Hi Zanobi, same question there, are you aware if heavy Proxing was in use or did you have reasonably low ping times?

Hi guys, we're working with GasPoweredGames to get additional debug information in the game so that the next time this happens, you can send us your logs in the hope that we can get an idea for what's happening with your connection. I appologize for the trouble you're having and hope we can get it remedied for you. One question I have, if these are custom-games you're in, are you aware if all/any/many of your connections (when clicking "Connetion Info") have "Proxied" next t
vladesch: judging by what was happening to you (you were stuck as connecting to another player, but in their connection list you showed up as fully connected to them) - i have a very good feeling that your problems will be solved by the next update. keep us up to date on how it does for you, it should be out in the next day or two at most
I've looked into this issue, and Microsoft's powertoy fails to broadcast a WM_SETTINGCHANGE message upon changing the wallpaper, as is required for any other program other than the shell itself to know that some setting has changed. Microsoft, violating their own rules... go figure. Am looking in to ways of detecting the wallpaper changing without just continuously checking the file for changes, hopefully the next update of Fences has a workaround for this.
This will be in the feature-pack for later this year, for sure :)
Eek! Unfortunatly some old code still resides in Impulse, even though we no longer use that system. In response to this difficulty you've seen, we've removed it. While we can't put out a new Impulse with this update immediatly, in the next week or so I hope a new full-install from the web will help you out!
Will be addressed in a future release... will a couple months til we get back to it though so sit tight for now! The problem revolves around the fact that when saving files, Word/Excel actually create a second copy of the document, delete the previous copy and then rename the second (new) copy to the original filename. We have to add some extra smarts to Fences to detect this! Thanks.

Hi guys... Try changing to using a wallpaper instead of a solid-color for your background... see if that helps your situation. Some changes were made in this version revolving around that. Thanks
I'm sorry to report that unfortunatly the wallpaper-changing routines of the Virtual Desktops and Fences on XP are not compatible :(
To everyone who posted above... whether or not you're still having the problem, try updating to the latest update of Fences on Impulse. If my updates work like I hope they will, you won't be able to get your fences to not show up :) Let me know if it doesn't work out for you or creates any fences-dont-show problems. (Particularly for solid-color wallpapers)
RKurbis & DrJBHL thanks both for looking so deep into this one!! RKurbis, unfortunatly I've tried reproducing with your suggestion and was unable to get it to break. Will try on a few other machines & more fresh installations though as well to see if I can reproduce! A question, through any of this did you have a wallpaper set, or just a solid color?
On XP unfortunately no such luck. They should run fine together on Vista however. Try rebooting
Hi Ken. Sorry for the inconvenience - what platform were you seeing this on. XP SP3?
will be compat w/ OD skins for sure :)
lol. yeah, i can get rid of the labels... but i can't make them go closer to eachother
Hi guys, Skinning will be in a future version of Fences for sure, later this year. Sit tight :)
@paffinity - Yeah, aware of the Ultramon/Displayfusion wallpaper issues, will be fixing that in the next update in not long. @Achronous - cool look! the pro version later this year will have skinning support for sure, and that is a cool concept right there =) thanks for sharing.
Hi Jim, Since its not configurable in the mean time, you can try the built-in hotkey: press escape while the desktop is active to toggle your icons. Enjoy!
So reinstalling seemed to fix it? let us know if it's still all good after your next reboot!
ah! mistake on our end, we'll have that fixed shortly. thanks
