also try doing cookie deletion and temp internet file cleanup? that usually helps with some forum issues.

the quoting hasn't been enabled for IE yet other than highlighting and clicking the quote button, and I'm using that. although I may switch to Firefox sometime, but not now. and I'm using IE 6.0

could you guys add a function that allows the post times to be set to the local time zone a member is in? because the post times are currently set to EST while I'm in California and there are ppl who live as far away as europe or australia who visit these forums. I can't promise that but I will consider it. ok thanks.<br/

definetly pretty kewl! and its certainly a more standard layout and its faster all right. we'll have to see about the new post refresh rate....... better be instant! edit: the refresh rate seems to be instant, which is good :) also, there needs to be a mark all as read button.

you are the one who's complaining xtrak. 1. true, however the Yor are the only robotic race in this game (not counting the minor races) so they needed to balance it somehow. Plus they probably use the 'food' as a form of fuel, reproduce using cloning vats or something similar in concept and just use your imagination as far as the entertainment centers. 2. Like Marca said, go mod it if you want it. 3. its more like tens of millions not billions and yea they'd hav

if you right click on that blue event square on the side of the screen, it automatically fills up, if you are manually launching them, just make sure you have the slider set all the way to the right. it also sorta sounds like you might be upgrading ships to troop transports, in that case, you still have to manually fill them up with troops. also, do you have the latest patch?

When it comes to space turn based games, there are similarities just because of the genre. when I looked at the screenshots, it looked like bits and ideas from various games, but no outright plagarism.

a link would be nice please. Actually, it's just the same genre as GalCiv and MOO2, yes it has 3D ish graphics but they are very different from GalCiv2, so it has similarities yes. also look here at the preview from gamespot: http://www.gamespot.com/pc/strategy/swordofthestars/news.html?sid=6153570 it says the developers are veterans of Homeworld and Ground Control

are you sure it doesn't have a foriegn race's symbol on it? and are there colonists on the ships? also if the planet is out of range it won't work and a message will pop up saying that its out of range anyway. I haven't had any problems with not bieng able to colonize a planet, other than someone else beating me to it.

yea well I usually spend 20 minutes sometimes on the ship designs, sometimes longer if the designs are more complicated, but I'm not sure how some of these were made, especially the larger ones. I usually make various ones during the game and I don't really have any particular design scheme, so I just design it to whatever it is I have in mind. and I usually try to make the warships look fierce and stuff.
