I've built ships much like that before, though I don't use them much anymore. I originally designed them to counter Dread Lord troop transports. This was before I got a lot better at maintaining my defenses. Now using them never crosses my mind. Come to think of it, it might be fun to dust off those old designs of mine and try to torment the AI. Maybe I'll develop a few new strategies... P.S. Thanks for sharing.

I've recently managed to pull myself away from the games I got for christmas, and started playing GalCiv 2 Dark Avatar beta again. In the middle of my most recent game, the pirate mega event occured. Shortly after every ship was destroyed, the Dread Lords arrived. After a little thinking, I decided to ignore the Dread Lords for a while, and focus on clearing some of the pirates so I could have some room to build up my forces. Besides, I haven't had a good fight with the Dread Lords for a while.<

I think the default XP installation has 16 running processes. I'm looking at a screen shot I made when I last formated my computer. Oh well, good work on cleaning your computer. Me, I'm stuck with Norton and all of their extra processes for another year. I really need to find something much better... P.S. The link you provided looks interesting. Thanks for providing it.

I was meaning to send in a report about it myself. I always seem to be too busy to do so. My current excuse is that I got some new games for christmas... Anyhow, this bug mentioned, from my experience, only seems to occur after you play on a map for a while. Its most problematic when you use invasion tactics that destroy structures, or decide, after you win, that you don't like what they did with the place and decide to change the wall paper, only to find out that it might of been less

The main issue here seems to be that the computer races can't win, so they don't seem to work to win. I've read in another thread, I can't remember which one, that the AI don't play to win. They instead, try to act like they are the leaders of their nations, and try to decide what is best for their civilization. So this whole galactic conquest p

The Space Pirates are attacking! Quick, someone call Samus Aran! Damn! I knew I've been forgeting to call someone... I suppose not calling one of my favorite video game characters hasn't been too much of a problem. I've gotten quite good at countering these random super pirate attacks. <TABLE cellpadding=8 width="95%" align=cent

I play good. I find that the defense bonuses does help in surviving in a dangerous world. If you make the effort to aquire to do so, you can get +5% additional hit points, and +35% defense bonus. I think good gets the short end of the stick in GC2. I have to agree to that. Ethical decisions, both when colonizing planets and random events

Of course, the real solution to my problem is to go buy a fresh XP Pro install disk and format the drive and start over, but at this point I don't feel like spending another $300, plus HP will only supply drivers as part of the recovery disk. I know I can go to Asus or the DVD manufacturer for drivers if I have to. Anyway, does anyone know of a decent guide out ther

I suppose PC games could be dead. It seems that when ever 1 good is released, 10 flawed carbon copies show up soon afterwards. I haven't searched through the entire list of games yet, but there is one game that I'm interested in. Its is called Spore.

I use a *lot* of economic starbases to give my planets production and research bonuses. Influence and Military starbases are a waste of time in my opinion, though there are people that swear by them. I'm one of those players who do swear by influence starbases. Back to the Drengin subject. Aside from starting techs, and inherent abilitie

Since there appears to be a problem with uploading personal icons, I'll worry about it another day. There isn't exactly anyone around worth complaining to. I was kind of joking in suggesting Thumper from Bambi as an icon. Who could corrupt cute little Thumper? But perhaps

Here use this as a test. Just point to the image, right click, save as and upload the saved file to your personal icon. If this doesn't work for you then you're doing something wrong. I'm sure thats what I've been doing. I save the file to my documents, and then try to upload it as my personal icon. I tell it where it is by clicking browse. It sa

After a few days of doodling, I have come to one conclusion: I suck at drawing. I tried to upload the icon that Drengin found, but it keeps saying "Your upload succeeded, but the image(s) have been corrupted. Please check the file and try again.". Is the forums having troubles again, or am I going to have to find another image? P.S. Since I'm thinking about it, does anyone know of any good sites where you can learn how to draw?

Asteriod minning is quite useful actually. Lets say you have a world that you want to build up quickly. You could assign several asteriods to that planet so it builds up much quicker than normal. This is especially useful for planets that you need special techs to colonize. The basic colonization tech (required to colonize a toxic world for instance) only allows you to achieve 50% production. Until you manage to finish researching the Advanced colonization of the appropiate planet type

Ok, thanks for the input. I'll try some of your ideas. I'm not what I'll come up with, though. I asked this question because I'm not good with names. I normally reconize people on this forums by their icon, and I figured that other people did the same. P.S. Feel free to add more ideas.

This is part of my question. How do I build survey modules to explore these anomolies??? So far I can only bult constructers and scouts...Thanks! You should research "Sensors 1" tech. It will unlock the survey module. You can make your own survey ships then. <TABLE cellpadding=8 width="95%" align=center bgColor=#FFF394 class="mb-Body-Quo
