Bug 2: -The dregin civilization capital apparently moved to planet kona after I had captured their home world dregin. that is not neccesarily a bug, where it chooses a new capital depends on a couple of factors, I'm not sure what they are, but if the Drengin only had a few planets left then it's possible that could happen like that. I've seen

np man, mistakes happen and sometimes we could trigger a cause and effect chain unintentionally. Also, will this work with a saved game because I have one in progress or should I go and do a new one?
also, it's not selecting a new ship when one ships moves are over and there are ships with moves left, I have to manually tab to get to the next one. not sure whats going on with that one and I don't think a debug err will help, and its happening with all games from the start.
Auto-select is gone. I know that lots of people hated it bit I find it annoying having to hit tab every time a ship has finished movement. I hope that it will be back as an option? there is an option to turn it on in the options menu. As far as the green turn button goes, I don't know if it used to work for me and I just never notic
what are you talking about? I've never had a green turn button, not even a green one on the end of the turn. Thats probably cuz you still have moves on some of your ships, you need to either use the remaining moves, or skip the movement points. Ive had this on all updates, Original 1.0, 1.0x, 1.1, 1.2 and I plan to have it on 1.3, havent upgraded yet cuz I got a
1st- As documented in other threads, the end of turn does not change the turn button green. Upon reloading a new save game, it was green for the first turn... I got all excited but alas, it never again turned... what are you talking about? I've never had a green turn button, not even a green one on the end of the turn.
Sometimes the minors can cause a bit of chaos, notably the Snathi since they are famous for trying to pick fights with almost everybody. In one game (on a lower difficulty level) the snathi managed to grab two, maybe three other planets. Otherwise, they either make good trade partners when they are distant enough and they always have juicy high quality homeworlds
Although if there are alot of wars going on in the galaxy, the infliuence bases tend to have a short lifespan and so don't become a problem. It's also annoying when they place alot of econ starbases around my homeworld since I always have all of my trade routes origionate from my homeworld.
+ Added strings for moralists event Is this event different from the good/evil alignment flip event? I'm confused here.
sure, an AAR is essentially a story about GC2, so you can do it in whatever style you want.
In 1.3 you can destroy a colony once you own it and it becomes class 0. cool, no more wasting multiple colonizers on a class 4 or 5 world that is in your home system but you don't want, or some other crappy planet.
oh, was the AI getting too much of an advantage?
lol, everybody is impatient but ya just gotta wait man.
re starbases. AIs build starbases seemingly in the middle of nowhere to extend their range. wouldn't econ starbases work just as well? because using influence bases would only get the races into trouble.
He probably just forgot to mention about the new 7500 BC start in the dev journal.
well for one the miniturization fix which makes it work better now, and there will be a whole lot of AI changes (read Draginol's/Frogboy's thread about 1.3 full, not sure where it is).
yea, they don't usually become very strong. Although they did get really strong in once game and in some games they have a respectable but not particularily strong military. Thats if they manage not to get wiped out early on.
+ All AI will tend to mobilize for war now BEFORE going to war (i.e. start to send ships near the border rather than declare war and have months of phoney war. We have ideas on making it even better in the future.). yep, one of those human player tactics. heck, I often have a period of mobilization and border strengthening before I go to war. S
kblore... you missed my point. WHo is s1genocide... that frogboy makes a unique post addressing his concerns?? do you get it? how is he different then any of us.... we paid same as him, but only negative posts get addressed??? I am confused here. I was the guy (and part of the mod team) who took the time to fix Master of Orion 3 in alls its "horrible" glory. (i
And, Frogboy, in my last 2 games I have not seen the type of tile usage I was complaining about. Maybe it was just a fluke. I think I found the cause over the weekend to the dumb AI fluke. I'm pretty sure the final 1.3 solves that (and the crashing problem, we spent yesterday tracking that down as well). I also hope that the AI starts usi
1) parts on legacy designs that are only there visually (no effect on ship stats) and cannot be deleted (e.g. a Singularity Driver). are you talking about the core designs? you shouldn't be using those, make your own ships since the core ones suck.
I'm also especially enjoyed that you guys are implementing my suggestion about making recordings (really brief ones) of battles and stuff. I know that there would be issues with coding it even though the game already records battles at the end of each one and records each one for the scores at the end of the game, so I'd understand if you end up with a watered down or otherwise modified version of the idea <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Smile.gif" border=0 ALIGN="absmiddle"
Frogboy, that guy seems to mainly want multiplayer and tactical battles since he lists those two every time. I would definetly like a more interactive diplomacy and the Civ3 and Civ4 diplomacy us a good reference point, but I know it would be somewhat simpler in GC2: DA since we don't have tradeable resources in the way that the Civ series has. However, the part about having more options and flexibility in diplomacy such as a declare war option (on the race you are talking to), a way of
1. sounds cool, but probably overly complicated because you can see (with espionage) what other races have on thier planets, and with 9 races, thats alot of different names. 2. There are alot of ways to mod things, however I haven't made mods for GC2 before so I don't know. 3. I've heard of people making modded tech trees, so maybe.
The Thalans, Drath, and Iconians are derivatives of the Terran Alliance AI. That's interesting. Why would it be that the first three (Terrans, Thalans, and Drath) always stop expanding after they have colonized a few systems, but the Iconians often become a decent-sized power and sometimes really kick butt? I wish the first three would not behave the way
