fo sho. in a future version, if you're on Vista, i plan to have a feature where you can have a folder visible as a fence on your desktop. (no time super-soon though so don't get your hopes too up, but within the 6month/year almost for sure i imagine)

There was a glitch in our build process during 0.96.1405... all fixed up and the update is available on Impulse! (The problem would cause Fences to not work on any x64 machine)

A note to anyone having explorer crash problems. Please please submit your error log over to us, see the post @ https://forums.wincustomize.com/337572 for more info on doing this. Would like to get this solved for everyone experiencing it as quickly as possible

Having problems with explorer crashing? The Fences settings dialog crashing? Context menus not showing up properly? They're rare & far inbetween, but if this is you, please take the time to send in your diagnostics information. In the latest build up on Impulse I've added some debug information catching / crash logging. First: Update your copy of Fences to the v0.96 beta. Make sure you have "Show pre-release versions" checked in Impulse, and install it / reboot. From there

do you have multiple monitors installed? or just the one. if multiple, are there addl monitors to the left of your taskbar or no? and interesting, the plan is to keep it the way it is, but why so adamently against using it if it's not 'guaranteed to remain free'? does it provide that little value that if we wrote a bunch of intelligent features / skinning / etc as an add-on and put a tag on them as an upgrade, you'd revolt out of principal? as the developer whose software / la

Planning to get a Win7 fix for the next update... the only thing i believe that needs fixing is the load-with-explorer mechanism ; it has been changed so I need to find a new way to load at startup. Everything else to my knowledge is compatible as expected, so it should be pretty straightforward. Watch your email for a next announcement!
bangwow - XP or Vista? Change the background color...of fences? Or of your desktop. If fences, try playing with all of the different sliders, changing both the saturation and the brightness
